Avoid 1-800-Battery!

**Review:** Avoid 1-800-Battery - North America’s Largest Battery Store: A Disappointing Experience

I recently purchased an AC Delco battery, part number 88864542 94RAGM, from 1-800 Batteries for my Porsche Cayenne. Unfortunately, my experience with the company was nothing short of disappointing.

I spent nearly $520 on what I believed to be a reliable battery, only to have it fail within a short period. When tested, the battery only managed to reach 11 volts at best and dropped to a dangerously low 9 volts. The cold cranking amps were a mere 100, significantly lower than the expected 800.

To make matters worse, when I reached out to the company under the warranty, I was shocked to discover their unacceptable warranty policy. They proposed charging me an additional $125 just to have the battery replaced. Even if the battery was indeed defective, they would only refund a mere $50 of that amount. This policy is blatantly exploitative and shows a complete disregard for their customers.

I cannot recommend 1-800 Batteries to anyone and strongly advise others to avoid this company at all costs.

Delivery Process | Review Needed – Issue

Dear 1-800-BATTERY,

Your delivery process needs serious improvement. It has been 12 hours since I requested the service, yet I haven’t received any feedback or contact from the team handling the service. I need an update on the status as soon as possible.

You know that meeting customer expectations is everything in this business. It’s much easier to get a repeat request from a satisfied customer than to acquire a new one for the first time. I hope you can address this issue promptly.

Dead in 5 months...warranty worthless

The initial contact and service was awesome, but basically comes with no warranty. I had my battery for 9 years, spent near $450 to have 1-800-battery replace it and within 5 month the battery failed. Warranty only works if the battery is still in the car and you pay an additional $125. Don't sacrifice convenience for value. It is a waste of money.

Definitely recommend!

Kyle was awesome, and worked fast! I didn't realize they weren't local, and felt bad they had to drive all the way from Orlando (an hour away), but I was thankful they were able to get me back up and running so I could go in for work that evening. Customer service was also great helping me order the correct battery.

First the tech Kevin was great

First the tech Kevin was great. Battery changed in 5 minutes and took the old battery.
The service though. Ordered at 7:45am and told 1 hour service. Contacted them. They then said they don’t open until 9am. Then at 10:30am they told me 60 minutes or less a tech would show up. No one did then I was told it can take up to 6 hours. The tech then showed up at 2:30pm. I was at home luckily but if your on the road I would definitely not recommend this service.

Exceptional experience

So easy! Went to start my car and battery was dead. I Inquired online but wasn't sure which battery to select. They called me seconds later and discussed the differences. Placed order and within 2 hours my battery was delivered and installed! Amazing customer service and experience. I was able to track the delivery so I knew exactly when the installation tech arrived. Completely stress free purchase!!!

Bad Experience

Called to set up appointment for battery replacement after several jump starts. Needed new battery for a Ford Explorer 2021. Technician arrived after 3hrs which was fine as suv was at home. Allan the Technician spent over 1hr trying to figure out how to replace the battery and had NO idea how to remove it. He made a few calls but clearly had zero experience. He also broke 5 clips and screws trying to remove the cover. Complete incompetent service technician. Nothing personal but probably need a new career. He finally gave up and left and was assured a quick refund. Several phone calls to numerous call center employees and was informed a Supervisor will call me but after 11 days heard nothing but excuses that Supervisors are busy. Seriously what a lack of professionalism and no sense of urgency from staff. On the upside finally called back again and this time Jose was extremely helpful and actually knew what he was doing and resolved the complaint and issued me a refund minus the $99 service fee. I was fine with that and just wanted a refund so we can move on.
NOTE: If you use this service make sure you ask before you book if they actually have a Technician available that knows how to remove a battery.
Will NEVER use this company again.

I paid $364 and made an appointment for today. They were a no call no show. I contacted them and they said they would get back to me within the hour. Three hours later… nothing. Ridiculous service and customer service. Do not use this business!

Terrible Experience

Terrible Experience – Paid Upfront, No Service Provided!

I had a horrible experience with 1-800-Battery and want to warn others before they waste their time and money. I paid upfront for a battery replacement service, expecting quick and reliable assistance. Instead, they never showed up and failed to communicate any delays or issues.

I attempted to reach customer service multiple times, but getting a response was nearly impossible. When I finally got through, they gave me the runaround and provided no real solution—just excuses. Despite paying in advance, I still haven’t received my battery or a refund.

This company is completely unreliable and has zero accountability. If you’re in need of a battery, save yourself the frustration and go elsewhere. Avoid 1-800-Battery at all costs!

Awesome service from ordering on line to getting the installation complete - the tech Christopher did a GREAT job - when the local auto parts store tells you they don't have mobile service....call this company they do and the local auto parts store just lost a sale shhhh

This was one of the worst experiences…

This was one of the worst experiences we've ever had. After our battery failing on a cold St. Louis day (the temp was 2 degrees when our battery failed), we read reviews and Found 1-800-Battery. The company is focused on replacing batteries... felt simple enough. The technician arrived to our home with a different name than the technician assigned to our job in an unmarked, tinted car and immediately requested a tip. After showing him to our vehicle, he struggled with his own tools and at one point requested a nail. After he left, the car turned on... for 12 hours... and then failed again as my wife was driving our children home from school. We had to have AAA come out 5 days later. The technician reviewed the job and explained that the wrong battery had been installed and the technician force fit it into our vehicle (including bending some of the safety features that keep the battery safe). We'll never use this service again.

I ordered a new car battery from this service. I very highly recommend this company. I was kindly assisted in purchasing the correct item for my vehicle! The technician was highly knowledgeable and qualified. The delivery and installation was seamless and fully completed at my location. Again, considering everything, the experience was prompt, professional and cost effective
