ABSOLUTE DISASTER

Absolute Solar are an ABSOLUTE DISASTER. If you are looking to use this company then from my personal experience I would suggest you look elsewhere. Why risk it. There are much better out there who have higher ratings. Unlike Absolute Solar who score is "BAD". They are supposedly backed up the IAA guarantee don't be fooled it's a sham. The IAA and CIGA are an industry funded organisations who share the same office. I can assure you that Absolute Solar and the IAA/CIGA worked closely together to reject my claim about their atrocious workmanship. Regardless of the evidence the claim will be rejected for some spurious reason and CIGA will side with the installation company.

Please read the transcript below of a parliamentary session that has taken place. Do read it as it will give you a real insight into what to expect when you will need to raise a dispute against ABSOLUTE SOLAR. CIGA will offer the option for arbitration once your claim is rejected. It is the same scenario forget it. Arbitration is a blind alley and their decision is legally binding. Avoid at all cost. Look at other legal roots.

Many people are then told to fall back on the guarantees issued through the Cavity Insulation Guarantee Agency—or CIGA, as many people refer to it. For the majority of people I have spoken to, CIGA often represents the biggest brick wall of them all, because what that industry-funded body appears to provide in far too many cases is protection in name only. I am sure that Members across the House have been approached by constituents who have sought an assessment from CIGA, only to be presented with various get-out clauses that prevent any kind of redress payment from being issued".
"Then people are pointed to alternative dispute resolution, or independent arbitration. Several constituents have expressed significant concerns about how independent that process is, and many are reluctant to go down that lengthy route as, once a decision is made, it is legally binding and cannot be challenged, apart from in the High Court. The process is also expensive. It costs £130, and the complainant must pay for an independent surveyor’s report, so costs can stack up to £500. It can become, in essence, a one-way ticket to nowhere".

Complaint Regarding Misleading Solar Panel Warranty and Installation Issues

Solar panel system I purchased from Absolute Solar Panels. At the time of purchase, I was assured that the system would be covered by a 10-year warranty, and should I move house, the panels could be relocated for a reasonable fee.

However, less than a year after installation, I began experiencing a roof leak that appears to be directly linked to how the solar panels were fitted. Upon contacting the company for support under the stated warranty, I was informed that the original company had gone bankrupt and that the new owners, trading as absolutesolarpanels.co.uk, would not honour any previous customer agreements.

After further investigation, I discovered this appears to be a common and troubling practice within the solar panel industry—companies aggressively market and sell systems during the summer months, then fold or restructure during the quieter winter period, thereby avoiding liability. It is incredibly concerning that such tactics are being used to mislead homeowners, many of whom are left with faulty installations and worthless warranties.

In my case, the transition from absolutesolarpanels.com to absolutesolarpanels.co.uk seems a deliberate attempt to evade customer responsibility while continuing to profit from new sales under a similar brand.

This experience has not only caused me financial loss but has also significantly damaged my trust in the renewable energy sector. I urge any prospective customers to exercise caution and strongly recommend choosing well-established providers such as Octopus Energy or EDF, who are far less likely to disappear or rebrand to avoid customer commitments.

I would appreciate a formal response to this complaint, including an explanation of what protections are in place for customers in this situation and what recourse—if any—I have to resolve the damage caused.

My late mother and stepfather were

My late mother and stepfather were, in my opinion, conned into getting solar panels installed by Absolute. They were in their late 60s, and would not have benefitted from these in their life time (both now deceased). The family at the time (2016) advised them not to go ahead with the installation but they were persuaded to by this company. We are selling the house and just discover all the installation documents from absolute. The ‘projected” profit yields given by this company over 20 years was £6,029.28. What a Load of BS - they were literally getting credits monthly from EDF for approx £20 or so! I would say an estimate of £200-300 per year. So over 20 years they would have yielded £3000 maximum (if they were lucky). This was total mis- selling at its worst! Absolute is correct - they are an “absolute waste of space! Do not be conned

Panels were not properly installed

My extreme dissatisfaction with the installation of Solar Panels. When I initially engaged your services, I was assured that your customer service was fantastic. However, my experience has been quite the opposite.

Since the installation of the Solar Panels, I have faced numerous issues. One major concern is that the panels were not properly installed, causing water to seep through my roof. This has resulted in significant damage to my property and has caused immense stress and inconvenience. Despite my repeated attempts to contact your company for assistance, I have received no response. I have left multiple messages, but have yet to hear back from anyone.

I find it incredibly disappointing that a company that prides itself on excellent customer service would neglect a customer in need. It is unacceptable that my concerns have been disregarded and left unresolved for such a long period of time. It is evident that once the Solar Panels are installed and the payment is made, your company shows little regard for the well-being of your customers.

I urge you to take immediate action to rectify the issues with the installation of the Solar Panels at my residence

Not registered with regulator

This company is no longer registered with the RECC regulators (thrown out) due to their abysmal record.
I’m still fighting to get MCS as they didn’t do it… the system has to be registered within ten days of installation. I wish!
Don’t seek them out for your installation.

The time it took from placing the order…

The time it took from placing the order to installation date was almost 8 months. Then when the installation took place they installed different panels than what was on the order. But gave the reason why and allowed a small discount for it. Also they had to come out again to check the equipment twice before it was working as it should. Just hope the after sales service is going to be better. Just waiting now for the scaffolding to be taken down after monitoring the system to make sure everything is ok.

No valid MCS certificate 6 months after installation

We had a solar system installed by them August 22 and to date I'm still waiting for a correct MCS certificate. The first one that came was 5 months late and had both the incorrect commissioning date and address on it.
The installation itself was completed to a satisfactory standard after a delay due to non availability of the fixing brackets for the panels. The scaffolding was erected a week before it was needed ( we were told about 3 days), and I withheld payment until it had been removed. Their administration leaves much to be desired and I have had to spend a lot of time both on the phone and communication by e mail to get any response. In short I cannot register my system with a Power supplier until I have a valid MCS certificate in my possession, and have given them an ultimatum to deliver a correct MCS certificate by 09/02/23

1 star still too much to rate this company, it shouldn't even be that much, honestly!

In June 2022 it was told by Absolute Solar Panels, that they gonna install the panels for us shortly after and once we pay a deposit of £3000, it will take around 3 hours at the most. It’s now the 15th of February 2023(!)... solar panels installation with such a big delay of 6 months in a row.. planned to be installed by the company at the end of October 2022, so we were waiting 4 months.

On the day of installation, somebody rang us and stated, that unfortunately, they don't have these panels arrived at their depot yet (!!!). The scaffolding had arrived, and metal struts held in our garden for the next 2 months after, kept causing pressure on our new decking boards due to the compression of the terrace in the earthen garden area, a lot of mud was created and a nightmare in the form of lack of drainage.  We have 4 dogs, they constantly brought mud and dirt into the house, we had to order 2 tons of gravel to deal with the mud created by two months of pressure to the terrace, caused by scaffolding. The company tried to take off the scaffolding without informing us about the visit, even though the solars have not yet been installed.

Finally, I guess the boss of the installation company, rang us and set up an installation date at the beginning of December.. the day before the installation he said, he can't make it for us, because the van was broken down (hahaha..funny isn't ?). A few days after they finally arrived, (it was the most freezing day in December, with temperatures much below 0, and loads of snow on the roof!). Anyway, finally, they made it.. it took 6 months of calls phones, stress and double-paid money.

So in June, we decided to go ahead with the solar panels, because the war in Ukraine and the increase in bill costs are terrifying, so we thought it will be a good idea for savings in the future. When we obtained the agreement with Absolute Solar Panels, we took the loan for over £12k to get it done as soon as possible and save money on electricity bills. 8 months after still waiting to switch energy suppliers, still no paperwork, so not enough we had to pay £250/ a month for the loan taken for the solars, but also £250 for the electricity bills every month, and it made £500 a month for over 8 months = cost us £4k, instead only loan costs, but this company can't understand that at the end of this story we are full of anger, being upset, feeling hopeless, we are mentally and financially devasted, just finished by this company.

My partner has had that much enough so rang them a week ago, and shouted, after a month of their promises about sending us the MCS certificate needed to submit to our electricity provider, so we are entitled to pay much less for electricity usage, as solar able to produce the energy, unfortunately, solar panels installed 6 months after the agreed date, even installed in December 2022, we still had to pay high bills, because Absolute Ltd hasn't informed our energy provider, also haven't sent us a certificate for the next 2 months after the installation.

This company should be sacked from doing any services to the people. So badly organised, lack communication, and only in touch when they wanted us to send them more money, unprofessional and disrespectful of our time, money, and stress, that had been wasted and over months solars energy lost.

Absolute Panels

Absolute Panels

Completely not organized company I would like to said. I've been staying at my Friends house for few days when this company been doing works in their home installing Solar Panels, they set up scaffoldings in their garden for more then 4 months and doing no any job at all so they needed to live with scaffolding for such of long time. Friend also took credit paid money in advanced to have Solar Panels fitted in his house roof but nothing happened, company been just dismissing them that all the time they are waiting for Panels, parts didn't arrive etc or just no replying at all, very low communication with them. Then finaly on the day of installation time after months my Friends been waiting they said van broke down and needed go on garage so they didn't come. They came back after few days, start installation and said something didn't arrive and they cannot finish their job so they left Stuff and equipment lying around their house, boxes on the floors, big mess and others. Each time they were supposed to come and when the time slot had passed, My Friend have to be the one calling only to find out there’d been another “problem”. All of that situation I've noticed put my Friends in a such of big stress, depression, financial problems, they run out of lot of holidays from the work place just to have done Solar Panels which they paid for. Finally after months when company finished all of tge jobs in their home they charged them few tousand pounds more then the total price which was said at the begin. Avoid Absolute Panels Company if You don't want to have the same problems as my Friends had, is just wasting time, health and money

Don't touch this company. They installed 6 panels and they never worked how they said. No service, no back up. No App. Always busy. Looking for someone to take them off and get proper panels installed. I'm going to take a minimum £5,000 hit but what else can you do. .. so disappointed. These guys should star on the BBC!

Absolute Solar supplied and installed…

Absolute Solar supplied and installed our solar panels and battery storage system 2 weeks ago. From our initial inquiry through to installation, everyone we spoke to at Absolute was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and made the whole process seamless. Our panels were fitted in less than a month from placing our order and we are delighted with them. The App to monitor them is very easy to use and you can see exactly how effective they are even without full sun on them. The only downside I would say is that that the scaffolding stayed up longer than originally promised which was an inconvenience for us and our neighbours

Bullies!!

I changed my mind after a week. No problem, as there is a 14 day cooling off period. Joke! I cancelled by telephone, and followed it up with emails to the head office and local office. I was them bombarded with phone calls trying to make me change my mind, and wanting specific reasons why I was cancelling! I was told that they only return monies on Fridays! Two have passed, but no refund! I have called, but no joy. I asked them to let the surveyor know that I had cancelled to save a journey, but they didn't, poor chap! Be very sure that you want to employ this company, or you too will be subject to their bullying techniques, and may end up out of pocket!

Recommended by a friend

Recommended by a friend. We checked out the competition but couldn't find a better option. You buy the panels, so no-one else "owns your roof", and pay it back over a fixed period, but as your electricity bills drop, you'll generally pay a little more for that time, and save long-term.

You need to own the house you want panels on and it's best if you plan on staying there for some time as it'll cost to move the panels to a new home, or you can leave them, but then someone else gets the benefit.

The panel models are top of the range, as are the storage batteries and their guarantees. Also, as the finance is regulated, if anything goes wrong with the comapny, you're covered.

I usually hate reps in our home, but this one wasn't at all pushy and genuinelys eemed to know the subject and be able to answer questions. When we said no and wanted thinking time, we weren't pressured.

Electricity prices are likely to rise, so generating your own will be a good long-term step. Also, you cna get paid for the surplus energy you generate.

This isn't just about money though -- think carbon footprint. It's right for the environment.

It's an investment and gamble -- what if prices drop next year? -- but if you never take the step you'll never save any money or benefit the environment.

Nothing's perfect and I've had to contact them about a couple of things, but they're always quick to respond and seem to know wha thtey're talking about. They also take you through how you sort out your energy supplier, if changing suppliers might be beneficial. It's a very helpful company.

From beginning to end Absolute Solar…

From beginning to end Absolute Solar offer a well explained and well managed service. Good conversations throughout and good supporting documentation. The highlight was the installation - excellent team did a first rate job for, what turned out to be, a challenging installation. Everything works as advertised.

Installation took slightly longer than…

Installation took slightly longer than expected, we were told all work would be completed in 1 day but took 2 days and the scaffolding was left up for a few weeks, but we are now up and running. The aftercare team have been excellent and any teething problems we had rectified, including moving our water i-boost box as we are light sleepers and could hear the electrical hum of it heating the water. We also received a refund as our current boiler system was more advanced than the one offered so we did not need it. All information was provided on how to complete our feed in tariff and we have successfully submitted our first meter readings. Overall happy with the process and still glad we did it.
