I am looking for a rental

I am looking for a rental. I have created two saved searches. I have also looked at what has come up in those searches and took the time to "HIDE" the ones that do not meet my criteria. Unfortunately, the next time I go back in to look at my saved searches, all of my hidden properties are now unhidden again. Every. Single. Time. This basically makes Zillow useless as a search tool for my needs.

Zillow-So big they don't have to care about little ole you

I am a property manager/leasing agent. Zillow completely locked my account abruptly with zero message/notification as to why or how to resolve it.... "Customer service" if you can call it that, is minimalist via email only, and what you do get is extremely slow, terrible, and barely helpful once they do respond. This shows Zillow is so big, they don't have to really care about your puny little insignificant problem at all.

A message regarding the details of why the account was locked, how to go about getting it resolved, and more responsive and personable customer service options would go a long way here.

Too bad Zillow is as big as it is... There are no comparable alternatives, they know this, and it has gone to their heads.

Update: A day later and after a robotically heartless and unapologizing email initially asking for proof we own the building or are authorized to list it for rent, and the proof being submitted to them immediately, there has been no response back as of yet and the account is still locked.

Becoming zillow premier agents…

We became Zillow Premier agents 5/29/24. Our first experience was a showing "no show," that was double booked with another Zillow agent, at the same property, 30 minutes prior. Agent support could not explain how this could happen. We agreed to paying $800/month for 4 leads who Zillow said would be verified pre-screened, pre-qualified leads that are ready to buy and are requesting to book appointments. This lead counted as one. With multiple calls, emails, and an escalation to supervisors, Zillow still has no explanation how this happened. They have now credited $250.00 for this one lead. In 2 months, we have had 2 bookings, both no shows. 2 calls were customers who already have agents, 2 calls were customers who requested to speak with listing agent only, 1 who pushed button to speak with for sale by owner, and none who were pre-qualified or ready to buy. In addition, we had multiple messages that we had missed a Zillow connection call, though our phones did not ring. We connected two phones to our account to ensure that we didn't miss calls and troubleshooted re-uploading app, resetting phone options, etc. and could still not answer calls once they did ring. Each of these went against our answer % rate and showed as missed or declined. When we received other calls they repeatedly failed to connect though we answered every time. We reported this multiple times through calls and emails and requested a refund. Agent support assured us that they were working to resolve and app was being updated and problem was being reported to their engineers then committed to follow up but would not return calls nor have ever provided compensation. Each failed lead was a missed opportunity to connect with a potential client which is impossible to put a price on. None of this was due to our phone system or lack of understanding how to answer. Our phone works perfectly for our other lead system. I’ve read reviews on a lot of platforms since this has happened to us and this has happened to a bunch of other agents. We wanted to do this review to help other people that are considering being a Zillow premier agent. Don’t waste your money it’s a scam.

Rented a very old home for $2200 in…

5506 Seldomridge
Rented a very old home for $2200 in addition to 2x year $500 for propane& electric bills over $400.! bc landlord converted heating system. Home is an old farmhouse with fields plowed several times week, thats no issue, its a farm...,expected that.....but
Landlord said would be " some activity" on property. Beautiful piece of property, but in NO way should be rented for " Residential use." Day 1& EVERY DAY since we moved in, landlord,w/ young kids, dog..., many unknown adults, etc. were ON property, either outside, Very close to house, OR
Inside Constantly.... converting heating system, etc, on roof, as he decided as we were LIVING there to replace roof, which took week, Constant Banging & workers. Replaced heating system while living there( another 4 days) which increased our electric bill over $180-$200 month.( dont forget you need propane since he converted,$500x2 Winter mths)
He cuts grass which is Very short at....Least 2-3x week for ...Hours, absolutely Ridiculous waste of gas & time! Totally Distruprive to quiet& peaceful living. And Totally Unecessary. Plus constant weed wacking, .up on porch we sit on, with snow blower up against house,Why? We swept porch daily.

He rents out the barns to contractors, who pull in loudly day& night very large trucks. His Buddies& they pull in driveway Minimal 3x day, huge, loud trucks, sit there over 45 min loud as Heĺl, on cell phones super loud, especially early a.m.
Landlord tore up steps & lawn last June...& Again this Spring. No need !!! Pulled perfectly healthy beautiful bushes out this Spring as well, creating More water when rains downstairs, & More rodents easily getting down in there...Reason for this??? No reason. He tore down (3) silos that took 4 days complete One for $
He had a cat colony living on property, Constantly attacking My cats, we spent over $ 500 get them RESPONSIBLY neutered, rabies, etc. Helping hands( Megan) ,bless them on Their own time. One poor guy had tapeworms, infection, infected hole in his neck. Landlord has Zero regard for cats, ...nor residential tenants.
In addition, our dryer broke w/ in one month of living there, dishwasher Sooo old, ⁸uses immense amount of electricity.
Havent even mentioned Amish across street, down DAILY,banging on door or doorbell repeadedly, ask for favors, constantly , rides, food, charging their generators... ringing our doorbell repeatedly at 11 p.m!!! Called 7x..on Easter( have saved calls); no emergencies..then came to door!

Weed whacking( theres No weeds against the home, or really...anywhere soo close to deck, home...?? Yet, soneone up on deck, immediatly by front door& deck, blowing who knows What? Nothing, 3-5 times week, forget about sitting outside on deck. Other than high end Country clubs, whom cuts their Short grass 3x week?
NOT by any means, no matter how pretty property is this rental peaceful place to live, especially for $2300,CONSTANT loud noise, constant trucks and large machinery daily flying through driveway,CONSTANT landlord either on immediate rental property outside near home, or inside or on top of roof...which took Over a week While we lived....in home replace, had bats coming into home at night & water pouring into bedroom, literally OVER my bed! Landlord doesnt care about paying,Residential renters, he is sooo invasive& on property DAILY. For $2300, in....THAT area...with landlord on property Daily, as well as his commercial renters pulling in Constantly& Highly Rude, I HIGHLY suggest interested renters to Severely rethink. Plenty of quiet, non invasive homes/ landlords, Far lower price for what you get there... no quiet, Respect,a Garage, updated, efficient dishwasher, no feral cat colonies, Constant big trucks sit there forever. NO WINDOW SCREENS in downstairs windows. Fridge was Filthy when moved in& is old& VERY,
Very tiny. Water gets all over basement floor even with untorrential rain. Its been (20) days, NO security deposit given back as of yet; house Far better condition as we left it than when we moved in. Dont get drawn in by the beautiful property view, So, so Not worth the $ or the daily Intrusions, you will have NO privacy& Constant loud noise& and zero peace. Are we renters not permitted or be able to enjoy privacy& peace, quiet???
And bc we took video/ photos day we moved in& day we left, showing home Far cleaner than when we moved in, this landlord
either Produce full deposit, prorated minus week tops,..OR... will Go to court, fight bc we take supurb care of everything& Will not have a terrible& Highly Disrespectful Invasive landlord KEEP OUR $.HORRIBLE year living there.

I’m a realtor

I’m a realtor. They keep blocking ads. They’re only for big companies. They listed a property and bumped me off for a big co ad. They’re trying to put small companies out of business. Their support team answers questions with gobbledygook. You can’t get anyone on the phone. The worst I have ever seen . Their mgmt is the worst I have ever seen. Going back to Craigslist and other alternatives. Even if you pay for an ad it’s really bad. Also , they download inquiries weeks after they’re sent when it’s too late. There are tons of realtors absolutely furious with them.

Listed a rental house, didn't go well

Tried listing a rental house on Thursday, however once I went through the process including uploading pictures and everything it was 'under review for 24 hours'. No biggie I figured, I'll see it go live Friday. Here I am on Saturday and now the account is locked with no reason given. The pics were just of the house, no people visible and nothing out of the ordinary. No idea why but time is passing and I lost a weekend for viewing. If you want something reliable, don't use Zillow. I would add that their Zestimate was too high for the area, likely wishful thinking to draw people in.

I would have give less than one start but no option here. I posted my property for rent in Zillow and paid $30 for premium listing all of sudden one days account is blocked and I tried to reach the customer service to know and resolve the issue, the customer service rep created a case and said that I will receive response as in 24hrs however I haven’t received any after follow up she said she escalated the case but no response since 2 days I need to send payment links to my tenants which is blocked and I couldn’t find any new tenants due to the account blocked.

Horrible sales Kevin Ramey and Ebony Wheeler

If I could give them a negative I would. All about the money. Kevin Ramey and Ebony Wheeler are horrible Zillow reps. They only care about selling more and more. Kevin hasn’t been trained enough to setup any accounts right and Ebony makes promises within your account she can’t actually do just to get you to commit more money. They will tell you whatever they want to get you to throw more money at them

I have been paying for Zillow for 17…

I have been paying for Zillow for 17 months and have yet to connect with a buyer. I think they cater to agents with a longer history. I also think they should do a better job of vetting clients making sure they are ready to buy a house not just window shop, not one contact I have received was pre a proved to buy a house. I also get calls on the same properties which are low in cost and need a lot of work. There are only 2 agents in my area you would think in this amount of time something positive would have happened. If we are paying for leads, we should be getting leads not a bunch of unqualified people who just hit a button, Zillow should be asking a lot more questions before connecting us too unproductive Callers, Zillow should also return your money when they fail to do their JOB I should not be told by their customer service I should cut my loses and move on. I am looking for other agents who feel they have been ripped off by Zillow,

Zillow has a monopoly and acts like it

Zillow has the market share of rental and property sale listings. And now, at least on the rentals side, they are squeezing small and big landlords alike. And you really have no alternative as everyone uses zillow now. They are worse than apartments.com.

You used to be able to pay a per listing fee for a rental ad on zillow, now they require you to pay at minimum $300 per month whether you have a vacancy or not.

I'm not sure how this isn't a monopoly, maybe zillow is paid up with the right politicians.

LANDLORDS, PAY ATTENTION!

The listing process was easy and I got a lot of responses. For the first time, I took applications and credit checks through Zillow, and even signed a lease through Zillow.

Never again.

After 1 month, you can not go back to view Application reports -- they EXPIRE. You better take screen shot (unlike EZLandlord where reports are kept in your portal as a pdf). Editing the lease was clumsy and time consuming as well. USE ZILLOW TO MARKET BUT DIRECT POTENTIAL TENANTS TO ANOTHER SITE FOR CREDIT CHECKS AND LEASES!

Refusal to correct bad listing data

My property was off-market for a few months due to a private transaction attempt, but when it was re-listed, Zillow failed to reset the "days on Zillow" count. As a result, it appears as though my property has been sitting on the market for over three months when it was actually just listed. This misleading information could seriously impact potential buyers' perceptions and the overall marketability of my property.

Despite bringing this issue to Zillow's attention and pointing out how Redfin handles such situations correctly, Zillow's response was dismissive and unhelpful. They simply stated, "Redfin and Zillow operate independently," without any effort to address or correct the error. This kind of snarky response and unwillingness to resolve a clear problem is unacceptable.

Zillow for sale by owner process is a sh@tshow

Zillow for sale by owner process is total CRAP. Won't accept a listing and NO verification call. Finally managed to get some clown at Zillow to answer me. They say they've changed their policy on FSBO listings to now require additional documentation to verify ownership. Be real nice if they'd disclose that up front to consumers.

Been sending emails for two months trying to get this listed but Zillow will not respond to my emails. Tried calling but cannot get through their automation keeps telling me to email. Very disappointed in their customer support team.

Zillow's customer support is appalling

Zillow's customer support is incredibly convoluted and inaccessible. Their customer support hub is just a bunch of niche FAQs. Should you happen to have an unanswered question, you can "submit a claim." However, you only have so many categories you can choose from. Once you choose among the already limiting categories, you either open to a seemingly promising contact form that then forcibly pushes you to an irrelevant form, or you are then forced to choose one of just a handful of concerns within the category. There are too many daughter pages in the site that are ill-connected with tons of dead-ends and the support center is just as ill-conceived. There is no contact for support listed if your concern doesn't happen to fit their poorly-anticipated concern options. Zillow could really benefit from a front end coding clean up and a customer support phone or email that actually responds and answers questions instead of dissuading you through a maze of dysfunctional buttons.

I am very disappointed in Zillow’s…

I am very disappointed in Zillow’s customer service. I was trying to set up my bank account for Zillow rent payment but was not able to verify it. First of all, they don’t have a direct line for ZG customers, and kept sending me to voicemail. Secondly,. I reached out via email and sent screenshots of bank not being verified. I did not hear from them for 1 week and I was close to my rent payment date. It’s surprising that company like Zillow has sh** customer service.
