I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Absolute Domestics. I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others don’t go through the same frustration, I’m from Darwin.
I booked an end-of-lease clean for my 33m² furnished rental apartment. I confirmed the details over the phone with the cleaner beforehand, including the type of clean and the price. Two cleaners arrived and worked for 3.5 hours (1 hour and 45 minutes each). After they were done, I transferred the agreed payment.
As this was my first time hiring a cleaner, I wasn’t aware I was supposed to provide a list of tasks. When the cleaner asked what type of clean it was, I explained it was an end-of-lease clean and asked if he needed anything else. He said no, so I assumed everything typically included in an end-of-lease clean would be done. If I had known a list was required, I would have gladly provided one.
When I returned to inspect the apartment, I was shocked by the poor standard of cleaning. The fridge and freezer were completely untouched, and the small balcony had not been cleaned at all. My furniture, including side tables and storage units, still had visible dust on them. Under the bed was full of dust, as it hadn’t been touched. Additionally, some surfaces had been wiped, but they were left wet and dirty, which made it worse.
The only areas that were cleaned to an acceptable standard were the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. However, the entire apartment’s condition did not reflect 3.5 hours of professional cleaning.
I contacted Absolute Domestics immediately and shared photos of the issues. Their customer service team was polite, proactive, and tried their best to assist me. They followed up with the cleaner and informed me he wasn’t answering their calls. Despite their efforts, I had to clean most of the apartment myself since I was moving out the next day.
After multiple follow-ups, they finally reached the cleaner, who only agreed to refund one hour’s worth of work (30 minutes per cleaner). This was unacceptable given the amount of work left undone. To top it off, the cleaner sent me rude messages saying I am not considerate and if you had 3.5 hours to clean do you think you can do it?, he also asked me to pick up the cash refund from his house because he didn’t have money in his bank account. This was completely unprofessional and straight out disrespectful.
While Absolute Domestics’ customer service team tried to help, the overall experience was terrible. The cleaner’s attitude, lack of accountability, and the poor cleaning standards left me feeling let down. I wouldn’t recommend this company, and I hope they reconsider the cleaners they work with to avoid others facing similar issues.

It has been very easy to find, schedule and make changes with AbDom. Their customer service is responsive via both Text and Email - which makes things so much easier.
.I had a terrible experience with Absolute Domestic. I hired them to clean my home, and they sent two very young cleaners, J and J, who were supposed to work for 5 hours. However, my electronic lock records show they were only present for 4 hours. Not only did they fail to complete the basic cleaning tasks, but for instance, they created a mess in the kitchen themselves and left it unclean! I had an important work meeting scheduled after they were supposed to finish, but due to their incompetence, I had to rush around to clean the house myself.
When I provided evidence to Absolute Domestic, they completely shirked their responsibility, claiming the cleaners were independent contractors. They charged me for 5 hours of work but only provided 4 hours of no service just presence! This is theft. Their lack of accountability is unacceptable. The countless emails and phone calls I made to resolve this issue were a complete waste of my time and energy. I advise anyone to stay far away from this company.

I appreciate you taking the time to respond, however, I am disappointed to see that you have continued to repeat false statements and misrepresentations despite the evidence I have provided here.
There are two screenshots of the door lock. The second one clearly shows that the last time the door was opened by the cleaners was at 2:17 PM! My arrival time is also clear, which was after 5 PM, and you can compare this time with the time I took the photos after entering the house.
Regarding their arrival time, I can also provide a screenshot of the door lock and their call to my mobile phone because when they arrived they didn't know how to get in and called me. I am ready to share more images and documents here.
There's no need to repeatedly lie about their arrival and departure times by denying what I told you in the phone call! Fortunately, I emailed you before the phone call, and now in the screenshot I've attached from my email, I've clearly mentioned their arrival and departure times.
There are no paint stains on the floor of my house, and what you see are garbage particles that I vacuumed after they left. The only things that are pre-existing! were a few full garbage cans, some rubbish on the floor, some dry leaves, and some stains on the kitchen and toilet surfaces, which is why I hired cleaners for 5 hours! However, neither of these two cleaners removed any of these.
This constant repetition of you saying that someone brought and dumped the garbage later and took a picture is a slander and can have legal consequences for you if you don't apologies. I have attached all my statements with evidence, including the time and date the photos were taken, my arrival time, and a screenshot of the text message I sent you when I got home and saw the situation.
What I'm saying is completely clear and supported by evidence.

Booked a move out clean for Sunshine Coast in Dec 24. Two cleaners were supposed to come for 3 hours. Only one showed up. Cleaner got into an argument with the oven cleaner when cleaning the kitchen, rather than begin somewhere else in the house and let the oven cleaner finish up. Bathrooms cleaned to acceptable standard.
Ceiling fans weren't cleaned in any room. Kitchen wasn't cleaned at lower level on cupboards and food splash marks left either side of the dishwasher. Entrance hall and lounge areas (tiled) were not mopped.
When I submitted feedback after the clean to AD, the "customer service" person rang me to find out what had happened, ignoring all of the issues I'd identified, focussing solely on why I hadn't given the cleaner a priority list.
This company has no appropriate control level over the cleaners they use so it's a lottery as to what outcome you'll get. Then they compound that by having a call back system that blames the customer when their service is poor.
Avoid them unless your desperate or fancy rolling the dice. If I could rate it less than one star I would.

Our domestic cleaner was briefed prior to the first clean. (Check list sent with specifics for each room). She completed all tasks and did a fabulous job. I was very happy with the result.

The communications with the company direct and cleaner was thorough and made the experience easy. What a wonderful job that was done too!
We hired a cleaner from Absolute Domestic to clean our bathroom and floors once a fortnight. The cleaner attended the property for the initial 2 hour clean and I was specific about the areas I wanted cleaned. The attention to detail was amazing and we were happy to have the same cleaner back on a regular fortnightly basis. On the next visit the attention to detail wasn't the same and was poorly done. There were visible areas of the bathroom that weren't even touched. I had to reclean everything which was frustrating because we had just paid a professional to do this work. I took photos and emailed the area manager who didn't offer a refund or a discounted reclean and just said the cleaner was busy doing other jobs which wasn't true because nothing else had been touched. I advised the area manager I would like a different cleaner going forward. Its been weeks now and they haven't hired a replacement yet keep messaging me saying they're working on it. Don't believe it when it says they will hire a new cleaner quickly and discreetly because that isn't true. It seemed like they did a fantastic job initially to get your business but then do a less than great job going forward.
