I've canceled the order as soon as possible and the company did not refund me after more than 2 weeks.

Edit: As soon as i posted on trustedpilots, i've received a notification that a refund has been ordered by afremov ... At least i got my refund so, updating from one star to three

I was worried after reading some of the reviews here. However, due to the low price and ability to use paypal, risked it and placed an order . The painting arrived after 10 days . It looks absolutely stunning!

Okay so below is my original review:

"Ordered artwork, waited an age for delivery. Fedex claimed to have delivered it, no proof of delivery and seller extremely unhelpful in resolving. Had to open a case with PayPal (who I am glad I paid via now).

Avoid these timewasters."

I then received an absolutely rubbish reply so I added the following:

"Further to the shameful reply, why can I not be given a copy of the proof of delivery? Simply because it doesn't exist which is why you have emailed me to say that Fedex are working on delivering it."

The seller since updated their response to suggest that I was being in some way dishonest.

To summarise the entire process:
1) I saw the artwork and made the purchase. Sceptical, I used PayPal credit to cover myself should something go wrong.
2) Delivery took an age, and I chased it up to be given a Fedex tracking number. I was a little concerned as I have never seen Fedex operate in my area.
3) Tracking suddenly suggested the parcel was delivered. Both myself and my wife were at home this day. We checked the surrounding area of our property, alas, we came back empty handed.
4) I chased this up with the vendor and asked for an update.
5) Tedious replies followed, such as "chasing Fedex" or "contacting Driver".
6) I unstructed vendor to ask the courier to get in touch with me as this seemed the most sensible way of locating the parcel.
7) This didn't happen, so I asked for a further update or a refund.
8) No response from vendor. Vendor blames timezones. Don't trade internationally if you don't have the means to respond to queries in local time zones.
9) Instructed vendor to provide update or refund to which there was no reply.
10) Fed up, raised case with PayPal - Vendor disputes this and suggests that they refunded the order before any case was raised, which seems silly since they were still working with Fedex at that time to locate the item. It was PayPal who refunded the order.
11) As a last geture of goodwill, I asked if it could be ascertained where the parcel actually was so that I could collect it myself.
12) This request was again completely ignored.
13) Seller more upset that I might receive an item for free, eventually.
14) Seller suggests that the driver, loaded with cameras on his van, is coming back to locate the parcel. I appreciate this and inform the seller that I have activated my home CCTV to be sure that he isn't missed or that the failed delivery is captured on video.
15) No Fedex presence located.
16) Issued seller with my own CCTV imaging for the avoidance of doubt.
17) Issued seller with PayPal resolution to prove dishonest responses.
18) Seller has now fallen victim to radio silence.

Please avoid this seller. Happy to take your money and provide you with scattershot responses to blame anyone but themselves.

For clarity, at time of writing this was their last response (dated 15:17pm 28/08/2024):

"I am sorry for the issue. We did the best that is possible to deliver the product and resolve the issue as soon as possible . Delivery issues where the tracking shows as delivered but the delivery did not take place, or was mistakenly delivered to a neighbors, or another address, happen all the time. There is no need to get very angry and dramatic over this. Its regular routine work for all e-commerce business .There are a few things to take into consideration.

the Fedex tracking number 526114297799 shows as delivered at 9.37AM local time, our time 4.37 PM.

We are located in Mexico with 7 hours difference. You contacted us when it was 8 PM in Mexico. Fixing such delivery issues takes at least 24 hours. We made a phone call to fedex to open a claim as soon as you notified us . Fedex takes some to time to react and respond. We were going to follow up in the morning.

You contacted us outside local business hours. We can only do so much at 8pm local time. As soon as we became available in the morning at 8am , we went to attend the issue and saw that you opened a paypal dispute before we could even follow up and download the proof of delivery. you seriously jumped the gun. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, so we closed the dispute by giving a full refund at once.

We are going to keep monitoring the situation and will send you the proof of delivery that contains the signature. right now you can download the proof yourself from the fedex site but it has no signature. We asked fedex to provide one with the signature.

As soon as the issue is solved and the package is delivered to you, we hope you will be kind enough to make the payment again."

I won't be paying once for a painting I never received, never mind twice.

EDIT: A response has been sent and here it is in its entirety: "We submited claim to fedex".
I would suggest that the parcel is lost somewhere or never existed. Shameful that they couldn't even type the word 'sorry'. Morons.

The picture I bought wasn't even painted by Leonid Afremov, it says "Afremov studios" and some random guys name.

I never would have bought it if they didn't deceptively sneak these paintings by other artists in.

Edit: In all the email promotions they mostly mention originals, so I still think this was a deceptive tactic.

I have tried reaching out to them to no luck, I have received my "hand painted" painting. It is a print out, it is a decent print but that is not what I was promised. However, in order to mimic it being hand painted they have made brushstrokes on top of the painting with a clear substance that mostly look like glue. Seeing the picture from the front it looks like it is painted, but from the side you can clearly see it is just a bunch of random strokes on a printed canvas. It is a shame because i really love Afremovs paintings and would love a handpainted replica, but that is not what they are selling.
Further they do not provide any final invoice or order number.

A few days ago I wrote a review with a 1 star rating. I tried for approximately 10 days to reach this company. Finally on a Saturday i was able to contact them. They gave me a fed ex tracking number and an order number. They said my package will be here the next Tuesday. I actually received it a day earlier. It is not an authentic certificate. It is a mixed media painting but it is absolutely beautiful. The art is fantastic. The communication needs to improve. Between several days of no replies to emails, my account stating it has no purchase history and the fact the item is being purchased and shipped overseas. However it is definitely worth the wait.

I have been familiar with the art of Leonid Afremov for quite some time and have purchased several paintings over the years. They have all been excellent, of great quality and have lots of texture on the paintings.

As is clearly posted in the descriptions, they are not originals from the artist but copies made by his students. They would have been a LOT more expensive if they were originals but I am extremely happy with my purchases and the service provided by the Afremov staff. The delivery took about a week from the order and arrived in great form.

Thank you for your art and I look forward to purchasing more in the future.

very nice paintings. I bought a couple for my beach house in mexico. The delivery did not take long. Make sure to order the paintings with a frame at the checkout. I forgot to order the frame and had to add it on later. The day the package was sent out, they stopped the package for me and framed the paintings.

ordered a painting that was supposed to be hand painted by one of his students so i was aware i’m NOT getting an original and colours and shapes might differ, i received a PRINT, to be fair on canvas with actual paint slobbed on in various places, not sure if a print is worth 200$
reply after complaint:
“You have received mixed media painting hand embellished directly by Leonid Afremov with the same technique as original oil paintings”
i guess i didn’t realized that a mixed-media painting entails a print as long as somebody is adding a few dots with an actual brush

I ordered a recreation of a painting directly from Afremov studio. I knew it won't be an original, but I was expecting a solid recreation. An actually painted painting... What I received is something hardly believable. A printed picture on canvas with some sort a glue on top to create a fake "shining" effect (I would really love to post a pic here) and to fool an amateur that this actually might be a paint. No, it's not. The end product is worth 20-30 euros at max. I paid 200 (including customs).

This site is shady in every way. Right after you order something, they start to spam your mailbox with offers. Made up stories about 5000 dollars worth of paintings that they will sell only to you for 99 dollars. Every day they are sending 2-3 emails to all the previous buyers and try to fool them again. They pretend that sale is going on and it's ending soon. Those "sales" are there all the time. DO NOT BUY HERE if you want an actual painting. And if you want what they sell, download some PNG, go to your local print store and ask them to print it on canvas. The result will be same for the 1/5 of the price.

Really very happy with the service recieved and the quality of work. DHL messed up big time and shipped the item halfway round Europe. After already being in the UK!
There was slight damage to the cardboard roll but it was so well packed it didn't pierce it fully and painting looks phenomenal. Partner will be very happy.

To help others with a few things that were on my mind - Definitely an oil painting, with some form of plastic protective layer, I presume to stop it sticking. Thick cardboard roll very well packaged and £13 ish UK customs charge. It is also huge. And beautiful.

Keep an eye out for SMS about customs fees. Delivery would have been quick if DHL weren't useless. Although I did get it In time for Xmas and wasn't sure that was going to happen.

I saw a internet ad and did some homework on Afremov.com. I was more concerned about credit card fraud than anything else but I liked the paintings I saw and the price was right. I received what I expected. A oil painting on canvas stretched and framed ready to hang in my office. I made the purchase because I liked it. The painting looks good in my office and I enjoy it. The process was easy and the items I bought were sent to me within the two week time frame specified. I really don't care who painted it as long as I am satisfied with it and I am. It is colorful, and romantic at the same time and again I am happy with it.

I've been looking at the artist's website for a long time, but was wary of ordering. And here I really liked a couple of paintings, just dreamed of buying them. And I want to say thank you to the managers of the site, very helpful and with the purchase of the order until I did not receive it. Thank you for such a service.

I have known Afremov's work for a long time and I recommend to all my friends and acquaintances the site run by his children. You can buy very inexpensive paintings, for every taste, the choice is huge. And Afremov's paintings always cause a smile, they are very bright, so unusual, volumetric. A true delight!

Our daughters are avid cat lovers, so we redecorated our nursery with a cat theme. We even found suitable and cheerful paintings that make you feel good just by looking at them. How good it is that I accidentally found a very good website of the artist Afremov. I have never been particularly interested in painting, but here I got stuck. And for yourself can buy paintings, and for a gift, they are unique, unusual, original. And they are drawn in a special technique with a palette knife.

I bought the painting by the wonderful artist Afremov for a gift, and I also got into promotion. The painting is called Small Quiet Town, for m best friend as a gift. He is a connoisseur of painting and I hope the gist will like. I ordered the painting on the official website.

I ordered an Afremov painting for my office, and it became the main decoration of the room. His paintings help to create a relaxing atmosphere at work.

I bought a painting Rainy Wedding that on the site stated it was a reproduction painted by Leonid Afremov himself NOT a studio reproduction. This was very important to me, it was a gift for my nieces wedding. They sent it with a certificate of authenticity that showed it as a studio reproduction and not what I ordered so I contacted them and they stated the correct painting was sent, but the wrong certificate of authenticity was sent with it they would send me the correct certificate. So I had the painting stretched and framed and gave it to my niece. I have been fighting with them for over 4 months now as they keep saying they sent the correct certificate but I have not received it. So now I think they sent me the wrong painting but do not want to admit it.
