I usually fly Southwest to the state of Washington but Alaska got me by saying they flew direct to Spokane. They cancelled the direct flight and put me on connecting flights. Ok, if I knew that before booking I would have booked with SW but what the heh, my cards already been charged. Needless to say once I arrived at airport at 4:30am it was a comedy of errors and mistakes by Alaska Airlines. I spent all day in San Diego airport and got to Spokane 8 hours after our original arrival time. Lesson learned, don’t fly Alaska. Stick with Southwest!

This is the worst airline ever

This is the worst airline ever. If your not buying directly with them they are unable to do a good job with your reservation nor your frequent status milage plan. 56 minutes or more on the phone, waiting for a customer service agent to talk to you and for nothing.... even at the front desk not gate seems to be on the same page.

I cant add mi program millage number just because there needs to be a space between my name. Is correctly spelled and everything but it just can't add it due to a space. How stupid is this...?

Ufff I am soo frustrated with this airline. If you are in Alaska only travel with Delta even is is more money.

Update after the travel: The airline changed my whole itinerary. They released my seats on my second flight and removed me from my third one without notifying me. I missed my flight and opportunity to arrived at 11am and had to do a long customer service line at united because alaska removed me completely from my original family record booking flight.

This airline is the worst. I do have to recognize premium chairs are comfortable.

Worst customer service ever

Worst customer service ever. She switched us all to middle seats. Did not tell us, then would not fix it. She then told us tough Alaska is one of the only carriers to Alaska so suffer. They then told us they would rebook us for the next day and told us to stay in the airport for 12 hours. They are horrible FLY ANYONE ELSE. They cancelled our tickets, took our money and told us to pay for another flight. She said it was because we were agressive due to them messing up seats. Are you kidding me. Another person that cannot accept responsibility for their actions.

First Class = No Class

First Class = No Class
Alaska has really gone down hill and I don't see it recovering any time soon. I used to always fly Virgin, which I LOVED, but Alaska bought them out. I was hoping Alaska would adopt some of the things that made Virgin so great, but they've actually gotten even worse and offer LESS features than they did only two years ago.

I recently flew first class and it was extremely underwhelming and mediocre. First off, they don't even offer champagne or Prosecco in first class anymore. Not even for purchase. Which is one of those things you just kind of expect to have when you have a first class ticket. Secondly, the staff seemed overworked and stressed, I only asked them once for help and they were so rude and edgy, I could really tell they didn't want to bother with me.

And the worst part is they don't even offer tablets anymore or have screens on their seats to watch movies or shows. They offer literally nothing for a 7 hr flight from NY to the west coast. They just expect you to use your own device, but you still have to pay $15 to have WiFi capabilities to watch a movie on your own device. What happened to the good old days of having a screen to look at on the chair for a long flight? Especially if you're paying extra for first class! Even cheaper airlines still have screens on their chairs! They don't even offer headphones!

Even the meal was just some microwaveable crap. They also didn't even have any snacks for sale on a cross country flight! Unbelievable! You'd think they'd have SOMETHING to offer.

The Alaska lounges has also been closed to priority members and day passes ~ so you can't even access the lounge anymore unless you have pay for a full annual membership, which is not worth it.

I also pay annually for the Alaska Airlines credit card and it literally gives me no benefits now! I've been a long time customer, frequently flying for work, since the Virgin days, but Alaska has really ruined their own brand and service.

I think I may have to switch frequent flyer airlines, at least to someone who has screens and their first class staff isn't completely unhappy to be at work. I hope you figure it out Alaska! Such a bummer.

Trip ruined

Alaska airlines single handedly ruined our trip to Washington. Our checked bag was lost by them. They scanned it at the ticket counter and then it was absolutely missing from that point on. Our week long trip was spent on the phone with Alaska Airlines, returning to the Seattle airport, sending family to the Houston airport, shopping with provided (but minimal) vouchers to have enough clothes and toiletries to last us the trip.

We’ve had a small handful of caring and helpful people in the (contract only) Houston office who have worked tirelessly to help us. Aside from them, we have been treated terribly. For an airline that claims a “baggage claim guarantee” and “top customer service”, we were appalled. It was the first and last time we make the mistake of traveling with Alaska Airlines. We would have been better off with a budget airline like Spirit.

Our bag is unique in brand, tags, and color. We went above and beyond in our descriptions of the contents including prescription medications with our name printed on them. Each phone call is met with a simple apology and a shrug of “no update”. Aside from the few people mentioned above who did the necessarily manual search for a bag of matching description or contacted airlines sharing the terminal, we have been met with no information, updates, or follow through on promised call backs.

We have tearfully pleaded with them to let us know anything WE can do to fix their colossal mistake. Our bag contained irreplaceable heirloom items from a deceased loved one. We have offered a reward for return of the bag. Aside from sentimentality, our bag holds no higher value than any other bag passing through the airport.

After traveling with United and southwest loyally for over a decade, I am appalled with how terrible Alaska airlines can truly be. I’ve never experienced anything like it and I hope I never will again. You get what you pay for— don’t skimp and take Alaska for anything. If you do, don’t let your bag leave your hand and trust a single employee with your bag regardless of what’s inside.

The one manager I spoke to (Kekoa) was rude, dismissive, short, and unsympathetic. This is on Alaska Airlines. We don’t want their 6 week “settlement” claim. We just want answers and our bag.

**Update: our bag was found nearly 10 days after our initial flight. The airline itself did not find our bag, but a woman in the greater Houston area called to report a bag being delivered to her residence. It was our bag. She did not have a missing ticket with Alaska, Alaska had no trace of ever going to deliver this bag to her house. Luckily, the Houston office was able to retrieve the bag from her. When we received the bag, it had traveled on Alaska airlines with a ticket that was not assigned to us or to the woman it was later delivered to. It has been to TWO locations, received “mistagged luggage” tags, and ended up back in Houston and at this woman’s house via courier. Alaska had no trace of the bag despite its multiple tags. Do yourself a favor: never travel Alaska. Don’t accept their measly offerings of money toward their flights. Save yourself the headache.

Alaska Airline is no help at all

Alaska Airline is no help at all. Booked a trip for the wife and mother but ended up mispelling her name. They are not willing to update the name as it's passed the 24hr mark. I'll take my business elsewhere

Truly appalling - worst airline I've ever flown on

The service Alaska Airlines provided on my recent flight from Portland, San Francisco on August 11, 2021 was truly appalling. Making passengers wait in the airport for 5 hrs 15 min for a flight that is only 1 hr 30 mins is abusive. Not only did they have hundreds of passengers waiting in the airport enduring FOUR delays on a short flight, they also made us wait on the tarmac for 30 minutes with face masks on and no ventilation on the plane. The guy seated next to me had a big plastic bag filled to the brim on his lap for the entire flight. Never once did a flight attendant ask him to stow away his bag.

In Europe, airline passengers are protected by the EU Passenger Bill of Rights. I asked Alaska to reimburse my hotel because I had to stay over at SFO since the flight arrived after midnight. The customer service was terrible. They offered everyone a $75 discount on a future flight which was worthless to me since I don't plan to fly Alaska Air again.

First the manger, Ronni, told me to submit a receipt for reimbursement. Then she wrote me back a few days later stating she could not issue the reimbursement because it was not a 12 hour delay. Their policy is clearly abusive to passengers. I will be reporting Alaska Air to my US Senator and House Rep.

The treatment I received by Alaska was below par and I cannot in good conscience recommend them to anyone. Stay away from this trashy company.

Poor service!

Called them for assistance, but The customer service representative gave attitude from the very beginning of the call. They do not care about the customer satisfaction at all.
At the end, they just hang up without even asking if I have other questions.
Very poor customer service I have ever encountered!!

Saver Fare reservation no Refund or…

Saver Fare reservation no Refund or Changes, Extra baggage charge

I am not a happy first-time customer with the Saver Fare policy on changes, refunds, and baggage charges.
Booked this reservation to catch an International flight to Thailand, This supposedly great price is similar to the Spirit Airline they advertise cheap prices but nickel and dime the customer for extra baggage cost and no option to change the dates due to Pandemic reasons.

I will not recommend this airline to my friends or many social media followers.

Spend time booking with an Airline that can be changed if something happens and like normal airlines that do not charge for 2 extra check-in bags.

Excessive baggage and overwieght fees

Upon arriving at the airport with 2 minor children who were traveling, one of our bags were overwieght. After paying 30 for each bag they charge $70 for being over by 7lbs. when i asked if they could give me the courtesy of waiving the fee since we traveled so often and this never happened before, i was told if i doit for you i have to do it for everyone and the airline is loosing money"! they did offer me to take my childrens back packs and stuff some of the sneekers ect in it and they would check it for free, they can carry there snacks, laptop and tablet in there hands.. i called Customer Care and was advised no refund because they gave you an option how about the option to not take $70 from a family traveling.

Alaska cancelled our connecting flight…

Alaska cancelled our connecting flight without notice. Added hours to our layover with a 10 month old. Staff was at best completely useless, at worst insulting with their placations. Alaska must have a lot of people with an unofficial title of "Professional Useless Person" given the enormous number of hedcx employees walking around. Everything seemed to be everyone else's department. It's amazing how many employees you need to tell someone to call customer service. This used to be a great airline. Now it is my last choice.

ALASKA AIR,NEVER AGAIN!!!

I was stuck in Seattle for 4 hours! Pilot said we had an engine that needed maintenance,I told the guy next to me."Maintenance is what you do BEFORE a flight! Sat for an hour, switched planes, then it took 2 hours for the inept baggage crew to load the luggage,in the meantime my about $800.00 worth of Halibut sat in the sun in my cooler for 1 1/2 hrs!Along with coolers of others Alaskan crab.Connecting flight left Minneapolis for LaCrosse Wi leaving me stranded in Minneapolis.Got a room at the Intercontinental cost $204.00 Alaska Air said I would be reimbursed,or $400.00 credit on next flight, got an email stating I would receive $100.00 credit! I said "This is an insult" your agents lie and I would NEVER FLY ALASKA AIR AGAIN!!Flight 1338

No refund due to Covid cancellation

Purchased a ticket to fly just when Covid hit. My convention was cancelled and most attendees got refunds from airlines as well as hotels etc. not us. Alaska was the only airline refusing to refund even though our flight was canceled. When FAA mandated refunds for canceled flights, Alaska airlines had the gaul to double down and offer a credit good for a year which served us no value. When we booked, this airline had a decent rating. Looking at these reviews they’ve sunk. I encourage the people I was traveling with to give these creeps the horrible rating they deserve.

Worst experience of my life

I WILL NEVER FLY WITH ALASKA AIRLINES AGAIN. They cancelled my connecting from Seattle to Pittsburgh without actually notifying me other than me happening to open the app to check the terminal gate and seeing it was canceled. They gave no reason and come to find out nearly 20 other flights leaving Seattle heading all over the country were also cancelled, all were Alaska airlines. Not to mention I’m flying with my elderly grandparents (both are 80+). From there I waiting in line for 3 hours to get to customer service trying to get them to schedule us a new flight. At about hour 2 I finally scheduled a flight to get us all home and then afterwards some one gave us a number to call to get assistance from Alaska airlines. After waiting through the entire wait time on the call I had an agent lectured me for 20 minutes on why I shouldn’t have purchased the tickets and should have waited for there assistance so they could schedule them for me. At this point I had lost all faith in the airline and was mad that they were telling me not book my own flight. They were not even attempting to get us booked on a new flight until lo after I called. Now the new flight is leaving over 24 hours later than when I would have gotten home and it’s another layover in Atlanta. I’m extremely annoyed because I need to get my grandparents home. The airline still has not given a good reason why the planes were canceled and have given extremely poor assistance with the entire thing. They have minimal staffing and seemly do not care for their customers at all. Every hotel in the city is booked solid and they are still closing the their Alaska lounges leaving my grandparents and I with no where to sleep. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life I do not recommend this airline to anyone.
