Never turned up and now can’t get hold of anyone

I placed an order that should have been delivered on the 23/02/2024 on the 15/02/2024 I got an email saying they had my order but the system had lost my delivery date and could I email back the date for delivery which I did. Never heard anything again despite 3 emails trying to ask where the delivery was …. So basically no money returned and no box and now the email address is saying it doesn’t exist!!!

Xmas box not delivered

We ordered a xmas box with guaranteed delivery on 23rd December. We then got a phone call from the courier to say yes chef had posted it wrong service and I would receive it on 27th so I had to travel a hour round trip to collect my box as they would not deliver and then to find some ingredients was missing and had to go buy the missing ingredients. After contacting yeschef they said they would refund me for the inconvenience and still had no refund or response for over 10 days now. Please can you look into this I have sent follow up emails and still no response.

Dead insect in my ready meal

I purchased a ready made meal and found a dead insect inside, i went on to website and requested someone contact me explaining the problem and leaving my contact details, they contacted me several days later and are currently looking into the issue👍

Mouldy ingredients

I did use these a few times but my last box came with mouldy, rancid cheese. Contacted via email, Facebook and insta and have been ignored on all. I will not use again and definitely do not recommend!

Avoid…

Use to be fantastic great customer service delivered on time, now however repeatedly ignored by customer service and boxes just don’t turn up which defeats the object of getting the boxes! Had to go through pay pal to get a refund for 2 boxes which I still haven’t had!

Failed delivery, no one contacted me

I ordered a one-off box as a moving in gift for my brother and it didn’t arrive on its delivery date. I contacted Yes Chef to be told the next day that the delivery person had been told that he was no longer at that address? Although he’d only moved in a few days before. No one had ever attempted to contact me about this failed delivery and Yes Chef have not let me know when redelivery will be attempted and I’m not expecting to hear from them now as it’s the Easter weekend. Really disappointed as it was meant to be a nice gesture to my brother and he was really looking forward to it. Would like a full refund

Food Boxes a Hit in our household

Been using this company for a few months and can never say I've had any problems with Yes Chef Boxes itself only bad experience was with DPD the delivery company.
Meals always packed with great ingredients and as a loyal customer always have new offers coming though.

I have bought the chef in the box…

I have bought the chef in the box lasagne regularly and have always found it a lovely product until today. Seems they have opted for lower quality mince. You would think it would be the same quality since it's gone up in price in supermarkets. I won't be buying it again as the standards are definitely not meeting the price hike

Sent mouldy and sub standard ingredient …

Sadly what could be a great idea is backed up with very poor quality ingredients. Ordered a one off box with the intention of setting up a subscription. 2 days after delivery went to cook one of the recipes to find mould growing in a bag of Panko and the clearly marked (and photographed on the recipe card) ‘2 cod fillets was actually a bag of trim - apx 12 small bits of cod trim. I tried to resolve with company by sending an email with photos of the supplied food, however was told that the cod was supposed to be like this and the rest of the Panko was ok so not sure why mine is was not. Offered a £2 credit to my next box which I will obviously wont use and would suggest others avoid.

Amazing!

In my opinion, these are the best meal delivery provider and I have tried a few! All ingredients are fresh and of good quality. The recipes are lovely. The only minor downside is the menu doesn't change often. I do not eat meat so my choices are limited to fish and vegetarian. Saying that the recipes are so nice that I do not mind re-ordering the same. I haven't had anything that I would not order again. Amazing quality, amazing recipes and amazing delivery service!

Delicious

I had the Xmas box and it was delicious. All of the food was fresh, easy to follow instructions and the dinner was lovely. Loads left over too.
First time I’ve ever used one of these food services and will definitely use again.

The Worst Meal Box Subscription

Yes Chef was without doubt the worst meal box we've tried (which is almost all of them by now). We got one box, and that was enough. We had significant problems with ingredient quality (mouldy items), use by dates (so short it was impossible to eat each meal without something going off) and their customer service (non existent). We took the time to contact them about our issues, over a month ago now, and they haven't even had the courtesy to respond. My recommendation would be to avoid Yes Chef altogether, the experience with other boxes is far superior.

The quality of food sent by yes chef…

The quality of food sent by yes chef is unbelievable as far as food delivery companies go. Recipes could be a bit clearer in some case but if you get it right it's restaurant quality food at home

Worst "meal box" we've tried.

We have tried a number of "box meal" services over the past 6 months. One thing I can say is none of them are perfect, they all have their flaws. What I would say however is that Yes Chef is by far the worst we have tried.

To start the menu appears to change minimally, I started looking at their products 2 months ago and the menu seems largely the same, so after a month I can imagine you would be bored of what's on offer.

My second point would be that the order v system and subscription management is poor and confusing. They have made the system of ordering your next meal box so unclear that you end up hoping your order has been placed and will arrive as expected.

My last point would be that the advertised menu items compared to what you receive are beyond a joke. Ordering a fish fillet burger one would expect the fish to be exactly that, fillets, what we actually received was a pack of diced cod pieces. It is also worth noting that these pieces were so in consistent in how they were chopped that we had to stagger the cooking process to ensure everything was cooked through. It is also worth noting that a portion of hassleback potatoes for 2 people consisted of 2 small new potatoes each, hardly a portion in my mind.

When you initially look at this sites website it appears to offer a level of quality that on paper appears to be lacking from other services, this is not the case. My advice would be to avoid this company, I will be ensuring that after this first week I will not be continuing my subscription and will be looking to be compensated for the sub par products I have received.

Cancelled subscription…

Cancelled my subscription before my first box arrived as you can't accommodate weekly meals, but as I did this the next 'weeks' meal were automatically charged and it was the same meals as the previous box... No way to change it, unfortunately this was noticed on a Friday and they have no customer service working on the weekend, I finally got a response near the end of the day Monday which I then had to prompt a second reply, eventually they cancelled the box and gave me a refund.
The recipe cards are confusing and not written very well, given the fact the amounts state 'one packet' and that packet appears to be over double the amount needed it's hard to know weather to trust the recipe or your gut feeling, trusting the recipe resulted in the meal going in the bin and domino's being ordered, this was not the only meal that resulted in this!!! We found the rest of the meals boring and tasteless especially the katsu chicken, the best bit was the crisp I got on it.

Loved every box! Quality food & great service

Had four Yes Chef boxes so far and loved every single one! Ingredients have always been superb quality, fresh and generous. Customer service were nice enough to email me when I forgot to change my recipe choices and also changed my delivery address to my work address with zero hassle, very helpful!
Some of my favourite recipes were the Yes Chef Burger (the bacon jam was TO DIE FOR), the Chicken Katsu curry and the Parmesan Pork.
Have paused the box for now as I can’t afford to get a recipe box every single week but will definitely resub in the future!

Spoiled ,gone of ingredients

Bought a first box, was very badly packed with a smelly leaking bag of discoloured lamb mince saturating majority of fresh ingredients ,very soft cucumber,squashed cream,gone of and squashed garlic,packet of bacon with no use by date on it,dry looking ginger and not very fresh sage.Complaint straight away and send all the pictures of my disappointing looking ingredients.Customer service told me to bare while they look in to it(no apology about sending gone of ingredients).Had to chase back next day and they offer me 10£ To apologise for inconvenience (Most of food went to waste as wasn’t fit for purpose and didn’t want to risk eating contaminated food so .So I lost29.59£ and 10£ apology didn’t even cover half of the cost I paid for not fit for purpose products. I am very easy going person and understand that every one makes mistakes so I ask them if I order again can they reassure me that ingredients going to be fresh and good standard and its been10days and still no reply).
