Alaska Airlines Lacks Urgency in Addressing Security Breaches
I recently discovered that my Alaska Airlines mileage account was accessed without authorization, and my miles were used to book flights under unknown names. While my miles were eventually restored and my account was locked, the process was frustratingly slow, and their communication was severely lacking. Customer Care admitted they were aware of this ongoing security issue, yet there was no urgency in addressing it. When I repeatedly asked when security improvements would be implemented, they avoided the question provided no timeline for changes. It’s unacceptable for a major airline to downplay a security breach affecting customer accounts. Alaska Airlines must take immediate action, notify affected customers proactively, and prioritize stronger security measures before more travelers fall victim to this issue.

Alaska Airlines: A Disgraceful Display of Bigotry in the Skies
Alaska Airlines has shown the world that discrimination still thrives in its ranks. Forcing a Muslim passenger to move from an emergency seat—or leave the plane—simply because of his beard and faith is a revolting act of Islamophobia. This isn’t about safety; it’s about prejudice, plain and simple.
By singling out this individual, Alaska Airlines reinforced the dangerous stereotype that Muslims are a threat. This shameful behavior is not only discriminatory but a violation of basic human rights and aviation laws. Airlines are meant to ensure safety for all passengers, not vilify them based on ignorance and bias.
This incident demands immediate accountability. Alaska Airlines must publicly apologize, fire the crew responsible, and overhaul its staff training to eliminate such vile behavior. Anything less is a tacit endorsement of bigotry.
To Alaska Airlines: Your actions are an insult to justice and equality. You’ve made it clear that Muslim passengers are unwelcome in your skies. Either fix your systemic prejudice now or face the global outrage you’ve rightfully earned.
Racist company
Racist company. I was about to book my ticket with them but after seeing their staff being racist to humble muslim. Am never going to use them. Not even for free

Disappointing Experience with Alaska…
Disappointing Experience with Alaska Airline
I recently flew with Alaska Airline, and unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. The issues began before the flight even started. The check-in process was chaotic and understaffed, leading to unnecessarily long wait times.
Onboard, the situation didn’t improve. The seating was extremely cramped, making a long flight unbearable. Despite paying extra for priority boarding, my seat was double-booked, and the flight attendants seemed indifferent to resolving the issue.
Speaking of the flight attendants, they were unhelpful, racist and dismissive throughout the journey. Requests for basic items like water were ignored or took an unreasonable amount of time to be addressed.
Adding to the frustration, the flight was delayed by over two hours with little communication or explanation. To make matters worse, my luggage was mishandled and arrived damaged. When I contacted customer service to report the issue, I was met with unhelpful responses and no resolution.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and unprofessional. I wouldn’t recommend Alska Airline and will think twice before flying with them again.

Disappointment with Alaska Airlines 20-Minute Baggage Guarantee
Dear Alaska Airlines Customer Service,
I am writing to express my disappointment regarding my recent experience with your 20-minute baggage guarantee. Upon landing (Flight 288, 12/27/24, LAX>EWR, confirmation SZCUBX), the flight attendant confidently announced that checked baggage would be delivered within 20 minutes of our plane’s arrival at the gate. However, it took 34 minutes for my luggage to arrive at baggage claim, well beyond the guaranteed timeframe.
When I approached the baggage claim office to request the promised voucher, the sign read, “Sorry we missed you,” and I eventually located an agent, Laura, overseeing the arrival of the bags. I inquired about the voucher, but she claimed that “severe weather” prevented her from issuing it, despite only a light sprinkling of rain at the time. Her explanation—“if I give it to you, I will have to give it to everyone”—felt dismissive and undermined the integrity of your policy.
Your 20-minute baggage guarantee is marketed as a symbol of reliability and commitment to customer service, but my experience felt more like a bait-and-switch. Alaska Airlines has built its reputation on trust, and I feel that trust was broken in this instance. If exceptions to the guarantee can be invoked so easily, the guarantee itself becomes meaningless.
I hope you will address this matter with transparency and provide clarity on how such situations are handled. Additionally, I would appreciate receiving the promised voucher, as my baggage delay did not appear to meet the criteria for valid exceptions.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.
Sincerely,
Jason West
BUYER BEWARE
BUYER BEWARE. Planned family trip to Hawaii in March '25 and received an email on Christmas Day letting us know that due to operational issues, they no longer were flying to Hawaii on our original Saturday, even though they showed availability at almost double the original cost. Our only option was to fly in a day earlier or later, which both options would come at significant additional expense.Their team of agents offered no other options. BE VERY CAREFUL NOT TO BOOK EARLY TO SAVE MONEY AS THEY CAN TAKE IT AWAY AT THEIR DISCRETION.
This is not a family-friendly airline
This is not a family-friendly airline. I have taken flights with their very restrictive Saver fares many times and have no issue with the rules, but this week my mother-in-law fell while I was on the way to the airport to take a Saver flight and had to divert to the hospital instead of taking my flight or its return. Alaska would not accept hospital records or anything else as evidence of a family emergency to credit any part of my $600 fare, saying they give no refund for any reason. Emergencies happen and next time I will be flying with an airline that recognizes that. I hope the $600 was worth it to Alaska to lose a customer of many decades!
2 days of cancelled flights for no…
2 days of cancelled flights for no reason now today hours of delays. I’ve been in airport for 3 days just trying to go home to Los Angeles!!! There is no customer support and no one can tell me why it’s being cancelled. I asked for a full refund and no responses. I also have had to pay for now 2 nights of hotels and food and taxis adding up to over 500 dollars. I have missed two days of work with no pay and my dogs at home haven’t eaten for days. This is unacceptable service and this company needs to shut down.
A Disappointing Experience with Alaska…
A Disappointing Experience with Alaska Airlines
I recently flew with Alaska Airlines on flight AS1372 from LAX to Liberia, and unfortunately, my experience left me deeply disappointed.
During check-in, I encountered an issue with paying the baggage fee, even though my card was charged successfully on the first attempt. Despite providing evidence of the payment, the staff, including the desk agent, supervisor, and manager failed to offer a reasonable resolution. They dismissed my concerns, refused to accept cash, and repeatedly suggested inconvenient options, like purchasing a preloaded bank card for an unnecessary additional cost. To make matters worse, the staff's condescending and threatening attitude added unnecessary stress and humiliation to an already frustrating situation.
The onboard experience was equally disappointing. The cabin crew was unprofessional, treating passengers in a patronizing manner. They laughed loudly during an overnight flight, disturbing passengers trying to rest. Service was minimal, with only one cup of water provided during a 5-hour flight.
This combination of poor ground support and an unprofessional in-flight experience reflects a severe lapse in Alaska Airlines' standards. Until these issues are addressed, I cannot recommend Alaska Airlines to fellow travelers.
Delayed flight caused by Alaska incompetence
Delayed flight caused by a mixture of equipment failure and organisation issues left me 3.5 hours late to Seattle. I missed my business class BA flight to the UK as a result of this incompetence. There was no help from either airline in Seattle.
When I complained to Alaska customer services they wrote some long sympathetic email then made the ludicrous offer of $150 voucher, not even a refund for their flight. It cost me over $1000 to fly coach on a Delta flight to UK. Awful airline and pathetic customer service.
The WORST airline ever
The WORST airline ever!
I was screamed at by a flight attendant when I was trying to ask for help (medical). They do not have supervisors in the air but spoke to a supervisor as soon as we landed. She was really helpful and told me to complain via the website. I did and am still waiting for a response. This was in April.
Save your money
Thumbs down Alaska & Yakima TSA "workers"
Whatever you do, don't fly Alaska out of Yakima WA. There's only one thing worse than their employees, it's there TSA "Mall Cops". It's worth the drive to SeaTac to avoid this place. Maybe if done so, we can get the city to end up closing this location. Yakima is a great "big, "little" town but #1 worst airports in the nation. Keep up the good work Alaska employees & Yakima TSA employees!
