Highly recommended

A company established in Estonia through eResidency faces two challenges: banking and accounting. Many banks are reluctant to offer services to companies with no physical presence in Estonia, and finding a reliable accounting services company is difficult.

After several less than great experiences, I am very happy with 1Office. They are highly professional and Kristina is doing a great job in looking after my books. I can recommend them highly.

Comprehensive support from obtaining e-Residency to handling company accounting and taxation

We began our collaboration with 1Office towards the end of 2020. They assisted my partner and me in acquiring Estonian e-Residency and setting up our company, Catads OÜ. The entire process was seamless and timely, with the 1Office team providing clear guidance and support at each stage. Since May 2021, we have entrusted our accounting services to 1Office, and we're fortunate to have Jekaterina Smirnova as our accountant. True partner in business development

True partner in business development. With Jekaterina Moroz-Kolodeeva as my accountant I feel my accounting and taxes are in good hands. 3.6: Not great, not terrible !

I would give a rating of 3.5 stars.

The background for my story: I moved to Sweden from the UK and started collaborating with 1Office in the beginning of May. The goal was for them to help me set up my company, through which I could work as a contractor for a big automotive car/truck manufacturer.

I started working at my current company (in Sweden) on the 13th of May, through "my own company", that 1Office helped me set up.

Today, on the 16th of September, I am now very close to getting paid for the first time since I started working (since May !), which for some, could be unimaginable. I was lucky that my partner helped me out during this period. Others might not be as lucky.

Certainly, the fact that in Sweden (as well as in the other Nordic countries from what I understand) things slow down a LOT during the summer did not help the process. I acknowledge that this phenomenon is something that 1Office can't control or have a positive impact on, but 1Office CAN (and SHOULD) warn their clients that this is a thing that happens and will impact the process.

Now, to address 1Office's performance: They did what they said they would, there were no issues around that.

However, there are many areas that could be vastly improved:

1) Communication

When "acquiring" new clients, I advise you to be honest and 100% transparent. When asked at the beginning of May whether everything (everything needed for me to be able to invoice my clients and as such get paid) can be done by the end of June (so a 2 month time period), your response should have been: MAYBE, with capital letters. Knowing well that Swedish authorities are working much slower during the summer months. Instead, your response was: YES, it is achievable. Well, didn't happen...

Which would have been completely fine if you said from the beginning: look, summer months are coming up, maybe 3+ months is a more reasonable time frame to finish everything, don't expect it sooner. Then, my expectations would have been more realistic and could have planned better for this period.

The people I've been dealing with were not proactive in communicating the progress (status) of each step of the process. Quite often after weeks of silence, I had to e-mail/message to ask what was going on.

You can do better and even though when there is no news, just send out a re-assurance text saying what is going on (you are waiting for a response from Skatteverket - Swedish Tax Agency or something like that). It only takes 5 minutes, at most.

When one of your colleagues makes a mistake that results in delays (in this case it was more than a week but I would estimate around two weeks delay), please admit it and be transparent about what is going on ! Don't make me investigate what happened (thinking I made a mistake on my end), only to find out that the mistake was on your end. This does not look good from the outside.

2) Don't ask for new clients to pay the 1-off payment for setting up accounting services unless it is time to do accounting. I paid these fee 4 months !! before any accounting activity would take place. This is unreasonable.

3) When I pay the monthly accounting fee on Monday, I expect that the person allocated to help me with this part to make contact and have a discussion about things Wednesday the latest, the same week. I should not wait a week for this to happen.

Overall, I got a mixed feeling working with 1Office, but hopefully we can improve while working together with your accountants.
