If there was a zero
If there was a zero, I would give them a zero. I bought it and they promise full refund. Guess what? I have uploaded the images as they asked and now radio silence. This is a real scam.
Where's My Refund, Paul?
I requested reimbursement from an auto payment less than a few hours prior it be due, the payment processed anyway. I asked to be reimbursed. Support at airbolt dot com (Paul) said it was take a few weeks (9/15). It has been just over 3 weeks without a refund (10/11).

A scam in a nice-looking box
Title: ❌ Waste of money – useless product, misleading service
I ordered two AirBolt GPS trackers back in 2022 and had to wait over a year before finally receiving them in 2023. In the meantime, I had already signed up for two expensive subscriptions, hoping the system would be reliable. Sadly: completely useless.
Even inside my own home in the Netherlands, the trackers were already confused and inaccurate. I took them on a trip — they were absolutely worthless. No signal, no real-time updates, no reliability.
As for customer service? Slow, unresponsive, and evasive. I kept getting generic replies, had to perform endless updates and resets — nothing worked. When I tried to cancel the subscription, it turned out to be nearly impossible. Hidden terms, silent renewals, automatic charges. Deceptive small print.
This is not a serious GPS product — it’s a great example of how flashy marketing can sell you a broken promise.
➡️ Do not buy this. Save yourself the money, the frustration, and the endless hassle.
➡️ AirBolt = a scam in a nice-looking box.
Be Cautious — Cancellation Request Ignored, Charged Again Later
I canceled my subscription last year and was still charged again this year. Contacted support to cancel and request a refund — they ignored the cancellation and hid behind claiming the renewal date was “visible in the app” with no email notice. Had to dispute the charge through Amex. Poor business practices and zero accountability.
Scam & Null customer support
Over two years ago I got a device that was useless and did not work. The support team ignored all messages then.
After a while they decided they would send another one. They sent me a confirmation order but the device never arrived. They kept saying that the device production gets delayed. Another year like that.
It is a scam, do not deal with them.
was an early adapter.
was an early adapter.
Ordered it (payed!) and after that payed extra the moment they got released.
After 1,5 year; the tracker arrived.
It was total heel, had to do endless "firmware" updates, complex to do....
It never ever worked at all.
Had to buy extra to get it connected, after a "test" periode.
Hours, hours ......
Never worked at all.
DO NOT BUY !!!!!
They don`t know what refund is; simply no reactions anymore.
No adres to send them back.....
It is a scam; never buy.
Auto renews against your wishes
Useless device. Inaccurate, particularly internationally, but so even in my own house.
Afraid they would auto renew, I tried to remove the credit card information using their app. They offer the option of changing the card but not for deleting it. They do not give an option to not auto renew nor to cancel immediately.
There is no phone number to contact them at. Their support web page displays that the last time it was updated was in 2017! I sent a message that was never answered.
Six months later I got the auto renew charge. I contested it but my credit company rejected my claim.
Somebody is sucking money from us.
Who? What country?
I have a job to do to stop them getting more of my money.
Do not deal with this company
Do not deal with this company. I purchased 4 GPSs in Oct 2024 and received them in Dec. I subscribed for 2 dogs and could not get the tracking working. It showed my dogs 2-3 miles down the street while they were in the home.
I began the process for returns within a week of receiving the units and was originally told that I wasn't eligible. After writing a dissent, it was agreed that my timing for return was appropriate. Customer service isn't prompt and the majority of the time my emails were not even within even a week.
On 2/4 I mailed back everything. I received a refund for collar accessories but to this date have not received refunds for 4 GPS trackers and 2 subscriptions.

BUYERS BEWARE! Useless device & customer service!
I purchased two AirBolts in July 2024, to track my dogs. Innumerable communications with AB for assistance. Customer service is worse than pathetic. One+ weeks for each response. After months of back-and-forth, trying to get the devices to work (I live in Wisconsin), they have failed miserably. I asked early on for info needed to return them for a refund. They strung me along, and when I finally gave up on them and DEMANDED the info needed to return them for a refund, they said I was too late. Company obviously doesn’t support its products. EXTREMELY disappointing. I’ve never reviewed a product before but this one is SO BAD that potential buyers should be warned that their experience likely won’t match the hype/representations.
Dud Product
The battery on my AirBolt GPS completely failed after less than 18 months. AirBolt refused to replace the defective product, which they would have to if they were subject to the Australian Consumer Law. Even when the AirBolt worked I never got more than 3 weeks battery life with minimal battery use settings. And the documentation for the product is hopeless.
Don't buy if you are in Canada.
Note: I am in Canada. I can't speak to elsewhere but anyone in Canada should avoid AirBolt. I purchased 3 airbolts during the initial kickstarter. I won't go into details about the delays but I'll give them a little grace. It as the pandemic. I finally received the almost 4 years after my credit card was initially charged.
I activated the first of the three and placed it on my dog's collar. It sort of worked for a year or so. I'd get notifications and could generally track her around my property. "Sort-of"... the notifications were inconsistent and the tracking well if public GPS is generally accepted to be good down to 15m, Airbolt would be good to about 300m. Not particularly useful if you wanted to use it to find a bus let alone a dog. After a while locations seemed to be more linked to my local cell towers. i.e., my dog could be sitting beside me on the sofa but AirBolt would show her at the closest cell tower 7km away. Eventually that AirBolt just died, wouldn't charge, wouldn't track, report, nothing.
I activated my second AirBolt in its place shortly before the first died. It tracked intermittently would work 3-4 days at a time then just stop working for the next 10 or so regardless of charge. Push notifications never worked for that device and after about 6 months it just died, wouldn't charge. The LED wouldn't even light up.
I activated my third AirBolt about a month ago. The only useful thing Support ever was able to do was transfer my initial subscription to the third AirBolt. Alas...it's never worked. I've reset it , changed settings, changed them back, charged, left plugged in. No push notifications, no tracking, nothing.
I strapped it to my car yesterday and drove about 700km. According to the App and Airbolt website, it sat in my house the entire time.
I'm done. I've reached out to AirBolt support and have asked them to cancel my subscriptions and (not hopeful) refund the balances.
In short, if you are in Canada and hoping to use AirBolt to track something valuable in case it is lost or stolen... like a car maybe. Just put $200 in your car with a note asking the thief to bring it back. It'll be the same cost and just as effective.
Horrific customer service and underwhelming, unreliable product
I backed the Airbolt on Kickstarter when it first came out, and was one of many backers who when the product finally was available after endless delays had to write multiple mails to the customer service over a period of many months to actually be sent the products I paid for.
Sadly, the story doesn't get any better after I finally got the products. When I first went to use them, I found that one of the three trackers wasn't working. I still haven't received a replacement even though I have sent countless mails to the customer service over past months. My initial mail was answered with the promise of providing me with a replacement and asking for my shipping address. After that I never heard back from them and all my efforts to contact Airbolt have been completely ignored.
As a cherry on top, I was also charged the subscription fee twice when I first registered the other trackers and never received a refund for that despite my inquiries.
As if the company's general behavior towards customers wasn't bad enough yet, we were also really disappointed by the trackers themselves. We struggled for weeks with getting them to actually update their location without physically having to press a button on the device (which obviously defeats its purpose) and still haven't gotten it to actually work reliably and regularly as it is supposed to. I couldn't recommend this company or product any less. Well deserved 0/5 stars from us.
Watch out on auto subscriptions
Watch out on auto subscriptions. They don’t notify you and take the money. You have to cancel 24 hours in advance of renewal. Disgraceful customer service their response was it’s in the T&C’s.
I bought it and had never used the service in the first place. Where’s the cooling off period. Going to OfCom to raise a complaint
Total set of unscrupulous Charltons.
Do NOT buy this.
Do NOT buy this. We bought two, to track our dogs in case they get out. They straight up don't work, and "customer service" does absolutely nothing to help. After 30 days of troubleshooting, now they are saying we can't return them because we are outside the 30 day window. Absolute scam. DO NOT DO IT.
Airbolt lock, 7 weeks and no delivery
I ordered the airbolt lock, choosing a colour displayed as in stock, 7 weeks before my holiday. I am now on that holiday with no lock being delivered and having to buy a standard padlock at the airport. I have had to chase Airbolt several times to find out what’s going on, sometimes they did not respond, or their response was poor, causing me to chase more. Apparently my order was out of stock and being shipped to the Uk from the US, whilst I appreciate this, the item clearly showed in stock at the time of ordering and they could of informed me beforehand of the issue, perhaps offering yet another colour if actually in stock and can be delivered prior to my holiday, 7 weeks should be enough lead time!
Pure scam
The AirBolt GPS does not work as advertised, and the support team is refusing to refund the expensive subscription.
IT'S A SCAM
IT'S A SCAM - DON'T BUY
I usually don't write reviews but in this case I need to to so others don't make the mistake I made. DON'T BUY! I work with GPS trackers professionally and always try to find the best product in the market. Based on positive reports in the media I placed an order in April. The order confirmation states 'shipment end of April'. 3 months later and we still have not received the order. So-called 'customer service' is delaying and even lying. Despite written order confirmation they claim that they always said shipment end of June. It's a lie. Here is the bottom line: 1. If you place an order, there is a strong possibility you never receive the product. 2. So-called 'customer service' will lie to you. 3. The company will not allow you to cancel the order and issue a refund. 4. There is a strong possibility you will lose your money.
Product was never shipped and zero…
GPS tracker Product was never shipped and zero communication
Scam
This product, and the behaviour of the company behind it, begs the questions of how they are still in business.
AirBolt, as a company clearly have no intention of acknowledging their failures, and to stop taking people’s money, for a product and service (their subscription), that does not work. It is important then, that reviews be left to help people who have not yet been burnt, hear the truth, and I would urge anyone leaving a review here, also post the same review on:
Producthunt
There has been an attempt to control the narrative on these independent review websites, with many of the five-star reviews left for the Airbolt GPS, being created by accounts that have only ever left one review, on the respective site. This clearly suggests that these are sham accounts, created to offset the negative reviews, which are being justifiably left.
This dovetails with customers, mentioning on the Kickstarter thread, that the reviews that they have left on the theairbolt.com website, have been removed by the company. Simply comparing the average star rating on the company controlled website, to that on the independent review websites above, suggests this to be true.
Taking someone’s money for a product and service that does not deliver on its promises, while making cancelling that service difficult, refusing refunds, or not sending the product at all (as has been the case for many Kickstarter pledges), while simultaneously flooding fake positive reviews across the internet, in an effort to continue your business, falls within the very definition of a scam.
