I had a nightmare experience with Zavvi ordering MTG.
Despite following every instruction, they used their own internal delays to deny my right to a return.
I requested a cancellation on 04/12/2025 immediately after being charged for a preorder, but was told it was already "locked" for dispatch. Broken
When the item arrived, the official returns portal didn't work, forcing me to start a manual ticket on 15/12/2025.
They demanded specific photos of the seals and labels. I sent these on 24/12/2025 and they took 19 days to reply just to ask for the information again.
After their own technical errors and weeks of silence, they finally responded on 10/02/2026 to refuse the return. They claimed the item was "outside the 14-day timescale," completely ignoring that the delay was caused by their own slow customer service and broken website.
I will be complaining to trading standards if this is not sorted.

Every single order I've had delayed dispatch or cancelled over the past 9 yrs never had a smooth experience I do try to avoid but sometimes the products are too tempting lol.. but michael is Fantastic in customer service he fixed my issues fast! Shame zavvi shows no signs of improvement but they could be amazing if their system was overhauled because its not working right now at all.

Preorder an item, they shipped out the wrong one and refuse to send out the correct item, I now expect me to take time, effort and my own money to fix their mistakes before they will attempt to send out the correct item, and the customer service response is ridiculous, no phone number to call can only message and the response rate is in the days making a conversation impossible, I have several pre orders that I will now be cancelling

Thanks for the response on here I did finally receive a response yesterday but it was the same copy paste answer and not addressed any of my concerns or questions,
They just repeat that I need to return the item before they will send out the correct item, I have made it clear again that I am unable to return and if you are unwilling to send out my correct product (2 weeks later) then you need to send a courier to pick it up, I've also asked to be put through to their manager and I have not been and I have asked what zavvi will do to help reduce the stress and the water of my time in order to sort this out, seems like customer service is just a chat bot!

Have since been contacted by a different member of the customer service and they were a lot more helpful and professional and helped to resolve the issue.

I preordered a banpresto figure last October (2025)the day after the release date (26thbApril 2026) I heard nothing about the preorder I contacted them to find out the release date had moved to the 30th (no one advised me of this previously) and they assured me that my order would be on its way.
The 4th of May comes and I receive an email saying they can't forfill my order!! I contacted them to find out why and am told they weren't sent the item I preordered.
Absolutely ridiculous it was a birthday present for my partner that he'd been waiting for since October 2025! Shocking customer service , email replies are generic and sound scripted like a copy and paste job. Don't preorder anything from them or their partner company HMV!!

I have used zavvi many times in the past to purchase 4k uhd blue movies - more than likely to be sold in a steel book case
Have always been totally impressed by the service I receive from them
I tried amazon when avatar 3 was given a release date and sadly was not able to get a copy - so i tried zavvi again
Once again the service i received was 2nd to none and was able to get a 4k uhd copy of avatar 3 which really pleased me
Won’t be using amazon again for purchasing 4k uhd

Ordered an in stock item 3 days ago and paid for express, next day, courier delivery. This item was needed for a gift which will now not be received on time. I still have not even received a tracking number and can’t get a reply to my message. Cannot even find a customer service number to contact.
Would not use again.

Terrible company, they take an age to despatch and process orders , and then if something is out of stock the site isn't updated and you wait for weeks for absolutely nothing, they're basically everything you don't want from a company, its 2026, orders should be placed and despatched the same day and delivered the next.

As always when dealing with Zavvi, the interaction went well and the experience is always positive.
The item I wanted was easy to find and pay for and so I eagerly await its arrival.
What made the experience even better was that the item had been reduced by a fiver, so it was a win win!

That being said, it arrived in perfect condition and was well packaged.
Small gripe I know but i feel it’s worth mentioning.
