UNBELIEVABLE ALASKA AIRLINE CANCELS…

UNBELIEVABLE ALASKA AIRLINE CANCELS OUR FLIGHT & IS NOT WILLING TO REFUND US OUR MONEY. I find out when checking in to ALASKA AIRLINE on April 24th 2022 from Belize city Airport to Los Angeles that our flight has been canceled due to crew shortage. Besides the great inconveniences they say they will not refund us our money because they claimed that the on line agency JustFly.com had previously informed us on April 15, 2022. How would they know that? What if JustFly.com is Lying to Alaska Airline or ALASKA AIRLINE IS LYING. but we were not informed, searched & could not find any such email.

I am 75 years old and has to fly from San Jose to San Diego by flight no3462. My name is Meenakshi Natsrajan. I am really grateful to Miss Simran sdc who helped me with my luggage check in since I didn't have a card. Employees like her are very valuable and they should be encouraged in every way possible.

Brilliant flights

Have flown in the last week in premium from las vegas to San Francisco and first from san fran to seattle and both flights were awesome.

The service at the airport and on the plane was great and legroom amazing. The food and drink service in first couldn’t be better. Cant wait to fly again.

Significant changes One week before the flight

One week before the flight they sent me a e-mail saying my flight has changed leaving 5h before with a scale which will take be to the destination at the same. However, I had to cancel my appointment prior to the flight. 2 times with more than 2h in the phone and nothing happened. Unbelievable.

Total scam. I will never book with Alaska again.

Days before my flight from LAS to SFO (9:35pm), I received an email informing a schedule change, with more than 4h difference (5:10pm) and connection in Seattle, adding 4 hours of unnecessary travel. No other flights were available at the same night. Getting the refund and buying another flight at this point would cost 4X the price I payed. It is extremely frustrating and almost an unbelievable situation. This can happen to you!! I have always trusted Alaska, but honestly I have never seen such a thing happening with an Airline company: a flight change taking me to another state, with 4 hours time difference AND 4 hours plus travel. Customer service cannot help or waitlist. I had to check everyday for flights, and when I finally found one, I was 2h (!!) waiting in line, and when my turn arrived, the tickets were sold out. Really frustrating. As a consequence, we have lost our appointment, and ended up being really unsatisfied with Alaska service. On the top of that, the customer service attendant laughed of the situation, which I found very disrespectful. Really really bad service and company. Run away from that!

Worst experience I have ever had with…

Worst experience I have ever had with an airline company.

I call for assistance, ask a few questions, and 4 days later I get an email they refunded and basically canceled my flight ticket! I never ever asked for this ticket to be refunded and canceled.

Is this company a scam?

When I called the refund department for assistance, not only couldn't help me but sent me to 10 hours of waiting for time department that never picks up the phone.

Be aware of this company! They make mistakes on their side, and you will never be able to reach out to them.

What an extremely terrible experience.

One of the BEST AIRLINES in the world

I fly Alaska Airlines almost exclusively in the US. Their loyalty program, Mileage Plan is so generous, and the perks are incredible.

Alaska is the gold standard. If you are willing to pay for a first-class experience with customer service to back it up and no drama, this is the airline for you.

Alaska, Third World Airline

On flight to Hawaii 1/25, within the space of one hour there were 12 announcements about face coverings. We are not children who need constant reminding. The older flight attendant acted like a Gulag camp guard, trawling the aisles looking for violators. Alaska claims their air filtration changes the air every 6 minutes, and was better than a hospital operating theatre. If that's the case, why the obsession? Every single person on the flight was vaxxed, so this isn't saying much for their faith in their own system. There were no meals available to buy, they made the announcement that the drinks cart would only make one run, this was all supposed to be about Covid, so what had the meals and cart to do with Covid? It was a disgrace that they hiked up the price of the flight and reduced the service. They are obviously trying to claw back money from already overstretched pax. On the return, while sitting waiting for the flight, I saw an employee come from quite a distance away, target a couple sitting against the wall, well away from everyone else. The woman was drinking from a fast food container and of course had her mask down. This employee named Angel confronted her and berated her about mask wearing. She had been wearing her mask, but she couldn't drink with it on. This was nothing to do with Covid, this was all about a power trip. Flight attendants are morphing into Covid Air Marshalls. Once on the plane, the woman sitting next to me did not have her seat belt fastened. The FA came up the aisle, supposedly checking everyone, but she spent all of her time checking out mask wearing and didn't see the belt unfastened. Obviously masks are more important than belts. We paid for Premium seats, but the service was anything but 'Premium', it was like a Third World airline. Shocking service and treatment, will be looking into other airlines from here on.

Frequent Flyer Scam

I'm here to talk about the frequent flyer program of Alaska Airlines and what a bait and switch it is.

I've been an Alaska FF member for 23 years (they actually kept track of that). When I joined it was to the promise of taking my bucket list trip (Australia), first-class (no blackout dates). So, my wife and I have been saving frequent flyer points for TWENTY THREE YEARS (think about that for a moment).

Last year we decided to take the plunge. We got cruise tickets and I went online to get my long-coveted first-class tickets, only to find there weren't any.

I talked to Alaska and they said I had waited too long (6 months prior to trip). So we postponed our trip for a year. I watched for the very first opening to purchase tickets (331 days in advance). When the window opened, I immediately swooped in. No FC tickets. I called them.

Oh, I'd gotten in too soon for FC tickets. So I complained. They told me that they only had to honor the FF cost for the ticket if the originating partner offered them those tickets. Which means they may (and often will) never have the ticket you want. By the time the complaint went through, there were no coach seats, either (BTW).

As I'm a wannabe lawyer, I did some research into applicable case law. The courts have repeatedly found that all of the airlines can make any change to their programs that they want at any time without grandfathering. So if a trip might cost 20,000 points one day, they could change it to ten times that amount the very next day and you have zero recourse. They can even terminate you and all your points for NO REASON...

Despite advertising their policies, they can do anything they want. This applies to ALL loyalty programs. I've had similar things happen to me in the hotel business. It's a scam.

I suggest if you are going to be a member of these "loyalty programs" then you do two things: 1) Never pay for the privilege (eg don't pay to have their "credit card" or pay higher prices because you get mileage points.), 2) Never assume you are going to get what they promise... because in all likelihood you won't.

Please, this is first-hand advice from someone who has been loyal to one company/program for over twenty years. Heed it!

Worst airline ever.

Worst airline ever. I know I am just one person and the airline is big with many resources, but if this post helps just one other unsuspecting and trusting customer, then this effort would not have been in vain. We were going on a cruise, the ship leaving from LA. Our original air booking was a direct flight to LA (LAX) (07:00am - 9:50 am). However, Alaska reschedule this flight to two separate flights: a flight to Portland and a second flight from Portland to LA. The first flight was on time, but the second flight was delay long enough at Portland to result in us being too late to board our ship at 3:00pm(!!) - a cruise that we planned for more than year! Furthermore, when we rescheduled to return home the following day, we were told there were no more 1st class seats available and we will not be refunded the difference - yet when we boarded the plane, there were only two 1st class passengers on the plane!! And, this flight too, was delayed for more than 2 hours. Believe me, I will never fly Alaska again.

Worst. Airline. Ever.

Alaska shitline. Worst shitline ever.. Still haven't been able to contact an agent since flight cancelation Dec 26th!!! It's now been 16 days (well over 36 hours of hold time-all disconnected from Alaska shitline side) since I was promised a refund for both of my reservations (one was for a person of size, in which alaska shitline already gave the seat away before check-in.)

Edit: it is officially been 30 days. after more than 120 hours of actual total hold time over 18 days I was finally make contact with airline. I was *promised* it would take 7 days to process refund. It is now 12 days with no update on when, just "you will get your refund."

Cancelled and no one answers the phone

I am a 100k MVP Gold member. I pay for fully refundable tickets because my business travel changes suddenly. In this case, Alaska cancelled my 815 am flight without a recommended change. I call their “MVP line” at 5:09 am and with their call back service for a call at 9:00 am. By that time, I booked a flight on United.

I put my elderly mom in the care of Alaska Agents....

We purchased a ticket for my mother's Christmas Travel Plan (CTP). A FIRST-CLASS TICKET, one way, that set us back nearly $900 this was weeks ago. We asked for wheelchair assistance from Check-in through to the Gate, my mother is elderly and needed a pusher to get her to her Gate. Alaska provides this service normally and since only ticketed passengers can pass through security, it's on the airlines to do this. Today, for example I arrived 1 hour and 10 minutes early to check a bag and meet up with a pusher who promptly whisked away my mother toward Security and Gate.
My mother's CTP had been arranged for yesterday evening at 5:56pm-you're eager to hear what I experienced to make that date turn into today's CTP?

Well, we left the house plenty early,f but we encountered the worse traffic I have ever experienced. it took us a full hour and I was worried until. I was reassured that I had boarding pass and baggage ticket on board and when we arrived at the Portland airport it was 5pm allowing 56 minutes to get my mother to the gate. That should have been plenty of time. I took her to the check in and I announced," We have boarding passes and baggage tickets printed- we need an escort to the gate." But I didn't hear "yes sir". What I heard from an Agent was alarming, "We will need to reprint your boarding Pass before we can check you in."
"Excuse me, I have my mothers boarding pass already and her baggage ticket and I..."
"okay sir i just don't want there to be any trouble getting her on the flight.....can i see ID." and while I stood there I could see about 10 ticket agents and no line. I admit, it was pushing the boundry at about 5:06pm but I knew the preprinted doc and prepaid ticket should have helped... it got quiet while they played at their Terminals. I said, "Mom someone will push you to security and to the gate your going to be fine." At the check-in counter I kissed my elderly mother and said goodbye- I experienced not one alert from the crew behind the counter with Terminals and screens spewing forth minute-by-minute details of conditions and real time information affecting travel and business for Alaska Air.
"So long Ma..."
I departed the checkin both after they quickly took her one checked bag with preprinted tag from home on it and I didn't stay to make sure the 10 agents at the check-in both would do their job and get my mother in a chair and on her way- but wait just a minute-that was not my job. My job was completed, I needed to move the car that I had parked in front of the check-in counter at Alaska Air Departures. I left the building and drove towards home.
Then I get the call. My mom says, "They are telling me I missed my Flight."
"Where are you mom?"
"RIGHT where you left me."
"They didn't put you in a wheelchair yet?"
"No they are finding me a new flight."
"No mom, they are not finding you a new flight-put the gentleman on the phone."
"We are printing her a new ticket Sir. "
"Why?"
"Because you were late, we cannot print up a boarding pass this close to departure."
"We have two boarding passes already printed up- Take her IMMEDIATELY TO THE GATE YOU HAVE 30 MINUTES IT IS 5:30PM."
"Its too late sir, the system won't let me do anything about it."
"YOU SOLD HER TICKET DIDN'T YOU. IT IS CHRISTMAS AND THE HIGHEST BIDDER TOOK YOUR ATTENTION FROM GETTING THE ELDERLY WOMAN TO HER GATE. DIDN'T IT!????"
"We don't do that here sir?"
"Why is she still there at your check-in counter?"
The Agent did not do due diligence to effectuate the duties of his role as an Agent and I want him written up for this offence. He did not even include the needed assistance of wheelchair in his rebooking or refund any of the 1st class ticket cost onto our credit card. A Coach class ticket is cheaper. I called in the morning about this, and they said I needed to call customer care but when i spoke with the agent at 800 and added the wheelchair, I hung up and cancelled the first-class ticket for a complete refund and then purchased a new ticket myself which got the price down at little from the first-class ticket price your check in counter guy wanted us to pay. Sadly, the service at Alaska ticket counter, 800 and Corporate has become SELF SERVICE FOR THE AGENTS AND NOT THE CUSTOMERS. THIS WANTON DISREGARD FOR a Disabled ELDERLY WOMAN WHO HAS GIVEN A LIFETIME AS A SOCIAL WORKER TO MEMBERS OF HER COMMUNITY WAS NOT RESPECTED. Who was treated like a mark, instead of a customer who is valued. I don't know how you conduct the business at the counters in the airport but this accounting smells of wrongdoing, misinformation and one-upmanship tactics that I intend to expose for what it was for us, will be for others and I despise elder abuse more than anything and that is what we experienced. Somebody abused an elder to make money off of their disability. Bullying! Matthew Baird (ESQ) 541-490-8756

I had a disgusting situation on the Alaska airline. I was just kicked out of the plane along with the police. The crew members claimed that my mask (I attach the video) has holes and is not suitable for flight. I asked if they had a flyable mask for me in that case. They brought it to me while I was sitting in my seat. I put on their mask over mine and sat in 2 (!!) masks !!! (I attach the photo, it was taken from the video).
I have all the video evidence in my phone. They came up to me and just started to kick me out, and at that moment I started filming a video and the video clearly shows that I have 2 masks on my face !!! I have never argued with the staff about the mask! No precedent for masks or anything else. I already flew with the same airline (Alaska) an hour ago.
I have absolutely no idea why and why the airline employees behave this way! There were only 15 people on board besides me.
I have never denied the danger of covid and have never argued about wearing a mask!

I called the carriage, it just can't be proof for 13 minutes.
I was refunded ($ 140) for one flight, the flight was a connecting flight and I stayed in Seattle all night before to get on the next plane to my destination. I paid a lot of money for the next flight! I missed a lot of different meetings for which I actually made this flight. I wasted money and nerves. I caught a cold in a cold airport overnight and then I had a cold for a week.

I read the reviews of passengers about the Alaska airline and I was horrified with how many people they dared to do this! Even families with children were kicked out of the plane, the police were waiting for them upon arrival!

Alaska Airlines: Absolute Worst!

I have been an Alaska Airlines member and consumer using the Bank of America Alaska Rewards card for many years now.

Each year I have paid an annual fee for benefits I've never been able to utilize. In all these years, I paid more than the going rate (comparing similar flights/dates/times on Travelocity/Priceline/Kayak) to fly many times just to use miles or what they call their companion fare. Every time it's worked out to be more expensive. Every time I feel cheated. This company tricks you into believing that there is some benefit to membership, but there is NONE. I have booked flights and had them cancelled due to COVID, but then they would not refund the money back. During this same pandemic, United and Southwest airlines refunded my flights without question. They have held hostage hundreds of dollars of funds in what they call my wallet, which expires somehow, without any decency to refund it. I believe through my interactions that this company falsely advertises their services and their rates.

Almost every representative I've worked with have had an attitude that really does represent this company exactly as I understand them, disgracefully arrogant and insulting!

I despise very few companies, but Alaska, you are the absolute worst!

Save your money, your time, your patience and do not ever do business with this company.

Greatest customer service

Living in Spokane for the past 10 years, I have flown almost exclusively on Alaska Airlines, even if it's just a shuttle flight to a connecting airport. Rarely have there been any issues out of the ordinary (COVID schedule changes, weather, etc.) Whenever there is an issue, they step up to the plate and make it right. Staff is usually very pleasant to deal with, sympathetic to our situation, and extremely helpful. One flight from Hawaii to Seattle had mechanical issues and we ended up arriving four hours late - at 1:30am. Missed our connection back to Spokane. We were in need of our bags but were told most employees had left for the night. The person in baggage claim called a supervisor down who explained that there were hundreds of bags stored for morning flights and there was no one available to sort through them all to find ours. Somehow, he was able to get someone to go 'behind the scene' and locate our two bags. He was a a real life saver that night. There have been other examples over the years, but mostly, traveling with Alaska is an effortless and enjoyable experience.
