As a regular traveller I dislike airlines that for no evident reason do not approach passenger jet steps - probably to avoid expenses - parks away using the good old bus as a century ago, rain, heat... See more

We made a mistake in surname and in the flight day they changed it very fast
Another delay
Another delay . 3rd flight this 2 months 3 delays . :) best company award ?
Didn’t refund my money even though they accepted my refund request.
I booked round trip tickets from Spain to Lebanon to visit my family and it costed me 538.37 euros and I’m student it was long flight with long time layovers in Athens and I accepted it. When I was in Lebanon Aegean airlines they canceled the flight back from Beirut to Barcelona and they didn’t mention a closer flight date so we only change the date because of the war between Iran and Israel. And then they put on their website that all the flight are canceled from Beirut, so 1 week before the date of my flight back I applied to refund for my ticket and I paid extra to make this option in cancel I need to change dates or anything, and they accepted my refund but it’s been 6 months and still didn’t refund my money back and they cancelled my flight and I didn’t cancel. I tried to call several times no one answers the call and I sent emails when and they reply in a different form, even though I sent them all booking details and every information they might need. Super unprofessional and I will never book anymore with them, when you accept a refund do it till the end and not just throw words without meaning it.
Beware of well hidden charges
Their Business Class ticket is stated as refundable during the booking flow but they withhold the fact that cancellation can only be done by their call centre for a surcharge of EUR 23 per ticket.
Of course, this is mentioned somewhere between the 50 fine lined pages in their terms and conditions, but it is not stated during the time-sensitive booking procedure (by an asterisk for example).
I made a written complain and suggested that they should inform the customers during the booking procedure about inevitable charges, they replied with template text, referring to their terms and conditions.
Bad, Bad, Bad.
Website is clunky, unintuitive and slow. Easy to make mistakes and difficult to correct if you do. If you call their customer service line it's akin to being back in the 80s with cheesy recorded message on repeat, wait time gets longer and being asked constantly to press 1 or 2 for English or Greek. Overall bad service and something they really should change. Would not recommend booking directly with them.
£900 wasted
Bought a pass under the wrong name, and now £900 is wasted.
Airline is determined to rip you off.
They cancelled my flight without notice
Rubbish app and website. Booked my flight 1week before, never received a confirmation email, but I could retrieved it after contacting them. Anyway, on the last day I couldn’t checking in or manage my booking as the flight doesn’t exist. Tried several times no luck. After calling the customer service told me the money has gone through but there is no booking made, even Having my CONFIRMATION email . Is just made me so mad last minute now trying to find flights. Never again Aegean, never again
LOST LUGGAE - PEANUTS COMPENSATION
They lost my check-in luggage on a business trip of 3 days and they never located. I had to go out shopping for my trip as I wasn't carrying a carry-on luggage this time and talking abt business trips doesn't allow 'just underwear and socks' as they recommend. Getting back to El .Venizelos I traced the bag myself with no help whatsoever from the useless Aegean. Then, when claiming the needed expenses I made for the trip - close to 300/400 euros, cause I repeated was a business trip and couldn't present with pijamas, they only refunded 160 euros back, neglecting all the time lost and the anxiety caused by this incident
To conclude, pls choose a trustworthy company for your business- important trips and don't rely on cheap companies on mindset nut pricy on fares ...
This is the worst company by far
This is the worst company by far. I fly very often and they cancel at the last minute. When you complain they say it was due to weather conditions. Guess what. It's the only company which has no information from the weather forecast. Did you know this? Poor company. They are ridiculous. .If you can avoid flying with them please do. I only use it when there's no other airline flying to the place I go. They're a disgrace
Booking System Glitches - Lost Our Money
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent booking experience with Aegean. I selected very specific flights to align with onward travel and to make the journey manageable for our 3 year old.
When the confirmation arrived, the flights were not the ones I booked. Instead, the system had assigned the first flight of the day for the outbound and the very last flight of the day for the second leg. These were absolutely not the flights I chose. I work in tech and have been booking flights for years without issues. I am very confident this was either a system glitch or the booking page resetting to default flights without any clear warning. A system should not make it so easy for flights to change during the booking process without the customer noticing.
We have not been able to afford a holiday in years, and we decided to stretch this year so we could make some memories with our child. So, believe me when I say I checked and checked those flights before booking. We don't have money to burn. Add to that the fact that I am autistic - my attention to detail is excellent. Aegean's suggested solution was that I should provide a screen recording of myself booking the flights. As if this is something any normal person does when booking travel. It effectively traps the customer in a corner because no one could reasonably have predicted they would need to record their screen simply to protect themselves from a booking system error.
They also claimed they had “reproduced” the scenario and were unable to replicate the issue, but this is meaningless. Reproducing a technical glitch on a live booking engine is virtually impossible due to the countless variables involved. It’s an easy way to dismiss responsibility rather than investigate properly. They are saying there should have been an error page - again proving they do not understand the volume of scenarios here or the technology they developed.
To make things worse, the customer service representative on the phone was incredibly blamey. There was no apology, no acknowledgement that their system might have contributed to the problem, and no willingness to consider that this wasn’t simply “my mistake”. Their only solution was to charge nearly 400 euros to change to the flights I had originally selected.
Aegean may not consider this their responsibility, but a reputable airline should. A reputable airline would not gaslight. I won’t be booking with them again.
Delays all the time
Delays all the time. I travel every 2 weeks and never departure on time. Always 1 hour delayed. Very frustrating
Exceptional assistance in Athens – huge thanks to Dimitri
We had a transfer in Athens, and our first flight was delayed, which left us very pressed for time to reach our next gate. My grandfather has an injured leg, so we had airport assistance — and we were both genuinely impressed by the outstanding help we received.
The man who assisted us was named Dimitri, wearing a vest from Goldair Handling. He was incredibly dedicated, caring, and professional. He did absolutely everything needed to make sure we reached our gate and got onboard our next flight on time. His support made a big difference in what could have been a very stressful situation.
We arrived in Athens from Copenhagen at 17:00 on 17.11 and had a connecting flight to Cairo at 18:00 the same day.
I truly hope Aegean will pass on our gratitude and warm regards to Dimitri.
A huge thank you for an exceptional experience.
Badly damaged baggage
We travelled from Athens to Santorini in Oct 2025. Once I collected my checked luggage from the baggage claim I immediately noticed the shape of my bag was a very irregular shape. On further inspection I found the 2 aliminium tubes that house the handle extensions were completely snapped. This would have required a great deal of force to break these. I contacted Aegean once I returned home to make a claim including all photos and details. My claim was rejected by Aegean saying I should have attended their damaged baggage desk to obtain a claim number. I was on holidays with our transport waiting and wasn't aware this was the procedure. A very unreasonable process i feel. Therefore Aegean did not accept my claim. The flight itself wasn't anything special either. Very disappointed customer and will try and avoid this airline at all costs if given the choice in the future.
Aegean airlines is the worst airline in…
Aegean airlines is the worst airline in the world
Highly do not recommend
Especially when flying from Athens
Makes Ryanair look luxury
Bad checkin experience
Flight: A3 721
Airport: Lisbon (LIS)
This was my first time flying with Aegean Airlines, and unfortunately the check-in experience at Lisbon airport left a very poor impression. The signage at the check-in area was incorrect, and there was no clear queue for economy class passengers. Normally this would be a simple issue to sort out, but the young supervisor on duty made the situation unnecessarily stressful.
Instead of calmly clarifying the process, she was surprisingly aggressive and escalated the situation rather than de-escalating it. What made it even more frustrating was that the staff working under her seemed more mature and reasonable, yet she wouldn’t listen to them either.
Overall, the lack of clear instructions combined with the supervisor’s unprofessional behavior created a very negative start to my trip. Based on this experience, I would not be eager to fly with Aegean again
Aegean sold me an impossible connection and then blamed me
I had a short connection (1 hour, theoretically ) with Aegean in Athens and did everything humanly possible to make it: I ran through the airport, hardly breathing, straight from the plane, through passport control and security, without stopping for a second (yes, it makes no sense that they keep you luggage and send it to the connection flight without you having to take it and check in again, but you have to go out like as if Athens was your final destination and go through passport control and security checks again and then go to gates -maybe because my flight came from outside eu). I still reached the gate to find the flight closed. Instead of helping, Aegean staff were cold, rude and judgmental – I was told the time was “totally enough” and that it was my fault for being “too slow”, while I was literally shaking and sweating from running like a marathon.
This airline sells borderline impossible connections and then treats you like you’re the problem when you can’t teleport through queues and extra checks. My warning: do not trust Aegean with short connections. If something goes wrong, don’t expect empathy, support, or basic respect – expect to be blamed and be sent to buy new tickets wherever you want - they are not covering you anything.
Flight A3502 from SKG to MUC
Flight A3502 from SKG to MUC. I checked my luggage in the business class and I asked the lady if I can switch my automaticly given middle seat to another one because I don't like being between 2 people. She said that I can just sit in both seats because the one next to me to the window is open and she didn't changed me. After boarding a full plane with 0 seats left I had to sit between 2 people and exactly behind me a mother with a toddler kicking my seat and crying. This check-in agent woman in the business class is why I have trust issues.
On 8 November 2025
On 8 November 2025, my father was travelling from Amsterdam to Ioannina via Athens. He had purchased a Flex ticket, which allows one cabin bag and a small backpack. At Amsterdam airport, we wanted to print the boarding pass as a backup in case the phone battery ran out. A staff member asked us not to use the self-service machines and directed us to the check-in counter.
At the counter, the agent informed us that the cabin bag had to be checked in “because he is flying economy and the plane is full.” I explained that:
The Flex category includes cabin baggage allowance.
He had a connecting flight to Ioannina and needed essential items, especially considering his age (73).
The response was dismissive and rude, stating that “she doesn’t care,” that “these are Aegean’s instructions,” and that if we had an issue, we should “take it up with Aegean.” She refused to print the boarding pass and told us to go to the gate.
When my father reached the gate, a staff member approached him and, quite pointedly, asked him to hand over his bag. He was the only passenger singled out, and they admitted this was not due to weight or size but because “he caused an issue at check-in.” For context, the conversation at check-in was polite and handled by me, as my father does not speak English.
This behaviour felt discriminatory and humiliating towards an elderly passenger who does not speak the local language. It was not about customer service—it was about targeting someone unnecessarily. Such actions undermine basic courtesy and respect.
I hope the airline reviews this incident with its ground handling partner to ensure other passengers do not experience similar treatment.
3RD WORLD.COUNTRY AIRLINES -.PRIMITIVE -SCAMMERS
Worst airline
Rigid, no customer centric policies
Very difficult to manage booking to do changes on flight a lot of cryptic tricks to charge overcharge and treat customers as fools. Worst airlines of our times. If you don't want to lose your money find a proper airline and fly. They are scammers and have zero perception of customer service. Terrible.service
