Atrocious service

As with everyone else, they rejected books that I knew were in perfect condition. They also happened to be the most valuable ones. This is after a whole debacle trying to get them collected in the first place. Shocking service and a totally unethical company.

Useless DPD not bothered to collect

Carefully packed the books, agreed the price, waited for the courier and waited and waited then a msg sorry we missed you. They will miss me if they can't be bothered to call instead sending a photo of a block of flats. Let down by DPD -never got to see if the rest of the system worked. By comparison a load of books were picked up the same day by Evri for we buy books.

Shocking

Previously, my experience has been quite good with just the occasional "missing" item.
This time, however, I sent 15 books, all in excellent, almost new, condition. Ziffit claim that 10 were not received and that another one had a damaged spine. I have photos of the books at every stage of packing and it is clear that all 15 were in the box. From an offer of £6.77 (not excessive), they have reduced the payment to £1.25. I am waiting to hear from them ...

For the third time this year

For the third time this year, they say that some books were "not received". When I have previously questioned this, they have apologised and sent the amounts in question. I hope they do so this time, as it's the most expensive book that's "missing". Considering I have been a loyal customer for many years, I think I deserve better than this.

SCAMMERS

SCAMMERS. Didn't collect on time and have not paid for the books they did collect, now over 45 days late. Also not responding to Customer Service emails.

Goods were sent in

Goods were sent in - had been checked prior. They managed to state that 'some of the pages were damaged'. This was untrue as I keep all my books in an immaculate condition. I asked for them to be returned. They refused, they said they had been burned. They asked me to "give them another chance" I said NO. Seem to think that that is the line an abuser uses to their victim.

near miss with 'not received' - be careful

They are slow to check in books. I also got the 'not received' for items which were definitely in the box. Emailed back to say that they were there, Ziffit caved and I got the missing tenner which was half the trade value.

reading the reviews I've had a lucky escape as this seems to be standard practice. If you are going to use them, make sure you take photos of what's in the box. I won't be chancing them again.

Avoid like the plague.

Like others have said, this is such very poor 'service'. I sent 73 items, some were rejected and I've no way of proving they were anything other than they say and you can't then decline the offer. Once sent, your items are gone. And as others have said, two of the largest, heaviest, and most valuable items weren't received! Yet all the other items in the two boxes were... do I claim against the courier for stealing them? Can't prove I sent everything i said i did. Shafted I believe is the term. "Hope to see you again soon" - Fat chuffing chance. Had drafted a moaning email, but I think it'll give them pleasure, so I'll redraft and report to trading standards.

Please do not use they usually decline…

Please do not use they usually decline the most valuable books you send them. It is a scam of an organisation. They don’t deserve 1 star what an utter disgrace!

Update: apparently the book wasn’t rejected it was MISSING! What a disgraceful business! Do not use !!!!!!!

Rejected books - Fraudulent Company

Rejected books for damage that was not true & said they did not receive some of the books I sent. This company should not be allowed to do business in the United States. They are fraudulent and will not show pictures of the damaged books. If you're looking at the reviews on their "claimed" page, the 1 & 2 star reviews are the most accurate. I have been re-selling used books for about a year now & have never experienced a company trying to scam the public like this. They will falsely say certain books weren't included or had excessive damage just to save money on payback.

Hmm. Mixed opinions.

Interesting, they sent me a link to a different TrustPilot review page.
Will add to this one, too.
Nifty little app and the collection by DPD was great. Needed to move a lot of books out and I was grateful.
The price they paid for each book wasn't much. I would have made more on an auction site but it would have been a lot of work so I took what might be quite a big hit for the sake of convenience.
They claimed that they lost a box and were going to pay substantially less than I was expecting. This was very disappointing but rang true with some of the e-mails below.
I sent them a photo of the box they claimed was lost, packed with all the titles and I was then paid.
From reading a lot of reviews, it looks as though there is a very real problem with this operation. It's either very badly managed or, perhaps, some of the fears hinted at by some reviewers are very real.
Glad I used it but I have my doubts about some aspects of their operation. Would I do it again? Unsure.

Rejected books which I know were…

Rejected books which I know were perfectly ok, also said on two trades that books were not received which is nonsense I know what I sent, no way of appealing or getting rejected books back. You are totally at their mercy, will not use again.

Not worth the money or effort.

This will be the last time that I will be trading in books for cash with this company, all the negative reviews are correct. The first trade in which I was supposed to get an offer with, amount was taken off at the end, about £5. Thought I'd try again and just seen that they have taken £4 off.

It was only a £10.92 trade this time for 17 items, which I'm now getting £6.92, and many of the books were brand new. Think I will be sticking to Webuybooks in the future, they have been wonderful so far, and never deducted a penny.

It’s just a scam

It’s just a scam - 4 trades and each time they take your stuff and find false reasons to not pay you what they owe you. It’s appalling, the lying is just bare faced and it’s almost always the high value items as well.
I sent them brand new unused items which they said were stained - I mean these items weren’t even opened and in particular a video game which they also claimed wasn’t in the box. I had checked meticulously every item before I sent them.
So basically they just lie. They won’t send them back so save yourself the trouble. They make a point of never accepting everything you send, no matter how perfect them items. It’s just a Scam outfit - avoid them.
