i took my vehicle to these guys for a clutch replacement .having stripped the worn clutch out they also found some more mechanical faults with my vehicle they sent a video recording explaining of the faulty parts
i gave the go ahead to do the extra repairs
these guys are above their game absolutely brilliant

I can't thank A1 Clutches Birmingham enough for their amazing service. The price was exactly as quoted with no surprise fees. I would recommend anyone with clutch trouble to put there trust in this company. True professionals who kept in contact with me every step of the way and who clearly care about their customers!

Had nothing but trouble since having a “reconditioned box” kept getting told there was nothing wrong, 4 years later the box destroyed its self. Turns out the recon boxes using cheap Chinese parts that fail after so many miles. By this point they’ve got your money and it’s not their problem anymore. Main guy there over charges and very dismissive.

Van went in for clutch £2350. Van came out with severe body damage. Owner very rude and denies and damage been made. He don't want to look at he's cctv or even take a complaint.
Now have no choice to go to police and insurance.
Owner Rick very unprofessional and rude.
Money grabbers.dishonest.rude.

Oh and if you don't like waiting be carful me and my partner sat for 1 hour and 30 mins waiting for a test drive before we booked in.

Had to have flywheel and slave replaced. Dealt with Steve. Very polite and respectful. Kept me updated on what was needed etc. However a small issue arose with the tracking. Contacted Steve and told to being car back which I did. Issue was sorted with no fuss no excuses and didn't try to say it was like that to begin with which is what you usually get from other garages. Will definitely use them in the future if needed.

Friendly, explained what needed doing and why. It cost a lot more than I hoped but I know it needed doing and my mum recomended them because she went thinking her whole clutch needed doing but it turned out just a seal needed replacing. I wasnt so lucky as mine had gone. Trustworthy and friendly as well as doing a good job.

A1 Clutches were fast and efficient. Every other garage I called were booked up for a solid week, but Raj said he could fit me in on Tuesday if I could get the car to him on Monday afternoon, and could even supply a courtesy car to keep me on the road. I felt the price was reasonable and when Raj phoned to tell me I might need additional parts he was clear about a potential cost increase, but when the clutch kit came with all the necessary parts, he returned the price to the original quote.

The only reason this is not a five star review is the disagreement I had with the technician who worked on my car. Upon collecting the car and starting it to pull off, the car made a knocking sound which was new. I have owned and driven this car for ten years and I know every noise it makes, even the squeak from the fan belt idler pulley. I spoke to Raj, who said to pull it back into the bay and the technician would look at it for me. Upon starting the car multiple times for him, and the car made the knocking sound every time, the technician said it was "normal", to which I replied "not for my car it's not".

I decided to take the car for a test drive and the knocking noise was present for the whole run, so I returned to A1 Clutches. As I pulled up behind the unit, I saw Raj walking across the car park, and as he met me he asked, "is everything alright?". I told him the car was making a knocking sound which was unfamiliar to me, to which he replied, "do you mind if I take it for a test drive?" I said yes and sat in the passenger seat. Raj stopped the car at the end of the business's driveway and said "something's wrong, and if I waited in the reception area, he would get it back on the vehicle lift and have a look".

Five minutes later he returned to the front of the unit with the car and demonstrated that the knock was no longer there. Raj said the engine stabilising mount bolts had come loose, causing the knock, and that they had now been tightened. After the trip back to work, I was happy with the clutch and lack of the knock.

To be clear, my car did not have a knock before the clutch replacement work was carried out, and the only reason I can think of for the engine's stabilising mount to be loose, is that it was loosened to allow for greater access to the side of the engine for fitting the clutch and forgotten about.

Raj was polite, professional and honest every time we spoke. It was just disappointing to feel like the technician was questioning my knowledge of my car.

Fantastic service back on rd in 24hrs on bank bank holiday saturday. Found A1 by Chance personal recommendation. Appropriately named A1. Clutch went Friday just before going holiday on saturday. Repaired serious clutch failure in 24hrs so we got off on holiday only 1day late. Suki the manager kept us informed at all stages with progress,kept his cool when we had lost ours.Video of the damaged parts etc. Honest updated quotes as the horror story progressed.special thanks to Suki and the mechanics who worked late on bank hol saturday to get us back on rd by 3pm sat. Other repairers we tried could look at for a week as bank holiday and no staff. Grandkids especially happy off to seaside after all.😎

Clutch went on Sunday, called them Monday they collected the car at 10am I collected the car at 16.30.
Good service , price was fair.

Highly recommend. Taken my car in and they sorted my clutch and gear box. As my car was already apart they noticed my drive shaft needed doing so said if I supply the part they fit it free of charge beens the car is already apart. Went above and beyond. Great updates on car and customer service. Thank you

A1 at A1 Great service. After car had sat for a year they did all they could to get me running again without costing me an arm and a leg. Would highly recommend and definitely use again when needed.

Had the clutch replaced in my vw polo, best price, very polished reception including the staff. I’m beyond pleased with my car, it’s like driving a new car. I had the work done at the Birmingham branch. The ulez charge was the only downer but that not the garage fault. I’m definitely going back to this garage when other work needs doing. Wow! Amrick was so helpful & kind. Helped me source parts for ancient campervan, patient with it clogging up his workshop for a week. Fitted next day parts come. Would never recommend this company. Had a clutch replaced. First quote £385 second review £574
Collected 24 hours longer than first Promised. Car driven 2 miles car failed getting petrol. AA called two hours working on it. Result main ECU blown. was asked if it had a recent repair. Result £11.600
Poorer as car was scrapped along with a replaced clutch. Main earth cable had not been secured properly. Company contacted but no satisfactory result taken or any accepted. Poor service. Promises not kept. Never ever again or recomend

Shopped around and was very surprised at Derbys A1 clutch garage being at least 20% cheaper than nearest quote. Tony was reassuring and they had the job done inc new cylinder and flywheel in less than 6 hours. With two year warranty. I work in Transport and this was 5 star service.
