Disappointed
Disappointed. I’ve been buying soya wax candles for years and yet when I got the £30 smoked rose + sumatran pine wood wick candle and found it had no hot scent throw, was so hard to stay alight without having to pour lots of wax out, and did not burn cleanly, I was told:
“Unfortunately with soy wax you won’t get a completely clean glass when you burn the candle. The remaining wax on there is normal for our soy wax candles. This is also one of our most popular scents so I am surprised that there is no scent and we haven’t received complaints of this before, but I will speak to our manufacturers about this.
I’m sorry the wooden wick hasn’t performed how you expected but thank you for feedback we will look into this further. I have created a £15 voucher for you to choose your preferred product on our website”.
Disappointed with the offer of 50% of the value of a poorly performing candle, given I had spent £70 in total, I wrote back but received no reply. Not wanting to miss the opportunity to get some “reward” out of this bad situation, I ordered another cotton wick candle to try and make it better. It has a great cold scent throw, but arrived with lots of bits of loose wax on the top. It’s a real shame because I want to love this company (no plastic, charity donation, natural wax), but for this price, I’m not impressed and will keep hunting for the next ethical company on the market.
