Above and beyond

I was looking for a powered wheelchair to make life easier for my husband. I had a manual chair which because I don’t have much strength in my arms he had to push. The first visit I tried two, a light weight foldable one which split into two parts and would be easy to put in the car, and a heavier one which was more versatile for where I wanted to use it and felt so comfy and secure, a Savvy SV4. The problem being how to get it in the car . The tech guy was on a day off but she still tried him on the phone. She knew that it was the Savvy SV4 I really wanted but could end up with the lighter one, a freedom I think. We happily agreed to go back and talk to him,, and when we did the lady and the tech guy had come up with a solution. A new lifting platform, powered from the chair, which had just come in for another customer. They both thought it would be ideal for me and let me get the Savvy. He demonstrated the platform let me try the Savvy again around the shop talked me through all the operating features and answered a heap of questions from my husband which reassured him that this was the right choice. The tech guy, hope he doesn’t mind me calling him that, put together a great deal for the chair and platform and I have never been happier than when I left the shop. They also do after sale servicing which is why we didn’t buy on line as who do you go to if something goes wrong ?
They really went above and beyond understanding the problems I had and finding the solution. My husband and I are so happy that we found them and we have been singing their praises ever since.

Visited 'Adapt' after visiting other local similar shops and seeing TV adverts.

Visited 'Adapt' after visiting a neighbour in Whitehills hospital. My wife has breathing problems- asthma, bronchiectasis, on top of arthritis and PBC, which makes walking more than 50 yards exceedingly difficult. We were shown the different electric scooters they have on display and wishing to buy one which would be easily folded/carried and go in the boot of a car, decided on the 'Genie' by Monarch Mobility Ltd. Adapt provided a personal demonstration in the showroom and offered my wife to either take it away that day or pay by instalments over a few weeks, which we did. The lady also showed us the carrying valise, which allows for carriage in an aircraft. The overall weight being no more than a full suitcase of 20 Kg.

Excellence in bathroom makeover.

Changes in health, mobility and an ageing bathroom, prompted us to take on its full makeover. The new bathroom was to be more appropriate to our needs and have a measure of “future proofing”. The prospect of the “full demolition” of such a key room was daunting as we approached Adapt Bathrooms and Mobility, Forfar, to take it on. Their review ratings were outstanding, and the initial meetings with showroom staff, and then Shaun, the owner, gave us insight into the quality of their customer relations, and formed the initial element of trust to work with them.
Shaun visited the house for a planning meeting. His first priority was to emphasise that he would take all the pressure away from us in managing the process. He spoke about the small, very capable team comprising Ross (joinery), Andy (plumbing) and Dean (electrical) who would do most of the work. Shaun listened to our needs then revealed to us links to resources which we might consider whilst also blending in our suggestions. The emphasis was to be on quality, practicality, durability, appearance as well as value for money. He also shared where we might view the components “in real life” to assure us of their quality.
The entire team took this challenging job in their stride, liaising well and making any adaptations as they arose. They were punctual, on-task, very tidy and above all meticulous in the detail of their work and the care of my property. Nothing was too much trouble. As time passed it was easy to strike up a close relationship with them as a result of excellent communication, consideration, respect and good humour leading to ultimate respect. We were quite happy leaving them in the house to get on, when we had other activities to do.
The job was carefully managed by Shaun in the style that he had assured us. He wanted the bathroom completed meticulously, on time, and indeed after the main team had completed the bulk of their work, Shaun individually returned for several sessions to fine tune and perfect the finish of the job. This was not only to our satisfaction, but to his high standards.
In conclusion, we now have a stunning bathroom, we are highly delighted, and would have no hesitation in returning to them for future support or in recommending others to consider them for their projects.

Friendly understanding service

I went into the Adapt showroom this morning to look for something very comfortable to sit on. I have muscle problems which give me pain when sitting on a hard surface. Moira was so friendly and understood immediately what was needed. The wedge shaped foam cushion is ideal because it shares the pressure out over a large area and relieves the pain, and the shape stops the edge of the cushion/seat from cutting off circulation to my leg.

Perfect! I can highly recommend Moira and the Adapt store in Forfar for any mobility or comfortable living needs, no matter how simple.
