⭐️ Warning to parents

⭐️ Warning to parents – Zwemclub ABC
We strongly advise parents to be cautious before enrolling their children at Zwemclub ABC. Our experience highlighted several issues that may negatively affect families.
Some changes during the contract period negatively affected us as parents. For example, while we were still at the Amsterdam location (Mirandabad), the cancellation policy was changed: cancelling a 1-hour lesson now gives only a 0.5-hour credit, while lessons must be booked in full hours. After transferring to the Amstelveen location (Meerkamp), we also discovered that lessons missed due to school holidays (which are many) were no longer reimbursed. The same condition applies to illness. These important changes were not communicated before registration.
There is no waiting list, but parents are immediately tied to a one-year contract with financial penalties for early termination, even if conditions change. Despite this commitment, service is limited: parents do not receive structured feedback on their child’s progress, and observing lessons is not allowed (only brief drop-off/pick-up). Communication is unclear with limited transparency and no direct answers to questions.
Conclusion / Warning: If transparency, clear communication, and fair contract terms are important to you, we recommend carefully considering other options before enrolling. Our experience shows that parents can face unexpected contract changes, limited service, and poor communication.

⚠️ WARNING: “Gratis proefles”? Pas op!

⚠️ WARNING – “Gratis proefles”? Pas op!

Terrible experience with Zwemclub ABC. The so-called “free, no-obligation trial” is a scam – after saying we didn’t want to continue, we got aggressive emails and even threats for payment.

Their own terms say: “Indien de ouder/lid niet wenst door te gaan, betaalt men de proefles.”
Gratis?? Echt niet!

We’ll be reporting this company to De Geschillencommissie.
Misleading, unprofessional, and waardeloos service – avoid at all costs.

VERY poor choice of swim school

This was an incredibly costly and poor choice for my daughter's swimming lessons. They make various claims on their website which were simply not true in my case: the classes were crowded, no progress updates were given, and the instructors were swamped and do not engage with the children. I complained to no avail. My daughter, although she could swim when she arrived, was kept in the pool in armbands for months. A cynical person would say that the aim is simply to slow the progress of the swimming lessons to ensure more subscription revenue. Reconsider your choice if you would like your child to learn and enjoy swimming.

Not good

Not good. My kid liked swimming more when we started and in time refused to go to lessons and was all upset. The teacher has a big group to manage which makes it less personal and effective. Don’t recommend.

Worse Experience Ever

Unfortunately, my experience with Zwem Club ABC was extremely disappointing and traumatic for my son. He attended classes at the Amstelveen location, where an unacceptable incident occurred: the instructor yelled at a five-year-old child during the lesson. When I approached the instructor to ask what had happened, as my son couldn't stop crying, he responded very rudely to me and said he didn't like my approach.

Hoping for a better experience, I transferred my son to the Amsterdam (Mirandabad) location. However, nothing improved. My son continued to be mistreated during the lessons, which led me to the difficult decision of withdrawing him from the classes. It is unacceptable for a swimming school to treat children this way, especially a child who has always loved water and never had any issues in other settings.

The worst part is that after this decision, I have been trying to cancel the contract for months, sending numerous emails and trying to speak with someone from the administration. The only response I receive is a standard email saying, "sorry, but we charge for a full year of lessons." Even after moving to another country, they continue to insist on charging us for a service we are not using.

Do not enroll your child in this swimming school. It is a complete scam. My son, who has always been gentle and respectful, ended up traumatized by this experience, and the lack of professionalism and empathy from this institution is alarming.

Too cold water

Overall, I'm satisfied, but the water has gotten too cold recently. It seems like it's energy saving, but the price here is more expensive than other places. Now im not happy with here
