YoCo is a criminal syndicate

It has been an absolute disaster dealing with Yoco and their useless "support staff". We have registered a new account over 4 months ago and we are still waiting for our first pay out from numerous transactions through their network. Reason for the delay is apparently not clear they just say business is not allowed and this a hospitality business... Not one single person that we have spoken to at Yoco has any knowledge of how to resolve this issue so now they are sitting with our money and collecting interest while we are out of pocket. If I didn't know better I would think this is a ****!!!

The problem starts when you try to withdraw your money that they come up with stories and immediately issue you with termination letter saying they will pay back card holders their money without even asking you the business you are doing or any investigation. Everything starts only when you try to withdraw. They have more than R27K of my money.

STAY AWAY!!!

Do not use Yoco

After 4 years of business Yoco terminated services with my Bachelorette party company and many other legal businesses in South Africa. Do not trust them! Ikhoka offer better fees. I will refuse to pay via the Yoco machine at any business and pay using an alternative method. The way they have treated customers is appalling!

I purchased a YOCO machine 7 days ago online.
It arrived and I followed all the requirements to get the machine registered. It took my ID my bank details everything. Once the machine arrived, it refused to swipe. It kept giving me an error, saying: card feature disabled. When I sent this to support they said my system has been blocked for some $hIt reason.

I have 7 businesses and 6 other credit card terminals fully operational.

I ordered them to collect their machine and refund me immediately. Lets see how that pans out.

I would NOT recommend this device to serious business people who are on the clock.

Yoco withholding payments

Feedback on yoco withholding my last payment of R2856.71 when I had been a loyal customer of six and a half years.
Bad customer services and zero concern in ensuring I am assisted.
Seeing as I have been ignored, perhaps my request will be noticed. I want the full amount to be deposited into the charity organization I supported in South Africa. The Salvation Army, Girls Home in Soweto, and have the decency to send the bank stamped deposit slip on this platform. Regards, A Frawley

Problem Registering the Card Machine with Yoco

I tried signing up/registering my Yoco card machine with Yoco, but ran into an extremely frustrating issue. The signup/setup requires the device’s serial number, and even though I entered it correctly, I was confronted with the error “card reader not allocatable” (as confirmed by the WhatsApp helpline, which suggests that the machine may have had a previous owner).

I bought my device (brand new) from (Hi-Fi Corp- A third-party reseller)-, so I’m not sure if this issue is limited to that situation, or if customers buying directly from Yoco also experience the same problem. Either way, this process should be seamless, but instead, I’ve had to spend time trying to resolve it.

Frustrating experience, but the team on Instagram was able to help me sort out the serial number issue.

A Cautionary Experience with YOCO

I would strongly urge any business owner to think very carefully before using a merchant service like YOCO. We’ve had an incredibly frustrating and damaging experience that no responsible provider should allow.

Fifteen months after a client paid for a safari to South Africa, then cancelled—after we had already paid for the non-refundable accommodation, which is clearly outlined in our policy—YOCO permitted a chargeback to go through. This is despite both us and the accommodation supplier having a well-documented non-refundable deposit policy, publicly available on our website and booking materials.

What makes this more concerning is that, by standard banking regulations, chargebacks are only valid for up to six months. After that, the client has no further recourse, and merchants should be protected. This transaction was fifteen months old, and yet YOCO still debited the funds from us.

We have now handed this over to our attorneys, and are awaiting further guidance on how to proceed. The lack of merchant protection and disregard for basic financial rules is unacceptable. Businesses need to be aware of the risks when using YOCO.

Absolutely not on.

Byron and Thandile are rockstars

Byron and Thandile are rockstars, thanks! We were scammed, I guess you could call it. We purchased from Nova Lifestyle. No delivery. Battled to contact them. Finally got an e mail offering refund. Asked that it be refunded via yoco, as this was the payment method. Contacted yoco, all good. Had to eventually send documents to risk department. They couldn't find the details of the merchant, although the receipt was there, with a merchant number and a transaction number.... I mean like really really?

Really bad company

Really bad company, since app upgrade on two occasions I took payment and then it says it went through but then when I check the history it says error and the payment did not go through and at that time my client has already left and I could not put it through again. Then when trying to contact the support they take ages to get back to you. Really bad service please look at other POS systems

A week and a half ago

A week and a half ago, we purchased a Yoco machine from Incredible Connection Somerset Mall. After conducting a test transaction to ensure everything was working, we were satisfied with the device, as the touch screen was functioning perfectly. However, the night before we needed to use it, we charged the machine, and to our shock, the touch screen completely stopped working.

We took the device back to Incredible Connection Somerset Mall, expecting some assistance or at least a fair assessment of the situation. Instead, we were met with blatant refusal to help. The staff immediately accused us of causing the damage, insisting it was user error. They completely dismissed the possibility that the machine could be faulty, placing all the blame on us without any investigation.

Their refusal to honor the warranty or even consider an exchange was infuriating. The way we were treated was unacceptable—no customer should be made to feel at fault for a product malfunction, especially when it’s clear that this was not user damage.

We are extremely disappointed with the lack of support and the accusatory attitude of the staff at Incredible Connection Somerset Mall. This experience has left us with no trust in their products or their service.

Think twice before making a purchase here—if something goes wrong, don’t expect any help from them.

No immediate payment receipts

I am a usual customer and for every electronic payment I need a payment receipt / tax invoice for bookkeeping and controlling the payments. Most Yoco terminals I have seen cannot print receipts and they want you to insert your mobile number or email to send you a receipt via SMS link or email link, so that you can print it out. For privacy reasons, I do not want to share my mobile number and email, because afterwards you often are harassed by all kind of messages. Furthermore, who guarantees that in the payment service provider chain all your information is safe? I prefer cash anyway because it is more safe for the customer.
