Bait and Switch - Sell a plan, don't do the plan "covered work" to sell you more!

I had AirCo out 5/13/25 for the first time ever used. I hired them for their annual inspection service. BIGGEST mistake, ever hiring them. Here's my story. Was told I needed a drain line clean for one of my units, as well as some other system/age items that weren't urgent, but as expected based on age. The gentleman told me that if I signed up for their club a drain line clean would be included. Sounded good since the price difference for paying out of pocket for the service vs. cost paid over the year was negligible. Fast forward to first week of August, yes, only 2.5 months later. This same unit wasn't cooling well. I have since had a different A/C co out who shared it was likely the drain line, but asked that I have the plumbing checked just to be sure it wouldn't resume before A/C drain line concern would be addressed. Plumbing checked, was pristine, A/C guy is coming back, but back to AirCo. Called to ask what "drain line cleaning did you all perform in May since I now have 2 different tradespeople saying drain line was not clear?" I get the run around, 2 managers, both telling me in the end "it was just a basic line clean" and now we'd need to charge you another $320+ to do a more "thorough" drain line clean.....WHAT? I have had two different trades both tell me there was NO way the drain line was cleared at all. This company is worse than the WORST used car sales people. Sell you a plan, don't actually do work covered and then try to sell you more work....DO NOT USE and DO NOT FALL for their tactics!

Customer Beware! Book at your own risk!

Book at your own risk! Their appt scheduler does not tell customers that your appointment could get cancelled on the day it was scheduled for if higher priority customers call in behind you and steal your timeslot. I booked weeks in advance and was notified the actual morning of my appointment they were too busy to keep the appt due to other higher priority service calls. then was given the option to rebook a couple weeks out. Nevermind the fact my AC has been running poorly for weeks. Unreliable and unethical way to operate a business!

AirCo.

I spoke with the manufacturer, Trane Technologies, regarding a fairly new system (1-1/2 years old) not operating correctly. They suggested visiting the Trane Technologies site of their 'find a local pro' to identify a contractor who pay Trane to be listed on their site and "who bleeds Trane". One of the six contractors was AirCo.
I contacted AirCo to schedule an appointment for the necessary 'warranty' repairs to be performed. A short time later, I received a phone call confirming my appointment to which at that point had not been scheduled. At that time, they confirmed they would rescheduled the appointment for after 4 p.m.
At 4:26 p.m., I received a call that the technician was in route, and would be on-site within 30 - 45 minutes. At 5:49 p.m., the technician arrived (or some 83 minutes later).
During the time scheduling the appointment, I made sure they were aware the system was 1-1/2 years old, and still under warranty. At NO time during any of the communications was I made aware of any fees.
When the technician arrived, I informed him of the issue with the unit. He then continued to inform me that a service fee is required sine they did not install the system. This was the first time I was informed a fee was required.
After multiple attempts to have the technician understand an apples-to-apples analogy, he did not understand although he was just doing what he was told by this employer.
The technician left after wasting over an hour & half of my time.

My suggestion: Don't walk, but RUN away from this doing business with AirCo. Locate an honest, on-time contractor for your HVAC needs. If zero stars would work, they would receive it.

Consider any other company

On Dec 6, 2023 I purchased and paid cash for a new HVAC unit and complete duct work. Within a week the unit was replaced due to a "mechanical defect". The 2nd unit also did not work correctly and several people came through my house on different dates to figure out the issue which was never resolved. I had another HVAC company diagnose the issues. They found damaged wiring, a leak in the valve, no refrigerant in the system, and unknown damage to the compressor due to no refrigerant. AirCo denied these were the issues but failed to give a reasonable explanation for the unit not to work properly. During this time I received 2 letters from a bank denying a home improvement loan of which I never applied for because I paid cash. After a lot of finger pointing David, the salesperson, finally admitted he made the application unknowingly to me and without my approval. I requested, which then turned into demands, that AirCo remove the system and reimburse me in full. After more people came tromping through my house, which at this point was an invasion of privacy, AirCo agreed to remove the system and reimburse me in full. While removing the system they dropped the unit in my attic, above my office, so hard I almost ducked under my desk, This created a crack in my ceiling, popped nails in my ceiling and wall. After the techs left with the unit and duct work they refused to reimburse me until I signed a release form. This was not our agreement. I sent a demand email and certified letter letting them know I would be filing against them in court for reimbursement, damages, and punitive damages referencing Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA) which protects Texas consumers from false, misleading, or deceptive business practices. Exactly one month later I was reimbursed for the unit only, the day before I filed in court, and without AirCo accepting any responsibility of damages. 1/28/2025 - As of today I have called no less than 3 times to be taken off their mailing list since they insist on sending me junk mail. They can't even do that right.
