Beware: ‘Free Shipping’ Order Led to $4,342 FedEx Duty Bill After Delivery
I have been a recurring customer and usually order baby formula to be shipped to the US. The product itself is advertised with “free shipping."
On a recent order, FedEx sent me a duty/tax bill for USD 4,342.04 linked to this shipment. Previously, FedEx had billed me about USD 8–9 in duties for the same product; when I raised it, the seller refunded me directly, and FedEx then closed the dispute without fixing the underlying billing setup.
In other words, duties and fees for these shipments are being misbilled to customers after delivery, even though the seller’s site states that shipping is free and does not clearly warn that buyers can later receive very large duty/brokerage invoices. If I had known there was any risk of thousands of dollars in additional charges, I would never have placed the order. I am currently disputing the FedEx charges and have asked the seller to correct their shipping/billing arrangements so that customers are not unexpectedly billed for duties and fees that should be the seller’s responsibility. Until this is resolved, buyers should be aware that you may receive substantial additional duty/tax invoices weeks or months after paying for your order, despite the “free shipping” claim.

Holle goat’s Mille formula is a high quality formula that ships quickly to USA from Europe. Formula works great for our son with cow’s milk protein allergy and couldn’t find anything comparable on the US market.

Nightmare experience
UPDATE: Zen Organic sent me a new shipment. The original is still in customs, unfortunately. While I'm still frustrated by my initial experience, I appreciate that this got resolved and recognize that some of the issues are due to the confusing tariffs.
My first two orders from this company were fine. Everything came on time and as ordered. This past one has been an absolute nightmare. I ordered my formula in August 2025. It's now November and it's still stuck in customs! It's been 3 months! At first, they offered to send me another 20 boxes of formula at a discount, but I already paid hundreds of dollars for my original order. Why would I pay for another 20 boxes? Then they agreed to send me a few boxes to tide me over until my order eventually gets delivered. That was helpful. It's now been several more weeks and I still haven't received my original order. I emailed support multiple times over the last 2 weeks, but received no response or resolution. I just want to get the rest of my order or a refund; otherwise, I'm going to dispute it with my credit card company. I understand some of this out of their control, but I'm frustrated and out of patience. Please just send me my formula!

Order delay
I placed an order with Zen Organic on October 15th, and at first everything seemed normal: they sent me a receipt and a FedEx tracking number. However, when I tried to track the package, FedEx marked the invoice as invalid and told me the order details couldn't be found. I haven't been able to get any shipping information since then.
