Terrible insurance company

Terrible insurance company. I fell ill a few days before my trip and was too ill to travel. My own GP was unable to see me at such short notice but when I called yourtravelcover, the person I spoke to said that my illness could be verified by a any doctor. So I paid for a private doctor to verify my illness, and spent hours providing the endless files requested by yourtravelinsurance. Only to be told months later that they had reviewed my claim and would not pay out because the medical certification was not provided by my GP. I find this ridiculous.

I honestly feel that yourtravelcover is a scam company and they will find any excuse not to pay out. Discraceful insurance company, avoid at all costs!!!

Heartless claim outcome

A gas explosion with two fatalities which meant we were evacuated from our home for 8 weeks and could not not access our passports or belongings to travel did not meet their strict criteria for cancellation. Some compassion and understanding would have been appreciated. Avoid.

I would like to give this company no stars

I would give this company no stars if possible. They refused to pay out for our missed departure and subsequent expense at making our own way to our resort, after we were trapped in the fallout of a motor way accident. Call centres also dreadful with terrible phone line quality.

Beware!!!

Communication when taking the policy out is great. The issue is once you have a policy. Unfortunately our travel was cancelled as following serious health implications with a family member and emergency surgery we were not able to travel. TUI offered to compensate us if we couldn’t claim on insurance. I contacted your travel and explained the situation and was advised it wasn’t an issue and to forward the claim through to them. After months of providing medical certificates etc from even the surgeon, signed!! I continually had to chase with never any response other than it was being reviewed. They then turned around and advised they had managed to find a sentence (their words!!) which means they didn’t have to pay out. Shameful especially as they knew we could have gone through TUI. Lesson learned book holiday through TUI but never ever use this company or any insurance company related to global.

Travel insurance and subsequently needing tests

Took out travel cover and before travel had to visit gp and sent for a scan. Gp advised to call travel insurance company,
I called and was told they’d check with underwriters. Called back and they advised my policy was null void and pressured to cancel the policy for full refund (despite not knowing what was wrong or waiting for results to see if they could cover me)
Zero sympathy and zero explanation. I refused to cancel as I hadn’t had results and might have needed to claim if we couldn’t travel. Their attitude “well we don’t know why you have blood in your urine either!”
What transpires is that I could have claimed if I couldn’t travel and also could’ve waited for results to see if I could get cover but with poor customer service and pressure to cancel I would not recommend using them.
In fact a little sympathy and a bit of explanation would’ve gone a long way!

Don’t use this company

Had money and items stolen got a police report and didn’t get anything back they just want your money for nothing don’t use them

Website doesnt work properly and took payment without me getting a policy

Found this company via TopCashback and I will never use them again.

I tried twice to process a new policy and both times my card got debited and their website froze and didn't create and issue me a policy. Now I have to run around to try and get £180+ back that was taken from my card on both occasions. For a company that relies on online transactions I think you need to sort out your website and integrations.
