Appalling Pet Transport Services. Stay away

I used Woodside to transport my Pet back to the U.K. from the Canary Islands. Have to say I'm really disappointed with the service.

On collection no notes were taken down regarding Rosies food, portions etc which I would have expected from a professional service.

It turned out, not long before the trip that Woodside were actually sub contracting the majority of the journey out to another company. The transparency here was non existent. I booked with, and paid Woodside and at no point during the booking process was I informed another company would be carrying out the transfer.

I was promised pictures on WhatsApp approx 3 times during the journey and didn't receive one.

When the third party took over there was a little more communication and I did receive a photo update but when my dog arrived her nose had a large 'bloody' wound on it and her bed was covered in blood. I get that accidents happen but no attempt had been made to ease her distress.

On taking her to the vets, the most likely cause of the wound due to its shape and position was trying to get out of the cage after a prolonged period of time.

I'm absolutely mortified that any company would put an animal through such an ordeal and find it acceptable. They shouldn't be transporting animals and in fact, won't forward on their Spanish Animal transport license so I can put in a claim for my vets bills with the insurance company.

Furthermore, the communication and customer service from Woodside following all this has been appalling.

Apparently I am not the type of customer they want so they said in an email... That is, someone who hands over €1700 and expects their dog to be transported in relative comfort and not having to fork out £200 in vets consultations and treatment when she arrives! You judge a company on how they respond to problems, and not once have they asked how Rosie is, which just about sums them up as people and their attitude to pet care.

Stay away from this outfit if you love your furry friend.
