A fabulous camp with incredible amount of wildlife and fabulous guides! Great camp choice.
Wonderful camp, with very traditional accommodation, kept beautifully clean. The food is also very good with very attentive and friendly staff. The rooms are built overlooking the Chobe River floodplain and the sunsets are out of this world. Game drives take place twice a day in Chobe National Park, just 15 minutes drive away. This was my 3rd visit and I’ve always seen a great range of game here, including large herds of elephants and this year, lots of giraffe.
The staff, food and ambience made this a dream location. You can almost touch the milky way!
This was my second visit to Chobe Elephant Camp and once again I loved every minute. The accommodation looks a little rustic but it is extremely clean and has wonderful elevated views across the Chobe River plain. The food was plentiful and delicious and appeared many times during the day. Plenty of wildlife walked through the camp, with an elephant and her calf happily eating outside our room one evening. Drives take place in Chobe National Park, which is where we saw large herds of elephants grazing and drinking by the river, also herds of Zebra, buffalo, impala, giraffe and many more. On our first drive with our excellent guide Isaac, we saw a leopard and Wild Dogs, which I hadn’t seen on my last visit. Chobe Elephant Camp has a great vibe about it and it was lovely sitting around the log fire after dinner, speaking to the guides and other guests. Oh - and Isaac made excellent gin and tonics!!
The two late afternoons we spent on the river were amazing. Loved seeing all the elephants down at the water. Great guide, Mike, made the whole experience very special.
With elephants wandering through the grounds at night, the camp lived up to its name. The cabins were substantial and comfortable. Game viewing in the nearby Chobe National Park was outstanding, with large herds of elephant and buffalo, and groups of giraffe. We enjoyed two close encounters with lions. The guide was also very knowledgeable about birds. The boat trip on the Chobe River was a highlight and gave the best look at elephants as they bathed and cavorted in the water nearby. This made a good starting location for our Botswana safari.
