This is a warning for anyone reading this. I've just come across them after ending up with their malware on my PC.

It was silently installed by another installer over a month ago, and today it finally revealed itself when it asked me to "finish" a security update. In the small print, it explained clicking the button will hijack all of your browsers (change the homepage, new tab page and search bar) and install their extension into chrome.

While I presume it's carefully designed to be legal, a company willing to pull this off is extremely sketchy, and not one you should be trusting with anything.

At the very least, it's likely they're harvesting as much data about you as they can to sell it, but there's also the danger they'll get paid to use their program to install other malware too.

Just added it to my desktop and so far so good!

I was looking for a free antivirus. It mostly made everything slow and the free features were not that great. Also took allot of effort removing the program. Honestly it was annoying as F!

Right now I use the free version as my computer under Vista is now
obsolete but still works though Chrome no longer updates. Opera
and Quant seem to support. I shall
soon be moving to Windows 10 or Mac.

Yesterday I tried to click through "no thanks" to your paid whatever and reached a page that offered no way out except forward towards purchase. No bueno!

Got installed without my permission, its like spyware.

Unwanted bundled program that kept throwing up errors.

This program made it on to my computer when I downloaded Utorrent. I did not want it and it was extremely hard to get rid off. Bundled hidden crap

I installed the software. Started the full scan of my computer. It took the whole night to perform. In the morning, when I woke up, the scan had finished, it had even found viruses. But alas, the part of the GUI, where I could choose what to do with the infected files, was outside of the visible part of display. There was no way I could roll down or jump via TAB. I remembered that due to my poor eyesight, I had changed the size of the windows letters to 150%. So I decided to revert to original size, which windows only allowed after a restart. After restarting the computer all the results were gone. It is ridiculous.

Everything seems to be operational and there were no glitches on download and install procedures.
It is too early to give an accurate assessment as it has only been two days, so the review would seem to be a little premature!
However, all seems OK, therefore I will be willing to come back at a later date and give a more accurate assessment. Thank you.

As promised: Two weeks in, and the software is working perfectly. Scanning is excellent and extensive and there have been no viral attacks as yet. I am pleased that there also has not been any internal conflicts with the firewall, which had been a major problem with other AV systems, which would, at least every second day, bring up a dialogue box stating "UI failed to load". I am really positive and upbeat regarding this Ad-Aware programme. Thanks again.

I have used Ad-aware for many years, it has always been the best and always spot on.

Installed it self when installing other software, Didn't ask me if I wanted to install it. Beware
