Yoeleo R21

I owned a Specialized Allez Sprint. It was stolen in downtown Chicago. Patrick Lino recommended Yoeleo as he had a Allez as well. The pandemic caused shipping time issues. When the product was on hand, the shipping was fast. I got my wheels rather quickly. When I had my rear wheel damaged, they got me a new one in less than a weeks time. The R21 rides like a breeze and fast! The pandemic did cause issues with them getting materials. I originally ordered an R12 but their supplier hadn't received key elements to finish making bikes. That R12 is set to arrive in a few weeks. I ended up ordering the R21 as well. I couldn't be more happier with the bike. It climbs easily! The pickup speed on it is effortlessly. It's far superior than my Specialized Allez was. I've had people stop me on this bike asking what is that because they couldn't shake me in traffic. I'm looking forward to comparing the R12 to the R21. I hope they keep making the R21! It definitely should be their top areo bike. The R12 is an areo endurance bike. The R21 is a beast of a machine.

Great quality, but it takes time shipping to Europe

First I wanna say that I can understand some of the comments made in other reviews. Nevertheless I will state that it’s indeed great quality referring to their wheelsets, but it takes some time after you ordered till you receive it.

For example I ordered 2 wheelsets and a frame (G21) around October 2022 and recently received the 2 wheelsets.
Quality is remarkable and I can’t wait to get the frame. Keep that in mind when ordering, it’s not like Amazon shopping.

I will update this review when my order is completed.

Yoeleo Wheelset Delivered

On 18 September 2022 I wrote a critical review of Yoeleo Bike. I had ordered a wheelset back in February 2022 and not received my order.

I must say that 3 days ago I RECEIVED MY ORDER AND THEY LOOK SO GOOD AND ARE SO LIGHT.

I must also give a big thanks to Tony at LICHT BIKE who is now the Australian agent for Yoeleo Bike. I don't know what Tony actually did in regard to this matter and I also must point that my original order was with Yoeleo rather than LICHT BIKE. However once I communicated with Tony, the right things started to happen. Thanks Tony

Bad paintjob with no uv protector

One year ago I ordered a yoeleo r12 frameset, the delivery was alright and the quality of the carbon and how it react when I riding it is awesome. But the paint job is awefull, the pearly white is turning yellow-ish because there ain't an uv protector in it.
I have tried to contact yoeleo on many ways but they just keep ignoring me so for me the last time I bought something there.

Payed for a frame and not received anything

I ordered a frameset at yoeleogermany. I payed directly via paypal (thanks to that) but
I have not received the frame even months after.
Jasmine from Yoeleo just kept telling me the frame would be shipped the next day, next week, etc. Unfortunately, apart from these dubious delaying tactics, nothing happened and I have to let Paypal take care of this case.

It's a shame really, as the products look good online.

Apparently you should be careful where you order.

Should I ever receive my order I will of course update this review.

Excellent build and ride quality

I don't know what the other reviews are on and I find hard to believe personally. On my experience I have nothing but good to say. I've had 50mm Pro disc and R12 frame set, and since then rim brake wheels from their UK distributor Revolution Wheels. I originally spoke to staff in China and they were very helpful as equally was Revolution Wheels on my second order. They were prompt with answering questions and nothing has been too much trouble so far. When dealing with unknown Chinese brands you want to be sure the build quality and safety is there too which people forget. Yoeleo and Rev' wheels demonstrate this clearly on their sites. They meet surpass ISO Std's and the wheels+frame were shipped with tracking and I got 15/18days later from China. It was around 15 days for frame build lead time and the rest shipping (mostly down to covid issues at ports). First impressions are wheels/frame packed really well and spare spokes mech hangers etc given. I gave the to bike shop to build up and they said easily as well made as higher end brands like specialized that cost twice as much. I was that impressed with the ride quality of DTSwiss hubs, Sapim spokes and the finish of the rims. I ordered a set of C38 Pro rim brake wheels for my other bike. This time it took only a couple of days from Revolution-wheels (UK distributor) as they were in stock. I would have no issues in recommending both Yoeleo and Dave and his team at Revolution-Wheels.co.uk.

You'll never get your wheels

You'll never get your wheels if you order from these folks. I waited 8 weeks. 8 weeks of excuses each week.
They used the same excuse 3 times: "we saw some small defect on one of your wheels. We can't ship them like that". Then they offered me a discount if I would wait "just a little longer". Whe I finally demanded my money back, they said "sorry your wheels have shipped". But guess what? No tracking info. Big surprise. I contacted paypal and opened a case, after which Yoeleo never responded. I guess they failed to respond to paypal too, because I got my money. Don't waste your time. The start of my season is ruined, because I have no wheels to race on. I ordered American made. Do yourself a favor and do the same.

Rolling The Dice

This is not a review of the product but the order process. Yoeleo Bike is a mainland China based manufacturer/reseller of carbon fiber bicycle components. Yoeleo has a ten year or so presence in the industry and does business internationally including Europe and North American. Generally their products get favorable customer reviews and are considered a 'value' line, (doesn't mean cheap), offering carbon fiber wheelsets and frames/forks, components, etc. By all accounts Yoeleo is a reputable company. What follows is a critique of the website, order process, customer service, and lastly order preparation and shipment. The website is at best adequate. It lacks the kind of detail you would expect when marketing a product to the world cycling community. Information related to the product specs, product images, manufacturing process, etc. is minimalist and making an informed decision about purchasing requires a onerous dialog with customer service representatives to get specific information. Response times are reasonable but the fact one has to make so many inquiries to get basic information that should be readily available on the product pages is very frustrating. I understand that marketing and advertising is an overhead cost that impacts margins but in the long run pays for itself. As it is the website comes across as amateurish and I often wonder why Asian companies doing international business don't give a little more thought to improving grammar and syntax, (a proof reader maybe), which would serve to make their content less confusing and incoherent. Lastly as a consumer who pays in full for a product up front the order prep, lead times and shipping time frame are unreasonable. There is NO communication whatsoever from customer service with updates on order status and shipment until the point a shipping label is printed. In my case that was a total of 56 days and now 5 days after that tracking information shows no progress beyond acceptance by China Post. I take into account the CNY, customs, slow boats, and pandemic related challenges but still it is painfully inefficient with no way to gauge when I will actually have the order in my hands. I'm continually asked for my understanding and patience but there's a point where both are now exhausted. This being my first China manufacturer direct experience perhaps this is considered normal but by any standard it sets the bar pretty low. Compared to ROC and Japan who both do a far better job this makes PRC a poor third place competitor. With apprehension and dread I await the product delivery and a scenario where a manufacturer defect would require return and or replacement. There are so many inherent risks in making purchases this way you will have to make a personal decision about whether these risk are acceptable before committing. A post delivery follow up review is forthcoming.
