I've been curious about Oxbridge, and this initiative provides lots of insight into the application and interview process from individuals who have gone through it all themselves! Tiéphaine, my mentor, was truly helpful, having accumulated lots of useful tips over the course of a lifetime spent at independent schools, including one with a dedicated 'Oxbridge mentor' (who knew such a thing even existed!! the lives of the 7%!) who had read History at the very college she herself ended up studying the subject at (surprise surprise! access begets access!). Now she, along with Zero Gravity as a whole, are doing god's work by passing along at least some of the information they've inherited to those of us who have not, no doubt saving themselves from the guillotine once the revolution arrives (vive! tout ira bien, we promise!).

I was really disappointed with program as I've heard lots of positive reviews from my peers and how it helped them with applications for Uni, but my experience was not that bright as there was not only no my choice of University but neither the qualification that I'm planing to do in future - Journalism, there are lots of others courses like Jewish studies but nothing about Journalism.

My mentor has been amazing, very useful during application season and helped me buff my statements - we did go back quite a lot back and forth but eventually, I got a personal statement which was accepted by 5/5 universities

I am a student from the IOM aiming to study music at university. I believe I wouldn't have received an offer from Cambridge without Zero Gravity, as I had little help from my school. Everyone on the forums was friendly and I picked up many tips to strengthen my application and understand what life might be like as a state school student at a top university from reading replies. My mentor was incredibly helpful when it came to my personal statement, as I’d written it more extra-curricular than super-curricular and she gave me detailed advice on how to fix this. She then gave me extensive interview prep; we called twice a week and did mock interviews each time, looking at articles and scores, so that when it came to my interview I felt confident having answered similar questions before and having had the opportunity to act upon my mentor’s feedback.

I am student in sixth form with a huge appetite for learning. Zero Gravity has helped me to get closer to this vision, easing the mazes of the application process and given me a lot information I would otherwise not have had. Zero gravity has helped me immensely. I have not only used its mentoring feature, but I have also attended the different masterclasses that were available on the platform. Firstly, all of this helped me to draft a good quality personal statement that helped me get into university. Secondly, my mentor helped me prepare for the LNAT as well as interviews. My mentor also gave me advice regarding my A levels which was quite comforting. I do not think I would be able to get through the university application stage with as much ease if it wasn't for the support I received on zero gravity.

Upon joining Zero Gravity, the community encouraged me to found my school’s Law Society, with many Zero Gravity members providing discussions and debates on various legal topics, as well as cases like Donoghue v Stevenson. My mentor, Iona, played a crucial role in my academic development, providing insightful feedback and guidance throughout my sixth form experience. Iona reviewed my personal statement on repeated occasion, providing constructive criticism, and insight into the application process, as well as sharing her own experiences as a law student. This support enabled me to refine my university applications and develop a clearer vision for my future. I am deeply grateful for the impact Zero Gravity has had on my academic journey, as well as Iona's mentorship, which has instilled in me a strong desire to continue exploring the legal field both through and beyond academia.

I was living in the UK for only a few months, when my school offered me support from Zero Gravity. As someone who wasn't familiar with the UK's education system, suddenly I had access to different students' views from all over the UK, sharing their own unique academic paths, struggles and feelings. My mentors helped me to feel more confident in my abilities, overcoming my anxiety and building my first personal statement and CV.

This experience allowed me to build a stronger network on the platform and in my school. Taking all opportunities available including volunteering, telling my struggles to others, being honest with my feelings, completing Cisco's work experience (that was recommended to me by a student here). It was mind blowing for me how people can truly help each other and be there for one another despite age or abilities.

I’m am type of person who likes to have their whole future planned and so I had always thought I would take a traditional route to become a solicitor i.e getting a law degree then a training contract . So when my interest in mechanical engineering grew throughout year 12, it definitely caused me a lot of stress and unease as it never crossed my mind that this would be a field I would want to pursue. That is why my experience with zero gravity has been such an invaluable one. The whole platform was very easy to use and with the help of my mentor who was studying the degree I now wanted to pursue I was better able to understand what the degree, university life and living away from home will be like whilst getting advice on how to better navigate my first year. An aspect of the mentorship that I valued the most was the fact that I was lucky enough to have been paired with a mentor who is a woman in engineering. There are a few rumours that I had heard about what it might be like but after talking through it with my mentor she has definitely eased my nerves. Furthermore, with her help on my personal statement and interviews prep it strengthened my whole university application and allowed me to get offers from my dream universities.

Zero Gravity had allowed me to speak to a mentor that helped me throughout my exam and UCAS process. It also allowed me to communicate with a community of students that are following similar paths to the one that I am on.

Though my time with Zero Gravity really took flight a little over a year ago the things the programme and my mentor have done for me will never be forgotten. Initially I had dreams of getting to Oxford. And I did. However it wasn’t meant to be and Zero Gravity helped me to realise that it was okay. Dreams change. They often get moulded according to the unexpected and Zero Gravity showed me that there are just as great as opportunities out there. Though I may not be making history for my school in the same way by being the first to attend Oxbridge and introducing the programme to my sixth form, I am still the first to be offered a place to a high calibre Scottish University. This wouldn’t have been possible if I didn’t get the jumpstart and tailored Oxford support from my dedicated and passionate mentor.

I had a great experience with my mentor, they were great help while writing my personal statement and looking for work experience opportunities, and talking to them has strengthen my confidence in pursuing a career in computer science.

I'm someone who's very passionate about physics. I've been deeply interested in this subject even before I came into this country. Hence why I decided to pursue it at university. My experience with Zero Gravity has been overwhelmingly positive. There's a lot of help provided and the UI/UX is very good. Most importantly, the mentorship programme is incredible. My mentor, Will, has been amazing. He helped me thoroughly understand the PAT questions I got wrong and helped me work through really hard questions. Additionally, the calls were structured like an interview so when it came time to do my interview I already a few months of experience. I'm really grateful for the time he's put in and I attribute a large part of my offer to him and Zero Gravity.

I am a first-generation daughter, raised by a widowed mother. Zero Gravity has been truly life-changing for me as it has opened my eyes to possibilities I didn't think were possible, such as getting into a top 10 university in the world. It has pushed me beyond my comfort zone by giving me the confidence to take risks, like applying to Oxford even though the chances were slim. It has also opened my mind to new opportunities and paths towards my desired career in Law. Initially, I believed that the only way to become a lawyer was to pursue a law degree. However, my mentor, Tamara D, altered my perspective by teaching me that there are multiple routes to becoming a lawyer, such as a law conversion. This would allow me to study law alongside philosophy, which I am very passionate about. My mentor has been incredible. She has guided me through university applications and supported me during entry exams, such as scheduling multiple meetings to go over the Oxford philosophy tests. Thanks to her, I have gained academic confidence and lifelong skills. She has taught me not to doubt my own thoughts and knowledge. I am immensely grateful to have been paired with her through Zero Gravity.
