I didn't get the finance from Zuto in the end because they did not work with the dealership I found a car at, but Ben was fantastic from start to finish in making sure I was looked after and nothing was too much trouble for him.

I used Zuto because they advertise “trusted dealers”, “hassle‑free buying”, and vehicles that are properly serviced and MOT’d. My experience has been the complete opposite.

Zuto set me up with a trader who sold me a car with multiple faults from day one — broken key lock, broken speaker, squeaking brakes, and clear evidence the car had not been serviced despite being advertised as such. A VAT‑registered garage confirmed the oil filter was old and untouched.

I followed Zuto’s instructions exactly: report the faults, get an inspection, send the report. Instead of supporting me, they told me the car must be taken 200 miles away for repairs and that I would have to collect it myself. This is completely unreasonable and contrary to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which states repairs must be carried out at no cost or inconvenience to the consumer.

Zuto’s “trusted trader” ignored my messages, and Zuto’s own staff contradicted themselves, blamed me for not raising issues sooner (I did), and refused to take responsibility for the mis‑selling and lack of due diligence.

I have been left with a faulty car, a potentially questionable MOT, and a service that never happened. Zuto’s advertised guarantees were misleading, and their handling of the situation has been unacceptable.

I am now going to have the hassle of escalating to the FCA, DVSA, and Trading Standards, and will be exercising my short‑term right to reject if this is not resolved immediately.

I would strongly caution anyone considering Zuto — the “trusted trader” promise is not what it seems.

George Mann from Zuto called me, explained the process, discussed different options and terms, 2 days later the whole process was done and I had the car! Just make sure you have ID, driving licence, proof of income to hand and it's quick and easy.
