Every question was very clear. I had no issues with trying to interpret what data/amounts were being requested. Made the whole experience less "traumitizing".

IRS website said it would be free but we were charged a fee at the end

It was easy enough to complete the forms. I was disappointed when told that I could file for free according to the IRS but at the end after doing all the work I was charged $34.99 because the adjusted gross income was below $18,000. This was not mentioned on the IRS website nor was it mentioned or advised it could happen from 1040.com either.

Any out of the ordinary forms or action was very difficult to find and more difficult to access

The process was easy as long as I needed the standard documents. However, in asking questions, it did not ask for my retirement income form 1099-4; it was very difficult to find the form 1099-MISC and the Schedule 1A part 5 to receive the senior deduction. I had to chat in all of these circumstances. In the end, the senior form was included automatically but this was not conveyed anywhere. The other forms are not able to accessed without several steps. I am not confident that the questions covered everything I needed.

It took me about 20-30 minutes and cost only $35 for federal and state, after spending hours on TaxAct and having them try to charge me $120 for the exact same thing. Very straightforward. Thank you!!

In general

In general, it was great until the state taxes. It repeatedly stated I couldn't file electronically because my taxes paid were listed as greater than my wages. I checked, rechecked, re-entered multiple times and it kept repeating an error that never existed.
