I purchased xtra pc after watching fake youtube video
I purchased xtra pc after watching the misleading video on youtube about how easy and effective xtra - pc is.
I ordered two one for my computer and one for a friend.
I spent endless hours on with their BOT support and did everything suggested by them to try and install xtra pc however after another few hours and no help I have giving up.
I cannot connect to the internet using xtr pc which means I cannot install same.
Their support offered is basically ZERO as all they do is send you links which you have already viewed.
Personally, stay well away from this scam. I am now in the process of contact CAB (Central Assets Bureau) as this is a money scam and a rip off.
I have requested a refund so lets see what happens

Hello Des, sorry to hear that the XPC didn't live up to your expectations. During the installation process, did you ever get to the point where you can see the Xtra-PC desktop screen & background?
Internet and Wifi are not required to use Xtra-PC however. If you have access to an internet connection, Xtra-PC will allow you to additionally install various other useful applications.
It's unfortunate that you had difficultly getting a hold of/or interacting with our Chat Support. I'm not sure what the cause of that would be though.

I looked up your order information; The order was placed July 21st, 2020. The drive was shipped out the following day on July 22nd. DHL states that the International order arrived on Aug. 16th. This time-frame is accurate according to our shipping policy (especially for International orders in the midst of Covid-19 delays):

I don't know why I bothered buying one, yet alone two. It would be easier to make a boot up stick of your own with Linux.
Wasted my money.
It was the non tech savvy computer owners I was thinking of. I couldn't get it to work properly on three laptops and a desktop PC, especially with the modern bios preventing everything.
Your original advert implied that it was simple, just plug in and very easy to use which is why I bought them. Maybe it is when you get through a setup, but it didn't prove so to me.
Guess I touched a nerve eh?

Sometimes, when a customer is in the mood for a cheeseburger; they have two options:
Sure, they can go to the store; buy some ground beef, buy some lettuce, tomatoes, seasoning. Get a block of cheese and grate it. Or just go for some pre-sliced cheese. User choice! Am I right? Some people even like onions on their cheeseburgers. I know I do! Heck, give me some jalapenos, if those are available! I'm not a mustard fan myself, I'll take ketchup over that, but hey; for those that like mustard & mayo- more power to them.
But then, whew... Customers have to take all those ingredients back home. Cook up the beef, get the cheese ready, slice the onions (cry a little), tear the lettuce, season the meat. Toast the buns (hey, I like my buns toasted, what can I say?!). Layer all of that goodness together before they can sit down and enjoy the Cheeseburger. It takes money, and time and effort. But it sure is delicious if you have the patience to do all that extra work.
Or;
That same Customer could want a Cheeseburger. Like, right now! So instead; they go into their favorite local restaurant. Sit down and order one. Might have to wait a little while, depending on the crowd and who's working the kitchen that night. But in 10-15 minutes, they can be enjoying a delicious juicy Cheeseburger just the same. Without the all the extra running around, prepping, cooking and clean up.
The point is;
Not everyone is a tech-savvy wizard. Out of the dozen and dozen of family and friends that I know, maybe two of them can actually figure out how to create something semi-comparable to what is offered in the Xtra-PC. And of those two; they still wouldn't do it. They would rather be doing something fun and entertaining.
It's great that if any techno-wizard wants to create a "Linux Boot" drive, they should go for it! But the 99% of the rest of the people out there.... well they might not have the time, patience, interests to do that. They just want their laptop/PC functional again. They just want to be able to check up on news/sports/facebook or whatever.
If you're unsatisfied with the product, feel free to contact Chat Support for a refund.

Was there a problem with the drive? An error wasn't mentioned in your review. If you have a defected drive or are unsatisfied for some reason, the Chat Support should be able to help provide replacement/refund. Or possibly troubleshoot the issue if you have some specific problem.

I am an electronics engineer and this is a scam. This entire product is based on the hope that people won't realise that what they are buying can be gotten online for free with more support. What's more it's advertised in a ridiculously unethical way, suggesting that the reason for a laptop booting up faster when using "xtra-pc" is because of 'xtra-pc" is complete nonsense, it may be slightly faster because it's booting from a brand new OS from a solid state USB pen, but anyone who's buying this likely won't know that and will think it will just make their computer faster, which it won't.

There is zero need to buy this product. You can download a copy of the latest version of Ubuntu Linux that will turn any USB thumb drive into a bootable Linux system. Downloads and instructions at: *ubuntudotcom/#download-content

Total crap it's a con from start to finish. I was suspicious from the start but gave it a go Acer Aspire 5732z wont load from Bios even though port moved to first place. Keep getting faulty device. I should have given money to save the children at least it would do some good. Don't touch them with a barge pole. Ricky

The company says below it gave me a refund...absolute lies.....which proves to me even more that they are scammers....the reply also is a year or more after I left this review.. cannot remember the date I left it but it was many months before this reply...and they sent me an email...with the heading refund...but no refund...complete rubbish....do a more detailed search online and on youtube and you will see many people complaining about this product...and don't bother with anything else the try to sell you either...Even the reply makes no sense...they say at the start that they gave me a refund but then a few lines down they are talking like there has been no contact between us...which there hasn't.

Sorry it took a while to uncover this review David. We are still playing catch up over here. Our Chat Support can track the transit state of your drive/package - so they'll be able to tell you whereabouts it is. You ordered Internationally in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, so understandably there would be shipping delays on the part of the postal carriers.
We ship drives out same day/next day from the date they are ordered. But sadly, cannot speed up the routing of mail once outside our doors.

DO NOT BUY WASTE OF £38
Bought this out of frustration, as all of my linux live CD's would not fully work on a 2005 i386 laptop running vista. Thought from the ad's this was some sort of customised slimline linux, that miracously rejuvinates old machines.
On arrival machine must be post 2007 and 64bit and it's a customised Ubuntu 18.04LTS which is a FREE distro. That'll teach me to buy in temper. :-((

DONT GET IT!!! you can get most Linux distros for free like Ubuntu, Linux, Linux mint, Debian, manjaro, and zorin os. I’m only 10 and even I know how to make a free bootable cd or usb on my laptop. ITS EASY, JUST MAKE A BOOTABLE USB, AND DONT GET XTRAPC. and if you don’t know how to make a bootable usb or cd, then just watch a YouTube tutorial. Don’t get xtrapc.

It does not work
It does not work. I am in the process of trying to return the items. I tried on a laptop that wouldn't load and a tower 10 years old. The laptop still would not load up and the tower actually works better without it. I wish I'd of listened to my higher mind and kept my money but hopefully they will stand by their money back if not satisfied. Hopefully they won't be that company.

First of all I didn't even get my first order , and complained after paying Au dollars for it jAN 31 2020 , response sorry we send you another one .
No explantation why I didn't get the first order, so received the new order 4 days ago after 0ver 2months delivery .
As for this USB stick for xtra-pc will not load on my computer , infact took it to Apple Mac laptop service for help for I have a 2011 Mac Pro laptop and said it doesn't work .
So these people who are complaining have a right to complain , can't even talk to anyone to get my money back for something that doesn't work absolutley Crap , this xtra-pc waste of money and all the trouble with emails and chatting to these robots on line no satisfaction . thats my say so helps those people who are deciding to buy one DONT .
