As of right now Zamberlan stole $500 from me

I loved my first pair of Zamberlan's so much that I was excited to get a new pair for Christmas. After a couple of times out in the field, the laminate started peeling away. I sent in a warranty request and was asked to ship my boots to them which I did. It has been over a month since shipping and I have yet to hear back from zamberlan other than automated responses via email that give no helpful information. When i try to call (a phone number that is hard to find)customer service I am placed on hold until it goes to a voicemail that never gets responded to.
As of right now I spent $500 on a pair of boots that didn't hold up only to send the boots back and not receive any service or resolution. Such a big discrepency between a typically great product and absolutely atrocious customer service.

Really bad on wet rocks!

I bought a pair of Zamberlan 1107 Virtex walking boots recently. Fantastic comfort, in fact they’re the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had. I was glad too that they had the Vibram sole on them as I ONLY buy boots with vibram soles due to their usually great grip on most surfaces.

But I’m afraid I’ve been let down badly by Zamberlan and Vibram on this occasion. The soles are TERRIBLE on wet rocks. When I walked over the same rocks I’d walked on many times, I slipped but managed to correct my fall.

But every time now I walk on steep pavements or rocky areas, I have to be extremely careful I don’t slide. I even slipped badly on a down sloping wet pavement yesterday that I’ve walked on with no problem for 20 years!

So I’m sorry but, despite a great waterproof boot for walking on wet grass etc, please be VERY careful on wet rocks etc with these boots.

This Company is ethically and morally…

This Company is ethically and morally bankrupt
Since writing this review I have seen this on facebook, Zamberlan now sell their own orthotic insoles, after having used me inserting orthotic insoles into my Boots to the cause of the failing linings in court, Unbelievable dishonesty and hypocrisy. Go to the bottom of this review for the description from their facebook page.
These are the same depths and design as the orthotic insoles I used, that they blamed for the failing of their product.
---------------------------------------------------------
I have purchased boots twice from one of Zamberlan's UK approved retailers (legend Footwear) I also tried to resolve the issue with the UK Distributor Chris Davidson Agency, and Zamberlan itself.
Both pair developed holes in the inner lining after just 2-3 months
This ended up going to court, the defence all above relied on was that the fact that I had used orthotic heel insoles.
Millions of people use these insole for health reason.
I have used these in Salomon walking boots, and with Scarpa and Timberlands. This has never caused them to fail.
None of the information on any of these companies above state these should not be used with their Boots, their warranty does not prohibit it either.
So for them to claim after the even without any warning or mention of this in their sales or warranty literature this is not permissible and will invalidate any warranty, is to claim the consumer is at fault for having a health condition that requires them to use orthotics and at fault for the companies not setting this out in their warranty and sales literature.
If you need to use orthotics or only want to deal with reputable and ethical companies, don't buy this band or buy from these companies.
