Was on a tour and was taken to Toby Carvery for breakfast the plates were dirty- I find this totally unhygienic and unacceptable.

We booked a YourTour experience as a birthday present for our 90 year old Mum. Our guide, Alison Dilnutt, was brilliant! She uncovered a plethora of information, going back many generations! Our Mum learned things about her grandfather, that she never knew about, and the whole experience was interesting and engaging. Alison’s detailed research and enthusiasm for the subject matter really enhanced the presentation. Would highly recommend!
It was very well and thoroughly researched and excellently and enthusiastically presented. It opened windows into areas of family history I would not otherwise known about and I was particularly fascinated by the discovery of my grandfather's marked up map of his time in the Boer war plus his commentary on the military engagements - the product of very skilled research.
It has been the most enlightening experience to find out about our ancestors, going back to the 1700’s
Our particular “ Tour “ was presented in the most amusing and delightful manner. We learnt a lot !
This was a really well put together experience. My guide was fantastic and was able to show my family history - about which I shamefully knew very little - in a historical context which made it really come alive. Highly recommended.
This is a brilliant way of learning about your family history and connecting more closely with loved ones.
I bought a YourTour for my step-father as a birthday present. I knew a bit about my own family history already, so it was wonderful to learn more about his, with some amusing and surprising connections emerging that he had no idea about. He loved the details that we uncovered and taking time to reflect on where he has come from.
The process of providing information in advance was simple and intuitive, and the session with our YourTour guide was clear, empathetic, fascinating and most of all, moving. Having tried to do some ancestry type research in the past, I know how hard it is and how lost one can become, but our guide's expertise was evident and allowed us to cover so much more ground in the time we had.
I'd highly recommend YourTour to anyone who would like to connect with their past and present, particularly as a shared experience with other family members.
A truly brilliant experience. I learnt so much about my family that I didn’t know, and it sparked many wonderful conversations between family members. Would highly recommend to anyone
The tour with YourTour live was one of the most illuminating, joyous things I've ever done. I knew next to nothing about my female ancestors on my mother's side and learning about these remarkable women was just wonderful.
The YourTour genealogist took my family history to another level. Her knowledge and experience made the whole thing so enjoyable and she was able to navigate around public records, newspaper articles and other archive materials where I would have come up against dead ends.
There were family rumours that no one knew where they'd come from that we were able to uncover the source of and I found out things that were surprising, delightful and also one thing that was actually quite sad. The genealogist was able to handle this is such a sensitive way as to make it easily understood and not difficult to deal with.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who has an interest their family history or even just looking for a different type of gift for a loved one.
Brilliant!
