The trust pilot rating is accurate.

I am absolutely appalled by my recent experience with Zales Colorado Springs, CO. I purchased a ring as a gift for my wife, and the entire process has been a nightmare from start to finish.

First, the quoted price I received was significantly lower than what I was ultimately charged at checkout. This bait-and-switch tactic is completely unacceptable and frankly, feels fraudulent. I questioned the discrepancy, but the staff offered no reasonable explanation, simply insisting the higher price was correct.

The situation worsened when the ring needed to be transferred between stores. Not only did the transfer take an unreasonable amount of time, but the ring was lost during the process. Lost! A valuable piece of jewelry, intended as a special gift for my wife, vanished while in their care.

If the overcharging and loss weren't bad enough, the store manager's explanation for the loss was insulting. They claimed the employee responsible for the transfer was "mentally ill," as if that somehow excused their negligence and the company's failure to secure my property. This attempt to deflect blame onto an individual’s health status is not only unprofessional, but also deeply insensitive and potentially discriminatory. It speaks volumes about the lack of accountability and integrity within this organization.

I am beyond disappointed. Zales has demonstrated a complete disregard for customer service, ethical business practices, and the safe handling of valuable merchandise. I would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing jewelry to avoid Zales at all costs. My experience has been nothing short of a stressful, expensive, and ultimately heartbreaking disaster. I am still fighting to get a refund or some form of restitution for the lost ring, and the complete lack of empathy or even a sincere apology from Zales has only compounded my frustration. I will be taking my business, and recommending that everyone else do the same, elsewhere. NOT AGAIN!!

What happened from Hero to Zero

I wish I would have read reviews before!! Evidently Signet. ( whomever they are. Based wherever!!!? Have monopolized Zalez, Jared and a number of other once wonderful stores. I just received an order, not as described! The packaging is wrecked and customer service can’t even reach anyone to resolve. If this represents how they feel about their products and customers, it’s disgusting . I doubt it’s USA based ! Do not make my mistake. Go to small business jewelers that respect consumers and stand behind their products. This is an insult to anyone’s intelligence. I hope that if they are manufacturing junk out of USA, they get tariffed up the jing Jung and Americans cease spending their hard earned money on junk.

This company robs you blind

This company robs you blind. False advertisement on gold plated rings. This rings will fade and turn your finger a funky color in one month. Worst purchase ever made. Also this company refuses to issue refunds of any kind. They don't care about their customers and will not work with you on a refund. Save your money, DO NOT BUY FROM ZALES. THEY ARE COMMITTING FRAUD. Report them to Consumer Protection Bureau.

THEY TOOK A PICTURE AND CLEARLY WASN'T MY APARTMENT I LIVE ON THE SECOND FLOOR THIS WAS A 1ST FLOOR HOUSE. I EAS TOLD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NOT TO FILE A DISPUTE WITH MY BANK BECAUSE IT WOULD SLOW DOWN OR BLOCK MY REFUND OR RESHIPMENT. BUT THEY WERE ACTUALLY WAITING FOR THE FUNDS TO CLEAR JUST TO TELL ME TO DISPUTE WITH MY BANK OR UPS. WHEN MY CONTRACT WAS WOTH ZALES... THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND DOESN'T VALUE CUSTOMERS OR KEEP TO THEIR POLICIES OR TERMS AND CONDITIONS. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ORDERING ANYTHING FROM HERE, MAYBE YOU'LL MAKE OUT BETTER GOING IN PERSON OR JUST GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THEY'RE HORRIBLE TO CUSTOMERS IN MY HONEST OPINION.

100% trash

100% trash. They had a "$50 off your first order" flashing at the top of the screen with no asterisk or any details. It was straight and simple promo offer. Wouldn't work when I went to check out, so I messaged someone about it online and of course they are all about a power trip for their rules and policy. She didn't even know which promo code I was talking about so I screened shot it and of course she sends me this long stipulation list that was never notated as part of the promo code. She was worried about saving the company a dollar when in fact they just lost me purchasing 2 watches. Was gonna be my first time with Zales. No wonder the reviews are terrible for this place.

Absolutely no customer service…

I Ordered a necklace to give my wife for Christmas that was supposed to be delivered December 17,2024. It’s now the December 18 and it hasn’t even shipped yet. Reached out to customer care live chat. Which was absolutely no help informed me that they would have the e-Commerce department email me Once they investigate the problem in which I was never informed, as what was the problem. Tried calling customer care and remained on hold for almost an hour so I reached out by live chat again later in the evening and was informed there was no one to talk to and that it could take 10 to 14 business days for them to look at it with Absolutely no concern that this is a Christmas gift and they dropped the ball and offered no resolution or effort to make it right. So DO NOT spend your money with this company. Because once they collect payment, they are no longer concerned with you

Zales stole my diamond

Zales committed fraud against me and did a bait and switch with my diamond.  My husband originally bought my 1 carat engagement diamond in 2006 from Zales.  In 2012 he bought me a 1 carat diamond that went into a pendant from Zales.  In February 2023 we were upgrading my 1 carat diamond to a 2-carat diamond.  We purchased the 2-carat diamond from Zales and traded my 1 carat diamond that was in my pendant, also bought from Zales.  The 1 carat that was in my original engagement ring was not being traded in it was to be put into my pendant and the one in the pendant was to be taken out and traded in.  I have documentation that shows the one in the pendant was being traded in.   We gave Zales at 1101 Melbourne Rd Ste. 3041, Hurst, TX 76053 my 1 carot engagement ring, the 1 carat pendant and then they had the 2 carat diamond they were putting into my original engagement ring setting.  All 3 of these diamonds were sent off to their jeweler.  Zales had 2 rings and a pendant necklace.  We were to get back the 2-carat engagement ring that the diamond was now in my original setting, and a pendant with my diamond that was in my original engagement ring from 2006.  We just discovered on September 23, 2024, that they stole my original engagement diamond from 2006 that was not being traded in and left the diamond that we were trading in, in my pendant.  We have to take all of my jewelry in twice a year to get inspected to keep the warranty valid.  Zales has done 3 inspections since this all transpired in February of 2023 and have signed off on a diamond bond inspection for a diamond that is not in the ring, this is fraud and breach of contract.  The store manager Bridgett Barnardo at the 1101 Melbourne Rd Ste. 3041, Hurst, TX 76053 store confirmed on 9/27/24 that the diamond I am suppose to have in my ring, the diamond that was purchased in 2006 is not in the pendant, she looked at the physical diamond in the store and the paperwork. Bridgett Barnardo, the store manager at 1101 Melbourne Rd Ste. 3041, Hurst, TX 76053  then called Sherri, who wouldn’t give her last name, who we have been dealing with at their corporate office on 9/27 and confirmed to her that the wrong diamond is in the ring, that should be on a recorded line…  They just keep telling us they need to do more research.  This store did a bait and switch, took my better-quality diamond that I never authorized them to take and left the less quality diamond that was already in the pendant that was signed off on to trade in.  Zales has been committing fraud for the last 18 months.  We were not aware that this had happened until the pendant needed repaired in September of 2024 and they turned the diamond in the pendant to be able to see the GSI number and we were informed on 9/23/24 that the diamond that was in my pendant was the wrong diamond, the diamond that was in my pendant is the one that we agreed to trade in.

Lifetime warranty is BS

Unbelievable. We purchased a very pricey ring in October 1923. In August 2024, one of the stones fell out. They make a big thing about the lifetime warranty when you buy it. Pointing out that it should anything be chipped or broken or if one of the stones is lost, just bring it back in for replacement. I heard that over and over. So of course we call, and we are told it's not covered. Why? It's in the fine print; in order for you to maintain the warranty, which was never pointed out to us, you need to bring in your jewelry for an inspection every six months! Really? If you were jewelry is that good, why not just cover it? If the stone hasn't fallen out yet, what are you going to see? And who in their right mind brings their jewelry in every six months? Who has the time for that nonsense? I'd like to know how many people ever do that. So this is just a veiled way for them to not cover what they say they will cover. Oh, you didn't bring it in every six months! Give me a break. Never again. Absolutely ridiculous.

****BUYER BEWARE****

****BUYER BEWARE****, if you buy any jewelry with stones they are not covered under warranty. I bought a beautiful ring from Zales last year. It is London blue topaz and diamonds. I went in for my inspection and they told me two of the topazes were scratched on the galley. I told them I would like to send it off to be repaired and they told me only the diamonds would be covered under the warranty but not the topazes. I was like what. This was not disclosed when I purchased the ring. I am very disappointed and was told I could trade it in but I would have to purchase double what I bought it for. I want to return the ring and get another ring but I am not willing to upgrade double of what i paid for. I would like corporate to contact me for a resolution. These things need to be disclosed before purchasing.

I wish I could give Zales a zero!!!

I wish I could give Zales a zero!!!! The District manager and store manager are useless!!!!!! I spent a lot of money at this store. I went to customer service for help, no issues with them, to return something outside the return window. It stayed at the level of the District manager for months!!!!! Then they said it was way too far out of the window to do the return. YES because it took them forever to help me!!!!!!! They said my only option is to do another trade up. OH of COURSE!!!! More money in their pocket. In the meantime the rings I love from Kays have to go back because they won't work with me. They are sister companies, there is no excuse for this!!!!! We had medical issues going on with some of our relatives which is why it went outside the return window. It was by 1 week.

The sales woman is very unprofessional…

The sales woman is very unprofessional she was in the middle of helping me then she decided to take a phone call for like 15 mins I ended up walking over to Roger’s and Hollands jewelry store across from them to have my other piece of jewelry checked that I purchased from the last time I was at sales and had a bad experience. I have purchased the majority of my jewelry from the Davenport store before they closed it was a wonderful experience there. Now it’s a terrible experience no apologies and it just felt like I was an inconvenience. I would get a better sales person who enjoys their job

Don’t go to Zales

I went to Zales to get a diamond cross soldered together but they needed to add more gold to it to get it to fit the necklace. They gave me the pendant back soldered together so I had to yank on my necklace back and forth when I wanted to get the clasp to the back of my neck where it belongs. After a month of doing this my necklace I bought in Aruba broke so I bought another one and it wouldn’t go through the cross because of the way they soldered it. I took it back to them to have them try to put it in and they said they couldn’t it was soldered wrong. They admitted it! I told them they needed to fix it and I already paid for it to get it fixed right the first time and they said there was nothing they could do. They said they had to charge me again to get it fixed right. So here I am stuck with a $1500 diamond cross necklace that doesn’t fit a chain and I’m not paying THEM to fix it again. I don’t trust them. So I’m going to another jeweler that will hopefully fix it right like they should have. They are just money makers. Don’t go there!

Cheap jewelry

Necklace broke after only a few uses but was outside the return window. Their solution was to sell me a warranty plan because they said it would just break again. How about not selling cheap jewelry that breaks?
