bunch of unprofessional liars
i have book my air india tickets from blr - del for my mother who is 78 years , having knee issue hence booked 3b and 3c for two passengers which was denied while web checkin
on connecting the call centre they said the seats are further sold to a paid customer .
second time around the person said it can be retrieved back at airport during check in and not to do webcheckin, and only airport can help
yesterday some one called and said those seats wount be given to us. and again to take a chance at the airport
today at the airport they said they don't know any thing and gave random seats separately,
i have booked the ticket for 6th on the 17th of feb almost 15 days back because my mother cant seat in your congested seat , 3 hours of flight is going to take her through hell .
the blatant lie by each staff was unbelievable
on saying aircraft change by one again was a lie - while booking it was a neo and they r now flying a neo .
it was a total disgusting conduct by airindia . a true bunch of liars
I had my flight booked from Copenhagen
I had my flight booked from Copenhagen, Denmark to Indian on 2 march 2025. Due to current war which is ongoing in Middle East, a lot of flights got cancelled ,including mine. However Air India staff was exceptionally helpful in availing another flight fom me by partnering with Ethiopian airlines without any additional cost. Especially thankful to Air India staff, Mr Bharat in Copenhagen for his kind gesture and help in such unprecedented circumstances. Had they not be there It wouldn't have been possible for me to reach India in time, considering my Visa getting expired on 3rd march. I hope all the best for Air India...continue the good work. Really grateful.
Im travelling from London to amritsar…
Im travelling from London to amritsar in direct flight but they have cancelled the flight on the last moment without any prior notice then i called to customer service to ask what i can do now then they give the flight with three stays, i am really upset from the service and i will never book the flight again from air india. Shit service….
Seat table broken and no accountability
Seat table broken and Air India refuses to take responsibility inspite of me sending them pictures.
I have got a dated picture on me in the aircraft and they say they have carried out all checks and the incident never happened -
@air India - please see all the inflight reviews and open your eyes to the fact that your customers are not getting the service they paid for!!
NO ACCOUNTABILITY WHATSOVER - This is not how you treat your loyal customers and I will be taking my complaint to the next level
We booked business class tickets for…
We booked business class tickets for our family (Delhi to Toronto) expecting the level of comfort and service that comes with that price point. Unfortunately, my husband’s seat was not functioning properly and would not recline into a flatbed position.
What was most disappointing was that we were only informed at the gate, despite the aircraft being at the airport since 4 PM for our 1 AM departure. This issue could have been identified and communicated earlier, allowing us time to explore options or request a solution.
On a long-haul international flight, especially in business class, a working seat is not a luxury — it’s the primary reason for booking that cabin. This significantly impacted our travel experience.
We hope the airline reviews its maintenance checks and communication protocols to prevent this from happening to other passengers.
Never fly with Air India
Never fly with Air India. The experience from start to finish was terrible. Initially when I approached my seat, I found that the armrest was broken and in a terrible state as the per picture attached. The TV screen was also not working as per picture attached. The flight was late leaving Birmingham Airport which then resulted in the flight reaching to the destination later than anticipated. The customer service from the air hostesses was appalling, they were rude and not very helpful. Airlines such as Jet Airways and Ryanair, which are budget British airlines have much much better customer service than Air India. During the flight there was also a lot of turbulence which caused me to become highly apprehensive.
The return flight from Amritsar to Delhi was also delayed over half an hour resulting in the connecting flight from Delhi to Birmingham to be further delayed.
Overall extremely disappointed with the entire experience and I can guarantee you that I will never be flying with air India ever again!!
So much negative comment already and…
So much negative comment already and same experience too. But I wonder why Airlines take so much money and make people work themselves in the name of self-service whereas before people was given so much help with check in and bag check out and even with boarding.
This airline deserves -10 ☆
One of the worst air line
One of the worst air line. Worst service, worst ,rude staff, chaotic process. Avoid it like flea on dog. I have tried giving chances many times over last 40 years. Nothing has changed.
I booked a direct Air India flight from New Delhi to London
I booked a direct Air India flight from Delhi to London scheduled for Saturday, 21st February. After a couple of delays, the airline eventually cancelled the flight. I’m not exaggerating when I say this turned into one of the most chaotic travel experiences of my life.
What stood out immediately was how unprepared the airline seemed to be for a cancellation of this scale. Information was shared only with the passengers who managed to crowd around the staff desks. Everyone else had to rely on word of mouth from people standing at the front. There were many passengers from South India and other countries who didn’t speak Hindi, and they struggled to get even basic updates. Announcements were rarely made, and English announcements often happened only after multiple people had to shout and request them.
I saw families with young children who were clearly distressed and exhausted. Some kids were crying, and parents looked completely overwhelmed. There were also passengers with health issues who appeared to need assistance but didn’t receive any meaningful support. We were stuck at the airport for over eight hours, with no snacks provided and no proper seating arrangements for such a long wait.
There was also no real system in place for queuing. No one from Air India tried to manage the crowd or stop people from cutting ahead. As a result, people who patiently waited in line were often left behind, while those who pushed through aggressively got rebooked faster and with better options. Personally, I spent close to nine hours at the airport before I finally received new tickets.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the end of it for me. I was rebooked on a connecting itinerary via Frankfurt: an Air India flight from Delhi to Frankfurt, followed by a Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to London. When I arrived in Frankfurt and tried to get my boarding pass, the Lufthansa staff informed me that my ticket wasn’t valid. They also warned me that my checked baggage could be stuck in transit because of this issue.
At that point, I was completely drained. It had already been over a day and a half of trying and failing to reach London, and I honestly felt numb from exhaustion and stress. After clearing passport control and exiting the airport to find the Air India help desk, I realised the airport was almost closed and the staff had already left. I couldn’t reach Air India through any helpline either. There was no toll-free number, and both the UK and Germany helplines didn’t give me an option to speak to a real person.
In the end, I managed to book a new flight through Lufthansa on my own. I have to say, their staff were noticeably more compassionate and helpful during this situation.
Overall, it took me nearly three days to finally reach London, with most of that time spent stranded at airports trying to figure out what to do next.
Some people might say this is the kind of service you should expect with cheaper tickets. For context, I paid over £700 for this flight. While that may be lower than some alternatives, it’s still not cheap by any reasonable standard. An airline shouldn’t be judged only by how smooth the flight itself is, but also by how it supports passengers when things go wrong.
Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend choosing Air India, especially given the lack of coordination, communication, and passenger care during disruptions like this. My heart goes out to everyone else who was stuck in that situation alongside me. No one deserves to be left feeling this helpless while traveling.
It's was bit different this time I had…
It was a bit different this time. I had a flight and needed to reach on time, but it was delayed.
Air India is a piece of shit
Air India is a piece of shit. It is cheap for a reason. I had the worst 2 flights of my life with Air India. Plane was left absolutely filthy, entertainment unit didn’t work at all, seats were broken and dirty, food was like it had been sitting there for days, tray table was broken so I spilt all my food all over me when served and more (don’t even get me started on the toilets). The atmosphere of the plane was disgusting, everyone was crammed in together so tight, and I’ve never smelt more BO in my life then on those 2 flights. This was the same experience on BOTH flights. Please do yourself a favour and pay the extra $150AUD to fly a different airline.
My last flight was delayed which was going to interrupt my next flight in my next country, they were so hard to reason with and wouldn’t listen to you. They would lie and ignore you. They offered me $30AUD as ‘compensation’ but made me jump through all these hoops to get it, which I still haven’t received because they just ignore me and don’t give me the information that I need to jump through the next hoop.
From the bottom of my heart, I hate Air India.
A lWhen Business Class Becomes an Endurance Testot has already been written about…
A lot has already been written about the poor state of business class service on Air India on the India Canada sector, and sadly, my experience only adds salt to an already overflowing wound.
On my Toronto to Delhi flight, my checked baggage was delayed by more than one day. While inconvenient, this was still tolerable.
What followed on my return flight from Delhi to Toronto, flight AI 187 on February 17, 2026, was not.
I had booked Seat 12C in Business Class three months in advance, expecting the basic comfort one pays a premium for on a 15 hour long haul flight. After boarding and settling in, I checked the seat functions, only to be told after the fact that my seat did not recline at all.
The cabin crew already knew the seat was inoperable, yet no one informed me before boarding.
When I raised the issue, ground staff were called. Instead of an apology, I was met with excuses and indifference. I was then told that at least 8 out of the 35 business class seats were non functional, and yet the airline continued to sell them as full fare business class.
The flight was already delayed by 3 hours, and this issue caused another hour of delay as ground staff began reseating passengers. Watching business class passengers being shuffled around felt like a game of chess or setting the fielding on a cricket ground. Three couples were seated separately. Passengers kept relocating from one seat to another. It was a nightmare. I was offered a seat change that also didn't fully recline.
To be fair, the cabin crew Rahul and Vikas were courteous, apologetic, and professional, despite the situation being entirely beyond their control. They deserve credit.
Unfortunately, everything else fell apart.
The cabin smelled bad, and it soon became clear why. There was visible water damage in the business class cabin due to leakage from the galley, badly staining the carpet. This condition is unacceptable for any airline charging business class fares.
Air India is now owned by the Tata Group, a name associated with comfort and hospitality through the Taj group of hotels. This aircraft, however, was a far cry from anything resembling Tata hospitality.
Other issues added to the disappointment
There is no proper overhead storage for passengers in business class. The overhead bins are largely used by the airline to store blankets, not only for this flight but also for the return sector. Comforters are handed out, yet there is nowhere for passengers to store them.
The lavatory signage is so worn that it is barely readable.
The food tray at my seat was broken and unstable, making dining uncomfortable.
This was not an isolated issue. This was systemic neglect of aircraft maintenance, customer experience, and basic honesty.
For most airlines, a review like this would be salt on fresh wounds. For Air India, it feels like adding salt to the ocean, because so much has already been written, and yet so little seems to change.
Selling knowingly defective business class seats on a 15 hour flight is unacceptable.
Until Air India fixes its aircraft, its processes, and its attitude toward paying passengers, no rebranding or ownership change will matter.
Business class should not feel like an endurance test.
I rarely write reviews but…
I rarely write reviews, but this experience was unacceptable.
My flight was significantly delayed, which caused me to arrive very late at my destination. As a direct result, my hotel reception had already closed. The booking had been made months in advance and was non-refundable. I lost money because of the delay — simple as that.
Instead of taking responsibility, the airline dismissed my complaint with a standard template response, stating the delay was “less than four hours” and therefore no compensation would be provided. That might be convenient for them, but it does not change the fact that their delay caused real financial damage.
What is even more frustrating is the way the case was handled:
• Generic copy-paste replies
• No real engagement with the actual problem
• Declaring the case “closed” unilaterally
• Hiding behind do-not-reply emails
This kind of behavior shows a complete lack of accountability and respect for customers. Delays can happen — that’s part of travel. But how a company handles the consequences says everything about its quality.
In my case, the service was deeply disappointing and unprofessional.
I would strongly reconsider flying with this airline again.
Extra charge for regular seat and no working screen…
I flew to Delhi from Birmingham and the outbound flight was fine but the return flight was terrible. My screen and my mum's screen next to me didnt work for the entire journey. We were not given the option to move to another seat nor an apology. We were not offered drinks with our meal and were given dirty looks when asking for a tea or soft drink. The fact that I had to pay an additional £48 to choose a regular seat at check in so we were seated together, only for the screens not to work is unbelievable. Having requested a refund for this charge, I have been offered a fraction of a discount that will be paid only to an account in India. They managed to take my credit card payment but cannot refund back? I have been going back and forth with them for 4 weeks now and still no resolution. The flight itself was fine but the service, the extra charge and the non functioning screen for a 12 hour flight is simply unacceptable. I dont think I am asking for much, just a refund of the extra charge.
4 Months of Harassment & Gaslighting: Air India’s Baggage Failure
I am officially reporting a 4-month-long ordeal of mismanagement and gaslighting by Air India following a baggage delay on my flight from Visakhapatnam (VTZ) to Rajkot (RAJ) via Mumbai (BOM).
1. Proof of Airline Liability
My booking was made directly on the Air India website as a single ticket with a single PNR. Crucially, both boarding passes for both legs of the journey were issued at Visakhapatnam and displayed the same PNR. Air India staff at VTZ explicitly confirmed that my baggage would be automatically transferred to Rajkot.
Despite this clear-cut "Through-Check-In" obligation, my bags were abandoned in Mumbai. When I questioned this, Air India staff had the audacity to claim it was "my mistake" for not manually collecting them in Mumbai—a claim that contradicts standard aviation protocols for single-PNR transit flights.
2. Violation of Passenger Rights
Delivery Refusal: Despite the bags arriving 20 hours late, Air India refused to deliver them to my residence (a basic requirement for delayed baggage), forcing me to return to the airport at my own expense.
The "Ping-Pong" Game: I have exchanged 40+ emails. Air India tried to deflect liability to Air India Express, while Air India Express directed me back to Air India. This is a classic case of corporate buck-passing on a ticket sold by Air India itself.
3. Bad Faith Negotiations
After rejecting an insulting "goodwill" offer of ₹2,000, I was instructed by Air India to submit all itemized bills for expenses incurred during the 22-hour delay. I spent significant time and effort preparing these documents. Once submitted, Air India simply reverted to their original ₹2,000 cap without providing any legal basis or DGCA clause for the restriction. Why ask for bills if the refund is pre-capped? This is a blatant waste of a customer's time.
4. Zero Accountability from Leadership
Both the Nodal Officer and the Appellate Authority of Air India have maintained a "deafening silence" for months.
Summary:
Air India’s "New Era" under Tata seems to be a myth when it comes to ground realities. They are capping refunds without citing any legal basis or DGCA clause, ignoring their own staff's errors, and ghosting customers once the case becomes "too difficult."
I demand a transparent justification for the refund cap and immediate reimbursement for the actual costs incurred.
Asbolute cowboys with no standards!
I've always had issues with Air India travelling over the years, and simply put - they don't really care. They treat passengers like cattle. And no matter how much you pray, your entertainment system will never work.
Now this time, to sit together as a family we need to "pay for seat allocation" - which is a horrible money grabbing practice from a long haul airline!
This will be our last time flying with you.
Huge appreciation for Air India Crew
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding care and professionalism shown by your cabin crew during my recent flight (AI-2017 14 Feb 2026 DEL to LHR).
During the journey, I developed a severe stomach infection that caused continuous vomiting and diarrhea. It was an extremely distressing situation, but the flight attendants were truly exceptional in their response. They provided me with the medications available onboard, prepared and gave me ORS to prevent dehydration, and took constant care of my condition. They also located a doctor onboard and, following his advice, arranged additional medication for me.
To make me more comfortable, the crew created space at the back of the aircraft so I could lie down and rest. Throughout the flight, they regularly checked on me to ensure I was alright. Unfortunately, due to my condition at the time, I was unable to note their names.
I have been flying with various airlines for over 20 years, and I have rarely witnessed such genuine concern, compassion, and hospitality. The crew members involved deserve the highest appreciation and recognition for their dedication and kindness.
Please convey my heartfelt thanks to the team on that flight.
My wife paid for leg space
My wife paid for leg space, because she has severe knee pain, but her seat was changed and air India answer was that can complaint but they can not do anything. And they misbehaved. Sorry for Air India response and working.
I was scheduled to fly to India on feb…
I was scheduled to fly to India on feb 7 from YYZ to delhi Airport. I pre booked 48J seat but when I reached to the counter for check in, customer assistants told me that there is change in plane configuration and the plane has only 46 sequence number seats. There is no 48J seat as appear my ticket. They even asked me to fly next day. Like seriously??? I booked seat only 2 weeks before the day of flying as it was urgency to go. But nobody understands this thing and even they were arguing.
Why nobody told about this change of seats before? Airlines should notify regarding any change related to the booking or non-availability of seats.
After almost more than 1 hour, I was provided the new seat.
