Woefully poor service

This service has gone from good to the worst since the Go Daddy takeover - do yourself a favour and steer clear. Into day 3 without access to emails in the office. No warning, no explanation, no customer service.
No one answers the phone. Support ticket may get answered the next day , only to tell you they are looking into the issue !

Incredibly Patronising Customer Service

The rudest, most condescending customer service. Seems the 123-reg assumption is if you have to ring customer service (because there is no other option available because they've locked you out of your account due to THEIR changing login process) then you're an idiot that needs to be spoken to like an idiot.
If that's how you treat people who have general queries and manners, then I'd hate to see how you react to rude customers!

Disappointing

Have to say that after regular long waits for service, it is not helpful to be cut off once the phone is answered, then to go through the same procedure (15 minute) wait again

Avoid no professionalism whatsoever.

Avoid. Still sending me Emails about how I need to spend more money with them even though I have moved and closed all my accounts down two months ago. Also take the odd good reviews here with suspicion they are possibly being paid for.

Atrocious customer support, absolute unwillingness to help me resolve issues THEY caused. AVOID

After 12years+ of managing domains through 123reg, they have updated systems and login policies, locking me out of my account. Following all their procedures and submitting all the paperwork that was requested (proof of ID, proof of address, proof of business address) bar one which doesn't physically exist (a legal doc addressed to my business), they point blank refuse to restore access to my account. I cant give them what I don't have and so their reply is
"If that is not possible then I’m afraid that we cannot assist you in gaining access to the account."
I have never experienced such an unwillingness to help work toward a solution.

Hands down the worst host in the UK

Hands down the worst host in the UK. Or maybe second only to GoDaddy. Oh wait, they are the same company!

Support response is generally AT LEAST 2 days, and don't expect useful answers or help. Usually they'll tell you "its your fault, fix it yourself" but not in so many words. That's if they respond at all.

Video streaming stopped working on our dedicated server. 123reg insisted it had NEVER worked and we should use YouTube. This is after several years of having videos watchable from our website. I could even demonstrate what the problem was, but they just would not listen.

Emails stopped working recently with no warning. Three days after submitting a ticket, was told they were doing an upgrade. My client's business had no email access for a week.

Go with TSOHost if you need a UK host. Or 1and1 if you need a US one. I can recommend both of those myself. They aren't perfect but compared to this useless company, they're amazing!

Good communication and quick service

Ion solved a problem when I tried to authenticate my domain. There was none of the frustrating back-and-forth I've experienced with other tech help desks. Good communication and quick service.

Warning!! They are not the service they used to be!

Warning!!! 123 Reg have changed their services. They used to be good but now they are appalling. They have broken 2 of my domain email forwarders. Their support is not responding. I have red warnings everywhere about product changes. I have domains across 2 Control panels one of which you can hardly administer in anymore. Emails are no longer getting forwarded and just bounce back to the sender. I paid for domains up front but now they have hijacked my emails by disallowing email forwarders unless you pay for additional email services. I can't even understand how they can make such a change when I paid in advance for a service that included email forwarders. It's a dubious action and a company I no longer want to deal with. They are now an absolute mess. Seriously...whatever you have always thought about this company being good it has all changed.

Avoid

Turned off all my forwards with out any notice email said they would move to new service for 1 year free but that's not true as they only move 1 forwarder! So all families email disappeared! Will be moving asap! Who would pay you for such a rubbish service.

By far the WORST company to deal with! DO NOT USE THEM

By far the WORST company to deal with!! Gutted I did not see all these reviews before purchasing!

I purchased two domain names and hosting/web building package! Despite buying ''professional'' .co.uk domains, when people search my site or find it on google the correct domain and business name does NOT show?! Instead it shows SecureServer.net. and no business name. Which makes your business look like a scam site!

14 days, two tickets and lots of screenshots of evidence, not to mention wasted time of me having to chase, and potentially loss of customers due to the way the website domain displays! and I STILL get told, ''its with another department now''!!

The support ''phone line'' will not help as the ''technical team'' do not handle calls.

Requested a manager call back 3 times (a process stated on their website) 8 days later and still no call!

Honestly, beyond a joke!! You cannot even point/ move the domain elsewhere as it gets locked for 60 days!!!

Please, DO NOT get sucked into 123-reg!! Avoid-avoid-avoid!

It looks like from other reviews, 123 Reg have been purchased by Go Daddy, and it genuinely seems like staff cannot be bothered, perhaps due to internal issues.

I've now found a place called Hostinger, better value and incredible support. Now I just have to find a way to get my domain name away from 123 reg and get a refund!!

Did I say: AVOID 123 reg yet??!!!!

This the second day I have been without…

This the second day I have been without emails due to an upgrade not working. agent did not do what was required to cancel upgrade and reinstate original package. some of the agents are helpful but some do not know how to set up the email records and the consequence is that you are left without a working email. I have now rang technical support again and they still say that they cannot sort it out as the are waiting for other colleagues to do their bit. so I must wait again. and try later,
Every time I ring I am told something different and the other agent was wrong, but that does not help me as I am still without a working email system.
Update at the end of the day, still not working and 123Reg is still unable to connect my emails and the guy who can sort it is still not available. I have asked for them to contact me but no one has bothered up to now. I have raised a support ticket but again no contact from them. I am losing £1000s of of business at this end and still no working system. I have paid 123Reg over £400 in the last 2 days with the hope that they will sort out the problem but to no avail.

System Migration Mess

Currently 123 reg are migrating their system and it is one hot mess. So far this month I have been charged twice for different domain renewals. They also sent emails telling me that other domains didn't renew even though my billing and account details were correct. This is because whatever they are doing has been split between two systems and one isn't talking to the other. I managed to spot my double billing but how many other people have been overcharged because of their IT mess> Time to move domain providers!

Please can I supply a 0 star!!!

Please can I supply a 0 star!!!
Like many others, have been and supported them for years, they are the crux of part of my business (over 100 international domains). Their new support system, with no correspondence, and the fact that they have no support for the new login system that has deprived our business of access to over 80 domains that are no longer renewable on time is disgusting. 3x support calls at long distance rates, and I am treated as the imbecile by an indian call center who will not listen to the entire problem before claiming my fault for having too many email addresses!

After 10+ years I’m OFF!!! Shocking

Well what can I say (maybe I’m not surprised in reading all these negative reviews) after 10+ years I’m now moving, what the actually is their GEN 2 mailbox system like - it’s in no way fit for purpose. GEN 1 absolutely fine, but when they auto shifted my 3 email addresses to GEN 2 which has the most ridiculous SPAM filter than I cannot as an individual user control….it’s just randomly SPAM important work, plus personal emails that I want to get to my phone plus download to outlook on my laptop.

There really is no sense that an individual user CANNOT mark a email sender as SAFE!!!

Mental, Just like the responses you get from technical services!!

Now nearly reached my email quota & there is literally no way to bulk delete all emails….apart from highlighting blocks at a time - their system, server & ultimately 123 reg is beyond acceptable on any level!

Sadly, Steven, you seem to have missed the key points we sought clarity from, and/or you failed to adequately clarify question 1. Alternatively, if you understood my questions 1 & 2, then you simply seem to infer that my/our contract was for a generation 1 service and the terms will not be moved to a generation 2. Therefore, you have decided to unilaterally terminate the contract, and all services rendered there under, in breach of our contract.

We/I are not satisfied with the explanation, nor are we satisfied with the standard of service.

60 day domain lock scam

Bought a domain and they are not letting me transfer it out to another registrar claiming it has a 60 day lock on, which they cannot undo! Scam artist, do not use.
