One of the worse online ordering and customer service experiences I've ever had. They misrepresent lead times on their website, their supply chain management is horendous, they don't communicate anything (I mean nothing) regarding orders, when you do reach customer service they are also not informed, and if you need a refund get ready for a long ride.

Failure to Rectify a Manufacturing Error
We bought 3 chandeliers There was a lengthy delay (due to supply chain issues) on one of the lights. Due to the minimum cost of service calls by the electrician, I asked customer service if I could return the most expensive chandelier bought from them and rebuy it when the other two chandeliers were delivered, so all three could be installed at once. They said no need to return it; they would mark their records so it could be returned late if there were a problem.
When the electrician tried to hang the largest chandelier, it was lop-sided due to a manufacturing error when the chandelier was assembled in the factory. Capital was able to get us two substitute parts to make the appearance seem normal. However, these parts were a make-do (not the correct size for the chandelier as designed).
We ended up with the bottom ring of the chandelier being 17" inches from the top ring instead of a 20" spacing, as designed. I felt we ended up with a factory second chandelier and we should have received a refund of a substantial part of the original cost of the chandelier as if it were an open box item. Or Capital should have sent a perfect chandelier and paid to remove the factory second and to reinstall a perfect chandelier. Neither was acceptable to Capital.
We now have a factory second chandelier for which we paid a first-quality price.
Customer Service was very good until it came time to rectify the manufacturing error that was beyond our control.

It's been over a month and I still haven't received a refund. I have contacted them several times and they claimed they are in the process of refunding me but I'm still waiting.

I live in Delray Beach and needed some extensive lighting consultation and installation. My budget was $30,000. I went to capital lighting told them my situation and they put me in touch with one of their lighting consultants. We made an appointment, she came to our home evaluated our needs and we gave her our input. She said she would work on our request and get back to us with a plan.
five weeks later we have heard nothing. Capital lighting completely ghosted us. I would have appreciated a response even if it was we don’t think we can help you.

Ordered the fixture with "43 in stock, ready to ship". Expected to receive it in 7 days. Then received an email that the ship day had been adjusted to 7 weeks later! There were still 30+ showing in stock. In the end it showed up in 10 days, so not bad. Just confusing.

I ordered a light 9 months ago and promptly received it but it was missing a part. Customer service has promised to send the part twice which they have not done. I would recommend you purchase from someone else because if you have a problem they don’t seem to care!
This place is a scam
This place is a scam. Item shows in stock. Order placed. Credit card charged. Email update that delivery is going to be delayed 3 months. Cancellation request. No response. Dispute with credit card filed. Emails and calls never returned.
Customer service is lacking
Customer service is lacking, to say the least. I purchased a torch lamp less than a year ago and the button fell off. After several attempts at calling, without successfully getting through to anyone, I emailed. After an initial response, they have gone radio silent. Capitol Lighting has always been my lighting store of choice, but now I would hesitate to purchase from them again.

Just miserable
Just miserable. Sold me an open box light, delivered the wrong light, and bounced me off of so far 4 customer service reps in order to get it sent back. I may end up having to do a chargeback. I would really shop somewhere else, at all costs.
Very poor follow-up customer service
Purchased a hanging fixture from salesperson Barton Cross at Capitol Lighting in Eatontown. All was great until there was a problem. Barton either lied to us or failed to admit his mistake in ordering our fixture. He specifically told me the fixture would come with led bulbs, and when it did not and I asked him to correct it, his flippant reply was I should come back to his store and buy them. He refused to accept any responsibility or make any accommodation. I will never buy there again, and recommend you get every detail in writing from this guy if you do.

I am updating my review bc despite the apologies and promises that the customer service rep Zach James made he once again failed to deliver. He promised me that a light I chose would be available and ship in July. I never received anything so I followed up and he told me it was again delayed and he expected it in October. When I never heard anything I followed up again despite his promise to follow up with me and today he told me the lamp would not arrive until December. This lamp was supposed to be a make good since I reported them to the Better Business Bureau and left a review here but this company is just taking money and orders that they can’t fulfill. Next step is back to the BBB to reinstate my filing reporting this company as a fraud.

Company is racist. They have terrible service. Customers call in to this company upset everyday. Capitol Lighting treats their customers bad and their employees even worse. Horrible Customer Experience and Delivery
Absolutely horrible experience with this company. The first light I ordered never arrived, they said it was backordered and kept pushing back the delivery dates. I decided to cancel this and find another light that arrived to my house completely shattered. I spent two days on the phone trying to get a replacement item shipped from their warehouse. I was told by one agent that the replacement was on the way, another agent they would only issue a refund, and another who said the light was now out of stock and that I'd have to find a new light. I ended up having file a dispute with my credit card company to get a refund. Absolutely terrible company, definitely avoid using them for any lighting needs!
