My car was broke down near a retail park 90 miles away from home. It was suddenly all the electronics were shut down, the steering wheel became very stiff. We thought it was the wheels but all the wheels were ok. We thought it was the battery but I had a newly battery replaced. We used the portable handheld jump start, when we did the jump start the engine started quickly but it started only for a few minutes then the engine died down again. So my husband had to connect the jump start continuously attached to the car battery while driving and drove to the nearest safest place and the safest place was in my cousin’s house as the house was just 2 minutes away from the retail park. But then there was smell of burnt on the positive side of alternator. So I contacted AA via apps. It was easy to contact them. There was a good communication between the customer and the AA recovery. In times like this, you feel really in panic. But then they were really efficient. There was a bit of a delay during the recovery but the thing is my family was in a safe place while waiting for the rescue as they reached to my cousin’s house. With AA road assistance, I had a basic cover only as it was a special offer for my car insurance. I paid £388 extra for this recovery as one off payment to bring my car and 2 passengers home from Altricham to Birmingham. It’s a big chunk of payment but at least my family was brought safe home. I don’t mind the payment, money can be earned again, life won’t. Thank you to the AA team for your rescue.

Really quick response, friendly and very helpful.

Was terrified after flat tyre suddenly on motorway & was on my own. They were great on the phone at helping me do what I needed to do and the man who came was brilliant & friendly. Thank you for the rescue.

One thing I’d improve on is the location settings kept getting blocked, I suggested what’s app & sharing location and that worked but maybe that suggestion would have helped as I was panicking trying to hear someone on the motorway.

The recovery technician was such a lovely person. He was very kind to us in what was a very stressful situation after breaking down on a bank holiday.

I requested a tow truck from AA. While the drivers were polite and professional, the service arrived with a significant delay, which caused inconvenience and frustration. Overall, I am not satisfied with the response time and would appreciate improvements in this area.

Initial contact was good with their telephone service. They kept me updated on arrival time. However, the operative who arrived turned up smoking a cigarette, which I think is highly inappropriate. I was told on the telephone that mechanic would carry a puncture repair kit for my car tire. However on arrival I was told this was definitely not the case. When I went to explain that that's what I had been told. The operative wasn't happy and became quite defensive stating he'd been in the business for a long time and that doesn't happen. His language was coarse and after 5 or 10 minutes he started to apologise if he was being off. You have to ask the question why be off in the first place. I was simply relaying what I'd been told on the phone. He loaded the car up and started to give me advice about not buying an EV which was of no concern to me in the situation I was in. Not a very pleasant experience at all when all I needed was support and assistance in quite a stressful situation.

Crew were excellent. Talked me through each stage of the recovery which was by car crane.
Great job and fantastic customer service.

Arrived on time, explained every step what was needed. Dropped the car off at the best possible location.

Helpful, friendly, took time to investigate and reassure

Having called the aa a member of the 1st rescue contacted me we talked he told me it would be at least 2 hours before they could get to me asked me the problem I told them the car had been switched of for about 15 mins he asked me to switch on a again I did but after a min the warning lights went off so with is advice decided to give it ago to get back home
I travelled home with no further warnings
I phoned 1st rescue and cancelled the call out

Fast recovery of the vehicle and very helpful and nice costumer service.

The technician was incredibly kind and informative, helping explain the issue in the simplest terms (as someone who is pretty clueless about cars). He helped me massively and provided a solution very quickly.

I honestly felt so happy afterwards. It’s always lovely to deal with people that genuinely have your best interests in mind and I felt that today.

Driver was brilliant polite and helpful. The only re6for not 5 stars was the text updates were wrong, although the driver was apologised for this. Would recommend the service.

The driver who picked me up was friendly and efficient . Arrived way before RAC who gave me an estimated wait time of 4 hours
