Ableworld are the largest mobility retailer in the country and believe this is because we genuinely care about our customer’s well-being. We employ professional, caring and knowledgeable staff to work in our stores, and provide quality mobility aids at value for money prices.
We pride ourselves on being an ethical trader who will not pressure sell items and if we feel a product should have an assessment we will not sell these online, as we want to ensure our customers that they are getting the right product for their needs, not just the most expensive mobility aid.
Our stores stock all types of mobility aids, including Mobility Scooters, Walkers, Powerchairs, Bathing Aids and Stairlifts. You can be assured that in all of our stores we provide the same caring approach to looking after our customers, and the same range of quality mobility aids.

Ableworld Wigan - avoid like the plague! If you are a vulnerable disabled adult with mental health issues then this is the LAST place you want to go as the staff are rude, dismissive and lack empathy! Use Millercare instead where customer service is excellent!!

We were welcomed as we walked in the store. The staff listened to what we wanted, then made some recommendations and Julie left us to try them out. Once we had chosen our 4 wheel walker, with seat, Peter demonstrated how to use it and took our sale.

QUALITY. Not a cheappy internet who know or care for nothing apart from price. These guys are great. They will not sell you unless it is right for YOU. They also have repair depots and understand

Great customer service from Peter and Louise. Spent time explaining the differences etc on a wheelchair purchase. Took a while for me to choose the right one. I never felt rushed or that any question was a problem. Extremely helpful. Would definitely return to this shop in Wigan

I called at ableworld on Caroline St, Wigan this morning as I needed a wheelchair or mobility scooter to take on holiday as I have limited mobility the staff there Peter and Julie was so welcoming I couldn’t have a scooter as with not much time I couldn’t get a scooter with the correct battery for airline use so Peter got out a few wheelchairs to try and after wheeling up and down instore I settled on the one I found the most comfortable there was no pushy sales and I was made to feel at ease and not rushed. Ableworld if you read these comments your staff I’ve mentioned above are a credit to your team and when I need anything else I will definitely be returning to this store.

We were very pleased with the buying experience, and the efficient delivery. After delivery we found that we needed to remove a nut to make an adjustment, but that nut was stuck. An Ableworld technician came out the next day and sorted it out but advised that we needed a replacement tool kit as the one with the chair was faulty. This has yet to appear. Could you chase this up for me please?
We would certainly use Ableworld again.

I used this company as my dad’s stairlift wasn’t working correctly and also needed a service I was given a appt when the guy came out he hadn’t been working for the company for 3 month not much knowledge of stairlifts and had no idea , so he suggested a new chair altogether after charging for a service of the old chair !!! huge expense (when the new chair arrive week later WRONG chairs was for a outside lift ) . Which then they proceeded to try n fit , the guys had to take it away , then my dads chairlift wasn’t working at all let me add my dad CANNOT get around without this equipment . The 2nd employee then left and advised the NEW guy to fix it . Then guy then informed its in a worse state then when they started and he didn’t know what he’s doing (all this time I’m on the phone to the office ) no help at all . So dads left with no mobility and had to pay for a service which I’m not convinced he had in the first place . No call back from the office or employees who did the let’s not say job
Dad left with no idea when the chair could be fixed they just up n left basically . Disabled people put there safety in these people .
. I would NEVER recommend or use this company again

I visited the Ableworld store in Wigan to buy a power wheelchair with my daughter who is in her thirties. In the past year she has lost her ability to walk more than a few metre unaided. In an attempt to give her some quality of life (and dignity) it was decided a lightweight chair was the best option. I had phoned in advance to check on stock availability and was not disappointed when visiting in person. There were three members of staff, Peter, Dannelle and Julie. Danielle is about to leave to pursue a university placement. She has been replaced recently by Julie. All three are a credit to the Ableworld brand. They appeared happy and confident when talking about the products. Our questions were dealt with in an honest and direct manner. No question phased them and we could ask whatever we needed to. They were definitely customer centre focused and were keen to ensure my daughter was the one making the choices. Moreover they ensured before buying anything that she was totally happy with the product. They also ensured that my daughter was aware of the laws and safety aspects of owning and using a powered wheelchair.
If you live in the wider Wigan area and need some sort of aid or equipment for a person with health related issues I would definitely make Ableworld in Wigan a first place to visit.

I visited the Wigan store with my elderly dad who had received a voucher after having a stairlift installed, we were interested in walking aids and Peter could not have been more helpful. He was knowledgeable and patient, demonstrating each item willingly even though we were only intending spending the voucher so in effect he wasn't making a sale. He is a credit to the company and we would certainly return if we needed any other aids. My dad was very impressed with him and the service he delivered.
