Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

The customer service was excellent. The two ladies who helped my mum were helpful, knowledgeable, understanding and clearly thought about the dignity of the customer.
The ladies concerned were Julie & Louise.

Peter and Julie are amazing! Very friendly and polite.
I took my friend who needed a mobility walker on Thursday.
Peter helped him choose the right one and was so knowledgeable about the product.
He made us feel at ease and at home with his, gentle friendly manner.
My friend enjoyed his time so much in the shop that he didn’t want to leave.
Sometimes my friend doesn’t get to see many people and it was lovely that Peter had the time to engage in conversation and devote at all his attention to him thank you so much.

From my first visit to the showroom I was filled with confidence that I had made the right choice. I was treated with compassion and kindness. All my questions were addressed professionally, I was guided through a range of stairlifts and rise and recline chairs which was the purpose of my visit.
There was no hard sell and I left feeling confident that I had the information to move forward.
The chair demo was prompt and very efficient. The store manager and delivery assistant went above and beyond to install and demonstrate the product.
I am very grateful for the service provided and would not hesitate to recommend the store to others.

I visited the Ableworld store in Wigan this morning after phoning up to enquire about a no rinse shower cap for my sister who had had a hip replacement. The guy who answered the phone, Peter, was really friendly and helpful. He greeted me in store and was really knowledgable about all the products available, and more importantly he gave advice on what my sister might need without being pushy. Great service!

Peter was a great help when we were looking for a wheelchair for my Mum. He asked what was important to us, he talked us through our options, and he gave us chance to try out different models, including in the boot for size. He was very professional, personable and knowledgeable. This is our second time purchasing from the Wigan store (stair lift last time) and we'll be back in future.

Went with my mum to look at buying a mobility scooter at the Wigan store on Caroline St.
My 85y/o mum finds walking becoming more difficult but would distraught if she could not go out and about anymore.
She was worried about buying a scooter because she was scared she would not be able use one. However, the sales assistant was wonderful, letting my mum have a test drive and going through everything we needed to know.
The service was exceptional and would highly recommend to anyone.

Visited the Wigan store with my mother in law to purchase a mobility scooter on Thursday the 24th of July and was dealt with by Peter. I found his professionalism and knowledge of the products sold by Ableworld outstanding. He is a pleasant jovial guy who was a pleasure to deal with and my mother in law has purchased a product.

I visited the Ableworld store in Wigan this morning, having done some online research into walkers, as I suffer from arthritis.
Recovery from left hip replacement surgery has proved difficult, as the hip has dislocated and my right hip also needs replacement. I have been extremely unsteady and at risk of an accident.
We were greeted by Peter, who proved absolutely so knowledgeable and informative about the walkers available. He let me practise using the devices in the store and I very quickly found the one I needed.
I haven’t felt so stable and confident in a long time. I really look forward to putting my walker to good and frequent use.
Many, many thanks to Peter and Julie for help in making my selection.
We brought home a current house magazine and shall look through this with interest to find other products we might be able to use.

Took my elderly auntie to Ableworld Wigan for a new walker. Peter and Julie were absolutely fantastic with her, no hard sell just interested in what would be best for her. She came away having enjoyed the experience and with exactly what she needed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Brilliant customer care from both Julie and Peter who are very knowledgeable about the goods on sale.
Julie and Peter are kind, patient and friendly and helped me a lot to understand what I needed in the way of a power assisted wheelchair. They took their time with me and spoke clearly to me - understanding my hearing impairment too.
I enjoyed the experience from first going to the shop and then returning once I’d decided on my purchase- we had fun trying the chair out and they had no problems answering our many questions!
Delivery was next day which took me by surprise as well as Peter and Julie.
First class service- I’d certainly recommend Wigan Ableworld
