If I could give them a zero I would

If I could give them a zero I would. They closed my account without my knowledge as soon as I paid it off. They were no longer receiving interest from me so bang they decided to close my account. This not only hurts me financially but really screws you on credit scoring. I have filed a complaint with more than one agency about them!

Run don't walk RUN

This company is the worst. Their fraud system is so conservative they reject your card on any purchase. LOWES!!! I have had to get my card re-opened almost 20 times in 2026 alone because they keep declining it on every attempted purchase. $16.00 at my company cafeteria. Clearly these idiots don't really want to be in the banking business.

Stay away from any stores that uses Comenity Bank Credit Card, Beware

**Rewritten Version**

I regret to say that my experience with the **Ulta** credit card issued by **Comenity Bank** has been extremely disappointing.

I maintained this account for several years and had never been late on a payment. On January 30, 2026, I mailed a payment to reduce my account balance, as I routinely do every few years. By February 18, 2026, I was informed that the payment had not been received and that the account was considered late. I contacted Comenity Bank and advised their representative that I would place a stop payment on the original check and issue a replacement payment, as it appeared the original payment had been lost. The representative agreed this was the appropriate course of action.

Despite this conversation, my account was not properly noted, and I was not provided with accurate guidance regarding the stop payment process. On February 27, 2026, the original check was returned due to the stop payment, a fee was assessed, and my account was subsequently closed. On March 9, 2026, Comenity Bank posted the replacement payment. Given standard mail and payment processing timelines, it is concerning that the replacement payment took nearly three weeks to be received and applied.

Based on my professional background of over 21 years working in banking, I am troubled by how this situation was handled, including payment processing delays, the lack of clear communication, and the manner in which the account was closed. Additionally, my interactions with customer service representatives were consistently unprofessional and unhelpful.

As a result of this experience, I would caution consumers to carefully consider the risks associated with store credit cards serviced by Comenity Bank, as issues such as unnecessary fees, poor customer service, and inadequate account handling may occur.
They also were going to keep my over the hundred dollars credit and not me the check. Let's see how long it takes them to do that. I will be seeking a lawyer.

this is a criminal shylock bank 35 % interest hidden criminal fraud 249 dollar yearly fees when you call to remedy the fraud they accuse you of disrespecting them, laugh at you, 14 days now over 100 calls letters complaints at bbb and consumers affairs if you want a good life stay away from these criminals they are way worse than the mafia again stay away from them as far as you can you'll thank me later.

Do yourself a favor

Do yourself a favor; don’t open a credit card account with a company that uses Comenity as the financial institution. I received a notice last year that my annual interest rate was going from 32% to 39.99% annual interest rate. I closed my account so I could keep the interest rate at 32% (which was bad enough). I continue to make timely payments. To add insult to injury; I was just dinged by one of the credit card agencies for closing my account voluntarily. I guess it concerned the credit reporting agency.

Never again

I worked at Banter and had a comenity card since working there (2021-2025). I had never had any issues, until 2026. I had made a purchase at Zales, and kept getting charged "late fees." Payments were made on time and I always checked online just to make sure. The lady i spoke to today was rude and didn't understand my concerns. She finally understood after I explained why I was upset 5 times! I still work in customer service and would never act like that. She definitely didn't want to help. Seemed like I was just bothering her. Definitely not dealing with "Banter" or comenity again.

Rewards program for Ross Mastercard is…

Rewards program for Ross Mastercard is just pure scam, can’t use it in store, it’s always “invalid rewards number”. They will advise you to call number on back of card, then associate will say no way to access rewards, will try to pass you to another number. So this thing is just a game of passing the bucket until you give up. Pure baloney!

$20 bill became $200 in a few weeks

Very unprofessional customer service, long wait times, difficult to understand the accent.
Never got a statement to pay, then unexpected interest charges on account and ridiculous late fees.
I took the card in Academy of Sports for a $20 purchase, ended up paying $200! Never going to Academy of Sports again! And this bank is like dealing with devil!

The service so bad

The service so bad! I don’t use card and I call cancel . The comenity charge me fee and fee later $73.32. That's ridiculous. The last time I call cancel . They haven’t done it.
I feel so bad . I don’t like by Victoria’s Secret. I never use .
I hope Victoria’s Secret contacts with the Comenity about balance.

Ikea Credit Card

I have an Ikea credit card through this company. I had a $1200-0% 12 month promotional plan and a $2700-0% 24 month promotional plan. I was making more than the minimal payment due to make sure the 12 month plan was paid off in time. But their system (nothing stated on the statements) splits the payment to pay towards both promo plans. So after 10 months of $1800 payments, I still had a balance of $590 on the 12 month promo plan. They stated you have to call every month and have a representative allocate the additional payments to the specific promo plan. After an hour on the phone, nothing was solved. I will be closing this account.

Worst credit card company ever

Worst credit card company ever. I have $3500 minus 18 in open credit. Could not even make a 12 dollar purchase. Not text alert or call. I had to call and deal with them not knowing why and they gave me the run around when I asked to payoff and close the account.

This is the absolute worst financial institution I have ever done business with. The customer service is horrible. They have fees you are not aware of. They back date interest. DO NOT take out credit with this lender. The worst experience I’ve ever had with a bank.

Why can't I rate it a minus 5? I opened an acount at Michaels while doing Christas shopping. I lost the card when it arrived so I attempted to make a payment over the phone. I finally reached a person who could verify me and apply a payment with a fee of $9. She said she would waive the late fee. Now I find a bill for 2 late fees compounded by service charges. When I attempted to talk to someone about it, they are steadfast in charging me 2 late fees and service charges despite the earlier call. Why would I think I'd have anything on the card when I thought it had been paid off with the first call. Worst experience ever. Paid the exorbitant fees and closed the card. I won't be back to Michael's. Find a better company Michael's.

I paid at due date, but got Late Fee

I paid at due date, but their on-line system force you to choose next (Late) day payment after 5pm EST. Called customer support and they told me that understand how I fee, but will not do anything about Late Fee (which I will see on y account tomorrow) because you can find the info about due time 5pm in their statements and hang up on me.
