Terrible Support / App 2.0 Issues

Thank you for response and I am glad to know that you are working on app updates. Just so you know, I reached out to your support team on 2/7 with details such as smartphone type, software update version and app version information. I look forward to hearing from you again regarding this issue.

I purchased my grill (Backyard Warrior 7002C2E (7002F2) Pellet Grill with wifi) May, 2024 and I have had nothing but trouble with the app and connecting to the grill ever since. The smoker itself works great but the reason I purchased the wifi model was for remote monitoring especially for long smoke sessions.

Z Grills Email Support is AWFUL. On average, it takes 1 email and 2 followups to get A response over a few weeks! Then ,usually a few more back and forth email responses to get a (temporary) solution weeks later.

Once again, the 2.0 app lost connection to the grill and it takes multiple tries to get it to "see" the grill again let alone view the current temperature and settings. This happened again last week and once again I am awaiting a response from Z Grills Support.

I've attempted to call Support in the past and when you eventually get through or receive a callback, that team is helpful but not with technical issues.

I'm really disappointed I paid extra for a feature that only works part time and that Z Grills Support is barely available or helpful.

This grill is amazing

This grill is amazing, I have had many different smokers and live the technology this grill has, I just used it for the first time and smoked a brisket and tritip and both were amazing. We are very happy with the grill!

This is my first pellet smoker.

This is my first pellet smoker, but now I’m hooked. The Z-Grill is easy to assemble and the App makes cooking a breeze. I am more than satisfied with my purchase and are looking forward to the five year mark for my new grill.

Great smoke flavor

I’ve only had my smoker for about a month, but I’ve had no problems with it. I feel like it holds better smoke flavor than my previous smoker. Shipping was fairly fast, but they did ship the main part of the smoker And some of the components in separate boxes in separate days. I believe this is a good purchase for the price. My smoker seems to hold temperature well in the company seems to be reliable.

Problems with Digital Controller

1. Out of the box the digital controller was beoken and unable to adjust temperature.
2. Received a replacement digital controller.
3. Replacement controller didn't work at all.
4. I'm upset and asking for a refund. I've had this problem for since I bought the product.

Very Impressed

The shipment experience was exceptional. It arrived on the date that was estimated. The assembly instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. So far I have smoked four briskets on it and they turned out beyond expectations. This smoker has held temp like a champ all four times and did not waiver. I would recommend Z Grills to anyone looking to buy a new smoker grill.

Great smoker for the money.

I ordered the 7002C2E smoker as part of the “Buy 1 get 10” deal on Black Friday. The unit arrived in about 2 weeks, and it was remarkably well packaged. The instructions weren’t perfect, but they were decent. They could’ve been a little more detailed, especially in stating where some of the parts could be found. For example, it took me a while to find the axels for the wheels because they were tucked in the box with the chimney. Assembly took me about 1.5 hrs, and the components appeared to be of good quality. Initial burn-in was easy. The next day I cooked a spatchcocked chicken, and it exceeded my expectations for a first try. The temp probes and WiFi feature made cooking the chicken a breeze. It’s probably my favorite feature of the smoker. I did burn through a lot of pellets, but I live in Northern Michigan, and it’s winter. I think I’m going to have to spring for the thermal blanket. It’s still early in the game, but so far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Easy to assemble, good burgers

The grill was simple to assemble, took me a little over an hour doing it by myself, could have been faster if I had waited for an extra set of hands. Fired it up and did a 30 minute burn off before tossing burgers on for that first cook. I'm coming off a gas grill, so the pellets give it more flavor, similar to charcoal, but also adds that smoke flavor to it. Burgers were excellent and had a decent sear. Looking forward to many cookouts with this thing.

Surprisingly good grill

I decided to give the Z Grills 1100 a shot because of a promotion they ran: buy 1, get 10. For just under $900, I was curious but skeptical. A deal like that made me think these grills couldn’t be all that great.

For context, I started with a Traeger but wasn’t impressed, so I moved to Recteq and absolutely loved it. However, upgrading to a Recteq of this size would have cost me $1,299—just for one grill. So here I am with the Z Grills 1100.

After 3 months of use, I’ve smoked Boston butts, pork chops, burgers, ribs, and even four turkeys for Thanksgiving. To my surprise, the results have been on par with my Recteq. There’s a slight learning curve with this grill—particularly avoiding the bottom for longer cooks, as it can burn—but once you get the hang of it, it’s smooth sailing.

Considering the price, I highly recommend the Z Grills 1100. It’s an excellent value for the quality and performance you get.

The 700D Zgrill

I recently bought the 700D and I'm totally impressed. It keeps a even cooking temp throughout the cook for low and slow and high heat. It has one of the biggest hoppers for the all day cook. This grill looks great, cooks great and the price was right!!!

SOLID UNIT FROM Z GRILLS WITH A GREAT PROMOTION!

I purchased the 700D3 model during the Black Friday "Buy 1 get 10" promotion. It took about 2 weeks to receive two separate deliveries that made up the grill. Assembly was easy, it was nice to have the necessary tools provided as well as the gloves. The grill went together easily, all panels and holes lined up perfectly. The panels and grill body are heavy and solid, the proper gauge metal for a quality grill....is weighs in at close to 150 lbs.

The only issue that I have is with the temperature control knob. The outer knob seems a little bigger than the inner knob, so it just spins when attempting to adjust the temperature. I don't really want to glue it to the inner knob in case I need to remove/replace the control panel, so I will have to figure something out to remedy that problem. I also would have thought that being a "flagship model" for the company, and 2 temperature probes included, that this unit would have connectivity to the phone app via Bluetooth. Sadly, this is not the case.

I have tested the auger system to ensure that it is feeding correctly. I am going to complete the initial burn in tomorrow and then smoke a flat iron steak. I am looking forward to cooking many delicious meals with this grill/smoker unit!

I bought the 600D3E and overall the…

I bought the 600D3E and overall the grill is good and smokes the meat well, but a few things keep it from being 5 stars. First, the English on the instructions was very broken. Second, smoke escapes from the sides and actually discolors the side attachments, which is bad design. Third, the construction of the drip pan makes it hard to cover with aluminum foil, as the directions suggest.
