We were overwhelmed by how friendly everyone was and how clean the rooms and common areas were. The food was fantastic, as was the service! Hello Victor! We enjoyed the pool and the available paddleboards at the beachfront! Truly a great experience!
One of the most beautiful places on earth. The time there after our safari was perfect. We got to unwind and relax in a perfect place with fantastic food.
What a beautiful spot! The late check-out was pricy. We didn’t know they have a shower room and would probably have used that instead had we known.

Beautiful beaches and rooms. The pool is amazing over looking the ocean. The drive was about an hour from the airport. Wonderful food! They were very thoughtful and had food for us in our room when we arrived very late.
Pongwe Beach Hotel is the perfect place to relax after safari! We loved the casual laid back atmosphere and spent most of our days relaxing in a lounge chair with a book and a fruity drink. Our room was literal steps from the beach and you simply can't beat that! The food was great, our favorite part was all of the fresh fruit with breakfast in the morning, it was the best fruit I've ever had!
Beach paradise. Nice quiet area on the ocean to relax. The staff was very friendly and room was very clean and beautiful location. We fell asleep each night to the sounds of the ocean.
Pongwe beach is beautiful and most of the staff are lovely. I stayed here for a week which was probably a bit too long as there’s not much to do, but at the time of booking I thought I’d need a long lazy break! I dropped my rating due to a few things: 1. There seem to be very few “authentic” experiences to be had at or through the hotel. Everything offered felt very touristy and not cheap either. 2. Some not-so-great staff encounters. I saw a staff member throw rocks at cats that lived in the area. At the time I wasn’t sure if that’s what happened but I’ve seen another review mention this since so I believe this happens regularly, awful. There was also another staff member randomly asking me why I’m not married, in a judgemental way, which did not make me feel any better about being solo in a quite romantic location!
A totally relaxing and beautiful place with great accommodation, food and staff. For total relaxation this place is perfect. The warm, turquoise sea and white sand provide a welcome place to reflect after a busy time on safari.

The care the staff at Pongwe Beach Hotel gives its guests is admirable. No request was any problem and they more than helpful in arranging transportation to Stone Town and other points of interests. It is an hour, one way, away from Stone Town, but what an incredible place to kick back and relax. Specials during happy hour, fruit on the beach at 4pm., the white sand of the beach, the sound of the waves, all made for a memorable experience in Zanzibar. The individual cottages and the areas of personal space, and the resident cats and bush babies only added to my delight. I highly recommend this beach hotel.
Excellent facilities and location. Friendly staff and good food but not exceptional. We traveled a lot from the hotel - as opposed to staying on the excellent beach - and benefited from having a very friendly, informative and attentive taxi driver.

A mirage in the middle of Zanzibar! Sea View Suite was exceptional! The white sand beach coupled with the turquoise, crystal clear waters on the Indian Ocean was a gift after a week of safari rough riding :)

Absolutely beautiful resort on the white sand beach of the Indian Ocean. Accommodations, service, and meals were first class.
The Beach was right there when we opened the front door! Just breathtaking!
