We have used Nutec which was the acquired by Abel for many years now, lucky for us we retained Russell as our engineer. He is really knowledgeable on the Texecom system, helps us with the mobile app and always sorts out any issues we have quickly and without a fuss. He is also super friendly and a joy to work with. They do what they say on the tin. Martin's serviced our system on a couple of occasions now. Always polite, always efficient. No reason to go anywhere else.

Beware of Abel Alarms. They expect the customer to pay for their own faults in their own Abel Alarm system Nor do they have any consideration for vulnerable, longstanding customers but are concerned only with their own profits.

A false alarm sounded recently, a deafening cacophony throughout the house, blasting the eardrums of my 90 year old husband, confused & suffering enough with vascular dementia, & of myself, his sole carer. My one thought was to rescue my eardrums from certain impending deafness, for my hearing to survive. I had no idea how to turn the thing off. It was too loud for me to bear to get near enough to the control panel to see if there was a stop button. To stop the noise & save my sanity & hearing I broke the screen & the torture of about 20 minutes duration mercifully stopped. My eardrums reverberated for days.

No-one phoned from Abel to see if we were on fire nor tell me how to stop the noise.

Abel Alarms are now calling this action of self-preservation an act of vandalism; I am a vandal in my own house; I must pay £5 or £600 for the repair without which they will not continue. Actually the thing seems to be working perfectly well broken screen notwithstanding.

I will not be slandered & called a vandal.

One star is too good for them but it is not possible to give less.

We had an emergency with our house alarm yesterday and Abel's engineer Martin was incredibly helpful, going out of his way to help us. He was in our area and managed to fit us in as an emergency and got the issue sorted the same afternoon. He was very polite and helpful with advice too. Very impressed with his service on behalf of Abel.

Abel fitted us in really quick when a gap became available for our annual service and as ever, Russell turned up promptly, was super courteous and efficient as ever, and he is so knowledgeable about the systems, so you know you can trust him with any issues that need resolving. He just gets on with the job and works around you but is also super friendly…always a pleasure to have around.

We have been with Abel since 1983 and they've proved to be an excellent service provider over the years. The Leicester branch is efficiently run and in particular Sue Pimm has been very helpful and understanding now that our circumstances have changed and we no longer require their services.

Booked a days holiday from work for a maintenance visit which was scheduled as an AM visit. Phoned at 13:00 hrs and the engineer was on his way and running late. Abel emailed me at 14:14 to say Alarm Maintenance Cancelled - they couldn't even be bothered to phone me.

I used to this company for around 17 years and wished I left them sooner. but due to extremely terrible service and lack of understanding about how to treat vulnerable customers which is what I experienced which I was with them for 17 years and in my opinion you should go elsewhere.
There has been occasions where an engineer has to disrupt you at least 10 times before the job is half resolved.

My experience with the company is stay away.

My honest opinion the customer service is extremely poor and the prices to replace is a rip off.

Substandard all round.
