The money people hsve hijacked what is essentially a public ssrvice channel.

Susan Diane Wojcicki was the chief executive officer of YouTube from 2014 to 2023. Her net worth was estimated at $765 million in 2022. Says it all. It was her who put the ads on YT.
When YT was set up it worked very well for the public, who uploaded all of the content free. That was until the money people hijacked what was essentially a public service for their own self- interested ends. In addition they are ruthlessly squeezing the small content-maker, as watching the guitar posts will clearly show. Nul points for Google's stranglehold on YT.

I've been a YouTube user since 2011

I've been a YouTube user since 2011, and honestly, if I had to choose one website to keep and let everything else disappear - YouTube wins without hesitation. The sheer breadth of content is unmatched: no matter how niche your interests, there's a video for it.

That's said, it's not all smooth sailing. Algorithm updates can feel like a gut punch - suddenly sometimes your feed could look unrecognizable - thought to their credit, they do tend to patch things up relatively quickly.

There's real room for improvement on the stability and UX side of things.

I love watching shorts on youtube . Honestly it's the best video app from my end the variety of content helps pass time and place you in a situation of knowledge like I just found out about the USA bombing. Thanks YouTube for making such a platform

Ads IN VITAL SITUATIONS!

Here I was, in the middle of Arizona, when all of a sudden my friend fell down, shaking. I then pulled out my phone to look up a medical procedure to attempt to help him. I hastily clicked on the first YouTube video I saw, but then I was stopped in my tracks by an add about a guy who writes reviews about ludicrous situations. Then my friend turned into a horse and rode into the sun. Please remove adds for medical vids

This site NEEDS a better security

This site NEEDS a better security, bro I have seen some "things" that are just absolutely disgusting. Plus some people are just posting a bunch of Ai, and brainrot videos, sometimes even both at the same time!

YouTube has become something of a black…

YouTube has become something of a black hole for anything of real content. It's algorithm works like a hole in the head, it doesn't!! Shows content from followed creators months after posting even with notifications on. Have to search for their videos now it's like YouTube is forcing their viewing pleasure upon the users now. We don't matter by the looks of it. When it comes to YouTube music , don't waste your money on a subscription, buy the CD you'll actually own it without ads!!! It's a blatant rio off designed purely for profit as is the whole idea of YouTube premium without ads. These engineers are overeducated and I er paid clowns that know nothing of the real world or what people actually prefer, they force crap music upon you when you don't even listen to that genre, they always put some random crap song in the mix , even with a dislike, YouTube still forces their likes or what "the community" likes upon you. What frigging community are you talking about YouTube?? Certainly not the metal community or the hip hop community because you shove your crap music in our mixes!!! Enough is enough YouTube go back to they way you where before you became greedy and selfish.

YouTube no longer favours the little guy

Viewing on a specialist channel were never going to be huge (usually under 10,000) for a specialist channel with a niche audience but it provided enjoyment to many.
Except it now appears youTube has changed its algorithms meaning viewer numbers have suddently dropped to a few hundred (the nature of the content has remained consistent).
So, YouTube is being abandoned (too much AI generated rubbish appearing anyway) and a new video platform is being sourced.

Watching a music video just now and a…

Watching a music video just now and a long advert break of nearly a minute appeared while the song was playing! So much different now to how it used to be. AI slop has also taken over. Uploading is a waste of time as the algorithm is a big factor in what videos get views. There is also no incentive to upload unless you get paid. Community guidelines are nonsense as double standards often occur.

Two requests

Two requests: label AI generated / fiction videos, date the current affairs pieces. I look at news and political material so dates and fiction labeling would help a lot.

Such a waste

I’m a long time user of YouTube but I find myself using it less and less. Google have let this platform become a cesspool of ai content and fake videos that are designed to mislead users in order to create clickbait and revenue. And the worst part is google are fully aware of the problem. A new platform is needed where ‘true’ content creators can create and share quality content, on a platform that cares about its creators and users. I think this is the beginning of the end for YouTube - such a shame.

Am I watching ads or videos?

Feels like I am watching ads instead of videos. Those ads are getting ridiculously more and more, longer and longer, and unskippable. It just ask you to pay money for the premium. What makes it more hilarious is that even if you pay money for premium lite, ads sometimes still present. Also, not allowing ad block👎

I used to love watching YouTube daily

I used to love watching YouTube daily! But now it's nothing more than a tool designed to stress people out! The amount of ads you are bombarded with makes it practically impossible to get into anything you watch from documentaries to music you are guaranteed a minimum of 3 adds per video! Then 2 every few minutes during the video! It's ridiculous! And definitely not a marketing technique!
