I had a leak on 1 of my radiators so I called them out. Martin and Dale the 2 gas engineers came. They rang ahead saying they were coming. So polite and cheerful. Did a great job and very respectful of my home. So great thanks to both of them.

New boiler

The two lads who fitted the two fan extractors, The loft insulation lads then the plumbers Steve and Dave then james the electrician and the follow up call from Faith Palliste all did a fantastic job, could not fault them in any way.

Work OK but customer support poor

OK they did the cavity wall installation (eventually) but after several missed or incomplete appointments just for the surveys.

Once finally done I was told I would receive a sign off from a surveyor which would give the property a new EPC. And the surveyor came 30th Sept 24.

After nearly 4 months, several phone calls, unanswered emails etc I was told today that they were wrong to tell me (several times) that I would get a new EPC. And so I won't be getting that unless I pay for it myself.

I'm not selling so I don't need it but I was expecting something they told me I would get. I was informed today I shouldn't have been told that and they were wrong to do so.

I'm unimpressed by that and I told them so.

I would score them lower but the actual work was done to an acceptable standard, although it took a lot of chasing and complaining to get there.

0800 no repair

The solar panels we had installed by 0800 repair seemed to stop working after a year (on September 9th 2024). After a couple of failed attempts to get through after being on hold for more than an hour, I finally got through and was told that someone would get back to me. Two weeks later I called back and I was told the same thing. A month later and four more phone calls to them and being told the same thing (including twice being told someone would definitely get in touch within 3 days and nobody ever did). Unsure of what to do I found an email address belonging to someone involved in the original installation. After several emails back an forth involving pictures and explanations over the period of a month, someone was finally sent out who basically went into the attic, confirmed that it was off, and then left. After several more emails trying to chase it up someone was finally booked in to come on the 19th November. After staying in all day person just didn't show up. After chasing it up again I was told that they forgot to put it in their diary. The person came several days later and after a couple of hours said that they didn't know what the problem was and left. Several more phone calls to 0800 to try to chase it up and someone else was finally booked in on the 19th December. They had a look around, said that they're not sure what's wrong with it, but it might be a birds nest, then they left. I called 0800 a week an half later to find out an update and was told there was nothing on the system yet. I just called up today (14th January) and was told that they were surprised no-one has gotten back to me and that they haven't even heard from the person who came in December. So its now been more than four months of emailing, phone calling, people coming round and still no closer to a solution, as well as money being lost every month from the panels not being active. I'm not normally one to complain, but this has been an incredibly frustrating situation. I also filed a complaint with them over the phone a few months ago and haven't heard anything back.

Edit: After another two months of being passed around and trying to contact people, there is still nothing being done. I contacted 0800 repair again today for an update - only to be told that the warranty expired last month and there's nothing they can do! I couldn't believe what I was hearing after constantly chasing them up for six months, six months of losing hundreds of pounds, time wasted chasing them up and trying to deal with it, being told time and time again people would get back to me and nobody getting back to me and the high level of stress dealing with it all! I am absolutely gobsmacked that a company could treat someone like this. I can only recommend staying well clear!

Great company and totally customer…

Great company and totally customer friendly. The office team are brilliant and keep you up to date with every step. I have spoken with Amy Elderbrant and Geraldine Combe both absolutely lovely and so helpful. Today the insulation team are here and everything has run to plan exactly as organised. Well done 0800 Repair.

Geraldine Combes

Finalised my application for loft insulation with Geraldine Combes today. Like the previous review Geraldine was very to helpful not only organising the dates but also explaining what work needed to be done during each day.
Lovely friendly staff. Now looking forward to feeling warmer this coming winter with reduced bills.

ECO4 grant for a central heating…

An ECO4 grant for a central heating system was progressing well until the employee for the technical survey came on the scene.
He only contacted me at 2005hrs by text, to inform me he wanted to start the 2 - 4 hr survey at 0800 hrs the following morning. I immediately contacted him by return explaining I was not available until 1000hrs. He simply ignored it! He ignored a subsequent text 30 mins later asking him to confirm a 10 am appointment.
I therefore had no option to cancel a medical appointment the next morning and be available.
However, he did not even bother to attend until 8.35am after sitting stretching in his van for 10 mins as though trying to make the effort to come in.
When I welcomed him in I asked if we could discuss why he wouldn't change my appointment. He immediately got nasty and said he wasn't here to discuss that and had a job to do. I tried to explain I had needed to cancel a medical appointment but he wasn't interested. He forcefully continued, he wasn't going be questioned. I was upset at his attitude and simply asked him to leave.

Needless to say I contacted the company by email but they have not even replied. I have told them I do not wish to proceed with them due to their employee's behaviour and informed Durham County Council not to authorise the grant which they oversee.

I would rather employ a better mannered company who mutually respect their customers.

Andreas and Tom - Thank You

Andreas and Tom, Heating Engineers, were appointed by 0800 Repair to make a return visit to my home to complete the task of replacing several radiators. Three radiators had been replaced on an earlier visit leaving two radiators requiring replacement.
As on the earlier visit, both Andreas and Tom performed the task with obvious skill and great attention to detail leaving the areas in which they worked spotless. They also found time to explain the process and any difficulties encountered.
Andreas and Tom would be welcome back to deal with any heating issues which might arise.

Steve Hough goes the extra mile. I am writing to commend Steve Hough

I am writing to commend Steve Hough. Steve was asked to investigate a problem that I was having with my central heating system. Steve attended, a few weeks ago, and worked tirelessly for a number of hours. Unfortunately the problem was not able to be solved at that time, however Steve promised to look into the possible causes and return with a solution. As good as his word, Steve returned,as promised, and spent considerable time and effort to solve the problem. He assured me that he would solve the problem and that he wouldn't let me down. Again, as good as his word, he worked hard and eventually won through.
My system is now working perfectly and I am delighted.
I would like to commend Steve and thank him for his hard work and going "the extra mile".
Thanks Steve.

Had a boiler fitted by Dave Burn

Had a boiler fitted by Dave Burn, friendly, professional, amazing with my nosy 4 year old. Clean and efficient work done. I would recommend Dave every day of the week and twice on a sunday.
Not only did he sort the boiler but also fixed an issue from a previous job done (not by Dave) above and beyond. Left no trace of rubbish.

measuring up for solar panels

Keith came today to measure up for my solar panels. What a nice man. Not only was he professional and busy all the time he was here but he was also training up another surveyor at the same time. Listening to him he was patient and thorough with him too. He made sure that I knew what was going to happen next and how long the job should take. I’m a very happy customer.

Great, hard working guys

Paul and Paul from Newcastle came out to fit 4 trickle vents, an extractor fan in my bathroom and shaved the bottom of 4 doors for adequate air flow.
They were brilliant, really thorough and great quality of work. The work relationship they have is fantastic, great sense of humour. Would definitely have back again if needed.

JOB NO. 345712508

On Wednesday 14th September I had a new Combi Boiler fitted by two Punctual, Profesional, Happy Chappies Steve Dodds & Dave Burn. It was done through 0800 REPAIR under a Government Scheme which I qualified for at no cost to myself :) They suggested a few changes to the original survey that was carried out before install which prevented them having to go through the loft, out of the roof with gas and condensing pipes which was awesome. Instead, I have had the new boiler fitted next to the space of the old boiler which is what I had originally wanted. I was so happy that their expert knowledge made it possible. The job was carried out Neatly, Efficiently & 100% Successfully. It was a real pleasure having them work in my home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these two Engineers and would give them a 10 * rating if it was possible. EXCELLENT SERVICE FROM START TO FINISH.

Well what can I say, a first class job!
Steve Dodds and Dave Burn were our engineers today. They arrived on time ,friendly and happy to have in our home working. I have been in the trade for more than 60 years and can honestly say these two lads know what they are doing and talking about. They came up with solutions to tricky problems and nothing was too much trouble for them. They tidied up after themselves and went through all the information in a clear and understandable way.
I would highly recommend these two engineers and would have them back in my home without doubt.
Fantastic experience with 0800 repairs.
