I lived in the Tennenloher apartment for over two years. The main advantage is its availability for quick relocation in Erlangen when options are limited.

Unfortunately, my move-out experience was one of the worst I’ve had in Germany. I received the apartment with a broken, outdated TV from the previous tenant, which I reported a month later. Despite this, I was charged €250 for it. The TV was listed in the handover protocol, but not checked—indicating the protocol wasn’t followed properly.

During my stay, I also faced an issue where the heaters were always on and couldn’t be turned off. When I contacted the landlord, I was directed to the Hausmeister, and the Hausmeister sent me back to the landlord—leaving the problem unresolved.

Other damaged items, unnoticed during the handover, were also added to the final bill. While I acknowledge my delay in reporting the damaged TV, but i am not obliged to pay anything which is not reported on signed protocol paper. I received bill directly for TV and other missing items which were not reported during signing the handover protocol. My question is that what is purpose of the paid handover, if items will be added after official handover?

I urge the management to improve their procedures and transparency.

Extremely helpful and approachable staff, quick procedures

All issues were resolved very quickly, most of them in a convenient format via email.
When communicating with the staff, I felt a desire to help with finding comfortable housing in accordance with my wishes.
I would especially like to thank Hannelore Köllisch, who made special efforts and patience, since communication took place exclusively in English.

It is a reliable agency which tries to help you with their best. It was my total luck that I could meet these nice people after suffering to be able find a place with my two lovely cats. They offered me pet-friendly options immediately. I rented a furnished apartment and it was always relieving to have somebody to call when you needed, such as plumber or handyman or internet service. It was also nice to have international support since my German skills are limited. Thanks to them, I had nice experience in Erlangen for 18 months as a newcomer. I wish the best for their all job :)

The service is not responsible for anything. If there are any questions - the tenant should clarify by himself. The chose of houselords, whi have psycological problems. And the wohnref employees knows this but still working with those houselords and then give the tenant no support in broblem solving at all. That is not what expected from the service

Process was so smooth

With help of Wohnref Erlangen we could find a suitable apartment. They are helpful and supportive.

It's a good experience when searching for home with Wohnref. At least it is one of very little number of housing websites in English. In the beginning, I feel that the response for viewing request is not very fast. But they send a video of the house for preliminary viewing, so that helps to narrow down the options and leave with 1 house to personally view (in my case). Elisabeth Killing is my contact point and she speaks very good English and very very helpful! I had issue with the shower after I moved in (the valve broken and water runs all night 😱). It was public holiday yet she responded to my chat very quickly and send a technician within 2-3 hours to fix that. I don't speak German and therefore it was a huge help and a big relief. I do recommend Wohnref for a start to search your accommodation.
