This is the worst bank in existence

This is the worst bank in existence; it seems like their system is stuck in the year 1980. You make payments, yet your account balance remains unchanged for over three days, leaving you with no real idea of how much money you actually have available. If you happen to make another payment, they are quick to hit you with a $35 overdraft fee—and when you write to them about it, they respond in a truly repulsive manner.

Do NOT do business with this bank!

Do NOT do business with this bank!! They don't care about you or any of your life's hardships. All they care about is money. I had a HEL with them and was having financial difficulty because of my divorce. I thought an arrangement I had made with a realtor group had taken care of the payments but it had not. I was late on ONE payment (been faithful to pay on every other payment) and they already sent my name to a credit bureau even though it was only one day past the 30 days and I was making arrangements to get everything paid...including the late fee which they would not waive seeing as this was my first and only time being late on a payment. AGAIN DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK!!!

Customer Service

I've had checking and money market accounts at WSFS bank for the past 9 or 10 years and my experience has been continuously outstanding. The products and fees are about the same as most banks, but what sets WSFS apart is the customer service. From normal checking to safe deposit access, drive through or lobby visits and phone inquiries their people have been professional, helpful and, most importantly to me, friendly. My most recent encounter occurred when I lost my debit card. Within 24 hours my lost card was blocked and I was issued a new card at my local branch (Ocean View, DE). The process was clearly explained and my embarrassment was quickly erased by yet another example of how customer service is not just a slogan -- it's obvious that it is instilled in the WSFS staff as a standard way of doing business. I have recommended WSFS to friends and businesses in the area and all have reported the same level of service that I have experienced. I would estimate that my recommendations have resulted in over $250,000 in new deposits for the bank, proving that good customer service pays off.

The WORST BANK they take your money!!!!

This is absolutely the WORST BANK in the world. They opt you in when you sign up for checking, to withdraw funds that are not in your account. Then when you overdraft they do not immediately notify you until days later. Keep in mind, I check my account every day actively. They will charge multiple overdraft fees at $35 each. I have 3 over draft fees in a row because they charged me the fees 2 days later. This should be ILLEGAL. I have been a customer with them for over 20 years, when they were previously BENEFICIAL bank. I asked them to waive the fees since I am a loyal customer and transferred the funds the same day. They told me "unfortunately, we can only process 1 courtesy refund". On top of all this they charge a $6 monthly "service fee". This is outrageous and sad in this economy. They are taking our hard earned money and refuse to help dedicated LOYAL customers. With that being said, I am closing my account. NEVER AGAIN. I wish I could give them ZERO STARS. Be warned.

We are paying for THEIR mistakes

Over the past 20+ years we have had accounts and a few home equity loans with WSFS. Back in Oct 2023 we locked in a fixed rate on equity loan we had in place. That paid off the existing loan and resulted in a new loan. A day later I received a call from someone at the branch and said that they made a mistake and we were $0.21 (21 cents) short on the interest that was due but they would just make an adjustment on the new loan and we didn't have to do anything.
Found out today (2-15-24) that they reported a 30 day late pmt. to Experian. Experian lowered out credit score by 73 points.
We called customer service at WSFS. Were told to go to the branch and they would fix it. Were told we signed papers that if there were any errors we would have to pay the difference. No problem. They never notified us we owed them 21 cents. The bank refuses to correct our credit report. They claimed they sent us 2 notices. We never received them. I asked why they would send past due notices on an account that their own records had a zero balance. They blew smoke at us and said they won't change the credit report. We have every statement and they list the details of what is due,(principal, interest, escrows, AMOUNT PAST DUE). on every statement they list $0.00 past due. And then they brag about how much they offer customer service. We will be paying off the loan and changing banks.

I am so disappointed at this point with…

I am so disappointed at this point with this bank. I have been waiting for my debit card since May 23 when they were supposed to send it but never did. Today is July 14th and still do not have my debit card. GOD, I am sick of this situation. Every day a new excuse, nobody in this bank knows what they are doing, just saying something to get rid of you but no solutions.
