Fantastic service, outstanding food (particularly with respect to allergies), expert trackers/drivers and phenomenal animal life at every turn. Would highly recommend Kirkman's to everyone.

A marvelous facility with terrific staff, food and activities…can’t wait to revisit. Special thanks to Callum, Willy and Friday and all those glorious animals.

Of our entire three weeks on safari, Kirkman's was the best. The entire staff was exceptional, our guide and tracker made a fantastic team, and nothing could have been better. Our large room was beautifully decorated and appointed, lots of soft towels and a fabulous shower, along with our clothes freshly laundered daily. Food was delicious and plentiful, as were all the various libations in the charming bar. We wanted for nothing. As an important side, we were able to see all the big five, along with a special treat of watching three baby leopards interact with each other and mama. What a thrill!

&Beyond's reputation precedes itself. While Kirkman's may not be the must luxurious lodge, it makes up for that in service and more. The rooms are immaculate and the small details are incredible, food is abundant and delicious. The staff is by far what makes &Beyond in a class above the rest. Every game drive was an experience. And that's the purpose, not to try to spot as many animals as possible but to experience the animals. We were very fortunate to see wild dogs and we spent over an hour watching them as they were resting and slowly waking up to get ready for their next hunt. We weren't as lucky to see the kill (it happens so fast!) but to just be with them for as long as we were before and after the kill was priceless. Definitely a major highlight for me. Kim, our ranger, was so incredibly knowledgeable and our tracker, Lucky has so amazing tracking skills. I learned so much from the two of them combined. I never felt as welcomed at a hotel/lodge, etc as I did at Kirkman's. It will remain at the top of my list of places I've stayed through the course of my travels.

Kirkmans is a very nice camp. I gave it three stars as I feel it is very pricey. The staff was very nice, great guides, but our room small and structure very dated.

My husband and I spent the first part of our honeymoon at Kirkmans and we were so glad we got to experience a safari first on our trip. We felt like it started the trip off with so much awe and excitement and time moved so slow out in the bush! We couldn't believe that we had basically another 2 weeks of the trip left on our last day on safari! There was so much that happened in those four days... we saw the big 5 and then some! 7 different male lions, leopards mating, you bull elephants rough housing and having a little show down in an open field for like 40 minutes, and the most thrilling (some argue it was too gruesome) was seeing a leopard jump into a tree and eat a baby impala for about 40 minutes at night! We were so impressed with how Kirkman's was very much about creating this one-of-a kind experience for their guests! Surprise breakfasts and candlelit drink stations overlooking the river...dinner as a group with live dancing and singing in an outdoor arena. We even got to learn how to properly use our camera after taking a quick photography class on sight! It was truly the best way to begin the African adventure! We also met some great people who were able to share so many specific things to do in Cape Town by the time we left we had an entire itinerary with tips and tricks to last us our entire stay there.
