YMCA = terrible customer service

I booked a deluxe room at The Beach Hotel, MINEHEAD. This cost £115.00 for one night.
This hotel is used by the YMCA to train apprenticeships.
The room was cold, the radiator couldn’t be turned up.
The duvet was thin & no extra blankets were provided.
The window was poorly maintained & fitted so banged all night.
I requested a partial refund which I thought was more than fair considering I had no sleep, had to use towels from the bathroom & my own clothes to try to get warm.
The YMCA Owned hotel refused to refund.
Apparently as it’s a training hotel I should be satisfied.
I wasn’t actually told it was a training hotel until after I booked.
The issues were management decisions, cheap bedding, poorly maintained.
YMCA you should be ashamed, taking money like this.
Is this the customer service you are showing to your apprenticeship students.

YMCA Cleveleys

My husband was at cardiac rehab. I was being honest. I could easily have gone into the gym. No I went down to reception to ask if I could do the gym for a day. I was told £9 a day just to use the gym. No enthusiasm or friendly approach. Did not make me want to join and be a member.

I bought a 2 seater sofa bed

I bought a 2 seater sofa bed, Stockport branch. They delivered it sort of. They took the bed part out as I quote" To heavy to carry" so after all of 20 seconds this won't go in, even though when I moved in we got a 3 seater sofa in. He said we'll just prop it up here outside the you can dismantle it yourself. Don't let the pics on the internet fool you with with high vis tops. I said take it back so I got a refund but didnt get a refund for non delivery I paid for.

Worst employer ever AVOID

Writing as an ex employee of YMCA Clitheroe charity shop , Worst place I have ever worked in , employees are not valued and poorly treated by management. The hardest part of the job was being expected to do the job of three people at once. Also occupational health guidelines in my case were ignore. AVOID this employer you will leave with your mental and physical health compromised.

I'd give 0 stars if I could.

The Marshfield, WI location (410 W McMillan St, Marshfield, WI 54449) is an awful place and has been for quite some time. The locker rooms are disgusting, and the staff are horrible people who are extremely rude and unprofessional. They outright lie to members about their 24-hour access, closing off most of the building after hours without ever informing anyone. My wife and I were harassed by staff to the point that she suffered a breakdown. When I posted negative reviews elsewhere, they tried to gaslight me and even deleted their Facebook page to hide their abhorrent behavior. They take zero accountability for their actions and they do not deserve to stay open.

Excellent Team

I dealt with the Furniture collection team today who were taking a substantial amount from my commercial office in The Northern Quater Manchester.

The 3 lads who came were excellent.

They arrived on time, respected certain building safety regulations & worked solidly for the morning to effectively & resoectfully remove everything.

There headed up by a chap called Chris & took everything back to the Middleton site.

These 3 lads are a credit to the YMCA & were a pleasure to welcome on site

Please ensure they recive my sincere thanks & appreciation.

Thanks again

There’s no security or supervision at the YMCA

In the facility of the YMCA located at 3414 Culbreath Rd. Valrico, FL 33596, the manager Erin Fiedler has demonstrated that she only cares about the money of her customers and not the security of the facility, for example; at the YMCA they have a junkyard of tires which brings mosquitos into people’s neighboor hood without supervising the terrain she administrates of the YMCA, between the YMCA and the house 3403 Bent Oak St, Valrico, are more then 25 tires left there, there’s no control over the kids that use the facility because they vandalize the properties of the neighboors by using the emergency backdoor exit. Upon informing of this worries to Erin Fiedler she didn’t show any care on it. From which I understand it isn’t a safe place for parents to drop their kids at since kids have been back there without surpervision.

YMCA RC Durr very unwelcoming

We recently had an unwelcoming experience at the YMCA RC Durr location in Florence, KY. While we understand and respect the importance of rules, the staff's aggressive and condescending attitude when enforcing them was unnecessary and made us feel unwelcome.
Throughout our visit, we felt like we were under intense scrutiny, with staff scrutinizing our every move. Unfortunately, management didn't handle our concerns professionally, showing clear bias. To top it off, the staff member at the front lobby was unfriendly as we were leaving.
Corporate's apology and offer to make things right were appreciated, but more work is needed to improve the staff's customer service skills and create a more welcoming environment.

The YMCA in general has lowered the bar…

The YMCA in general has lowered the bar seriously since I became a member roughly 8 years ago. They pretend to listen to memers but don’t really hear our feedback. I am a 100% disabled military veteran and especially in Baton Rouge, La there USE to be a lot of us who uses the “Y” for aqua therapy & aqua classes. The VA even had a program where disabled military veterans could get free membership to the ymca. Well under the Biden Administration the government took this away but the ymca never even tried to fight for this grant, they just shook their heads and were like “whatever”. I happen to know for fact the new administration would reinstate this grant. I also happen to know for fact at one Baton Rouge ymca there was roughly 9-12 disabled vets using the indoor heated pool. Then the upper management decided they needed to tear down the ymca’s that had indoor pools to build new improved ymca’s with just outdoor pools so that they could build ymca section 8 housing included with the new structure they build. So now Baton Rouge has no ymca’s with indoor heated pools, they have lost roughly all their military and veterans because they are setting their sights on little kid summer programs and section 8 housing to stay afloat.

It is a terrible place to go.

It is a terrible place to go.
Some of the staff are racist and extremely wicked and insensitive.
My wife cancelled membership with them and they confirmed they have done it, but they still deducted money. And when she went there today, they said there is nothing they can do, looking down on the person talking to them and grudgingly responding to her and using her to converse.
We had to contact the bank and they said YMCA is supposed to cancel and process refund and they said there is nothing they can do.

AVOID THEM...

deceitful business practices

Within 10 minutes, you can become a member of the YMCA. However, it takes 30 days for the Y to cancel that same membership and STOP taking my money. It’s sad when an organization professors to be Christian, but they take advantage financially of members.

YMCA Woes

I'm annoyed by how much they over schedule their pools. During the summer, it is closed from 1-3 pm for summer camp. OK. I can handle that, bc I'm a teacher and my schedule is much more flexible I the summer time. But during the school year? Forget about it. The pool closes at 5pm for "swim team". Well, that's great. I work 30 miles from home. I have to leave no later than 7am and can't get there much before 5pm. So I pay 50 bucks a month basically for use of a pool, but can't use it a third of the month? Really annoying. If there were any other options, I'd gladly switch.

DO NOT JOIN!!!!

DO NOT JOIN FOR POOL ACCESS! They will tell you it is open ALL DAY EVERY DAY until closure in late September or early October when in reality it is NOT open except for 2 hours in the morning and 2 in the afternoon. They also charge an entire MONTH fee for registration! They do not care at all about customer satisfaction. When I complained I was told too bad, I "should have read ALL the posted material in the lobby to protect myself from their policy changes!" RIP OFF!

Obvious cover up

Put in a formal complaint against an angry and aggressive charity shop manageress in Harpurhey, Manchester, UK. Although they said they'd investigate I heard nothing afterwards. They're obviously looking after their own. Incidentally their prices are above other charity shops so better to look around.

My parent got hurt because of some…

My parent got hurt because of some lousy kids so pushed her over and stole her spot. And you should be ashamed of yourself for that behavior you guy allow. Although I think the pools are great but you still need to maintain the behavior you allow.
