Purchase points paid no points credited

I want to report an issue with Alaska Airlines. I purchased miles on the Alaska Airlines promotion using my credit card and was charged the full amount, but the points were not posted to my account. I find it hard to believe that in 2024, the company does not have the option to credit the points to a customer account automatically. This is unacceptable. The points should be posted to the customer account immediately after purchase. I did not receive the points I paid for, which is $961.64, and when I tried to contact support, they said it was not their problem because a third party handled it. I am disappointed in this experience and surprised that the airlines could not hire better IT people.

On a business trip to Spokane

On a business trip to Spokane, Washington, my return trip to Boise, Idaho was scheduled to leave at 12:30 in the afternoon. I arrived at the airport quite early and noticed they had an early flight at 9:00am. I asked the gate agent if I could switch my flight to the earlier one. The flight was light so they let me switch, at no cost, and they upgraded my economy seat to a first class seat, at no cost. This is what I call first class customer service. Good show Alaska Airlines!

Quitting Alaska after 10 years as a loyal customer and >200k miles.

Alaska Airlines' service has been degrading consistently over the last few years. After flying well over 200k miles with them over the last 10 years and even being "gold" status the last few years, I am no longer using this airline. The last straw was when they lost my 3-year-old son's checked bag on a direct flight from SEA to LAX recently and refused to take responsibility or reimburse me. This is despite their own baggage policy and it ruined our vacation for just the 2 of us. I was blown away at their compelete disregard for the well being of myself and my son. He had absolutely nothing to travel with without that bag and what made the experience worse is they lied to me a number of times telling me the bag was found and would arrive within a few hours, they kept me hanging for 48 hours, repeating that I would get the back any minute. During that time, we were unable to enjoy our vacation and had to sit at our vacation address waiting for a deliver that never came. The first night was absolute torture as my son couldn't sleep. It was the single worse experience I've had as a father. I ultimately had to replace his basics like some clothes and some medical equipment he cannot sleep without and they refuse to reimburse for any of it. Truly a dumbfounding experience, especially after giving so much business to this company for all of these years. I will do everything in my power to avoid flying Alaska again.

Flew from Dallas to San Fransisco

Flew from Dallas to San Fransisco and i really enjoyed the flight. In comparison to Frontier the seats on economy class were spacious and good to use. The flight attendants were very helpful overall this was superior to that of spirit airways and frontier .

poor service many flight changes

We have been loyal customers for many years, but things have really gone downhill at AA. We generally fly first class and the care/meals/comfort has become poorer and poorer. Even more important is that the airlines are constantly changing our flights, often changing our itinerary from non-stop flights to non-direct flights. The people I have spoken to in customer service have often been rude and dismissive. In the future I will take my business elsewhere, even if it means spending more money.

Beware

First and LAST experience booking with Alaska. They will not refund or allow us to make any changes whatsoever to our Maui flight, despite the 'act of God' fires that have made the trip impossible. In light of the disaster, the money we are out is a small thing, but I'm surprised and disappointed with Alaska Airlines.

Worst customer service

Our flight was delayed because some passengers have peanut allergies, flight were delayed 45 min it is the reason why we missed our flight to Vancouver, No one help us! No one! We asked flight attendants to help us exit our plane quickly because our connected flight will be right after, but they told us the plain will speed up, but flight was delayed! We missed our flight, worst part Julia Supervisor in Seattle 14 August 12 am was so rude with us, she didn't treat us like customers, she didn't give us her I D or last name, she told us sleep on the floor in airport 9 hours, she didn't offer hotel or food, anything. So bad experience with Alaska airlines! They treat customers unrespectful and so bad!

Accidentally booked the wrong flight…

Accidentally booked the wrong flight time on my return flight. Immediately tried to change the flight home... like within 2 minutes of purchasing. Because I booked a "SAVER" fare, my only option was to cancel BOTH departing and returning flights. I looked to make sure the cost was the same... the identical flights are now double the cost. In 2 minutes the cost doubled?? So much for their 24-hour policy. This airline is a joke. Southwest is so much better to work with as a consumer.

Great flight

Alaska Airlines has always treated me well, they are my favorite airline for travel out of Maui, Hawaii to anywhere they fly. These guys have been to over backwards during Covid to maintain my MVP status, even though I did not travel much during the Pandemic. I love the extra considerations that go into account for Alaska Airlines to take care of their customers. I will recommend this airline to friends and family.

Intentional cruelty to children from Alaska Airlines

Sometimes things happen when you travel, it can’t always be helped. But the decisions people make, and the way they treat others can make a tough situation tolerable, or miserable. Alaska Airlines did the latter.. and ended what was one of the greatest vacations of our lives on a sour note because of their cruelty to children, intolerance of others and horrific customer service. We booked flights for my 7 person family round trip to anchorage many months ago, upgraded our seats and had us all together because two of my three kids are afraid of flying and get air sick. At anchorage airport in the terminal my daughter was very nervous and discreetly threw up in a trash can, then cleaned up and within minutes was calm and playing with her siblings.

A flight attendant observed this, pointed at her, whispered to other employees. I walked over and asked if everything was ok. They said yes. Then 10 minutes later a supervisor came over and told me that the attendants flagged my daughter as possibly being ill and they would have to get a medic to clear her to fly. I explained the situation. Then he came to talk to her. She said the same thing. He said ok.

He then spent 20 minutes staring at her (a 12 year old) from a distance while whispering into the phone. He then informed me that they couldn’t let us on the flight. I asked why. He said she wasn’t clear to fly. I said she’s fine, she was ok and playing with her siblings, and where was the medic? He told me “well the medic couldn’t make it but I told him what I saw.” I questioned him… you diagnosed something wrong with my daughter via telephone? What is your medical training? He just shrugged. He then rebooked us on another flight 3 hours later.

The new flight boarded, and when it was fully boarded the crew announced the pilot had been assigned to another flight and they were waiting for a new pilot to drive in from anchorage. The said they had been waiting for half an hour… before the plane boarded. So we just sat…. And sat… until she finally arrived.

On that first leg new flight my family was separated, and we were in the very back of the plane next to the bathroom… which was full. So it smelled like a construction site outhouse after a week in the July sun. It was disgusting and half a dozen people on the flight got sick from the smell. Somehow they were not ejected from the flight… maybe that’s something grown men only do to little girls on Alaska airlines.

At our layover in Seattle, we didn’t have seats assigned for our “new” flight so I went to the gate and waited for a gate agent to arrive. When she did, I waited for her to get setup and then tried to gently explain that the plane was going to board in less than 30 and we didn’t have seats, and we really needed to sit with our children. Before I could even get the whole sentence out, she cut me off VERY rudely and snapped “you’ll just have to wait until I’m ready.”

I then told her we just needed our seats. “Oh, I already did that.” Ok, great… but nobody told us. What are our seats please? “I got you in three groups so the little ones won’t be solo, but you have to check all your bags. You’re lucky I got you seats.”

I took a breath and just told her… “your airline has been shafting my family from the moment we arrived at the airport this morning. I’m just trying to get my kids home. This has been a horrible situation made worse by the way we had been treated, so would it kill her to show a little kindness? Stone faced. No response.

We finally boarded our flight home, and it was ROASTING. The plane was at least 95 in the cabin. We sat there cooking and the temp was so high it made my daughter sick again, who then cried because she was afraid they’d kick her off the plane.

This is a disgusting way to treat customers. I travel for work multiple times per month and have NEVER experienced anything like this before. It’s not just poor customer service, it’s apathy bordering on intentional cruelty. The “you’re lucky we’re even talking yo you” attitude is not acceptable. Never again, Alaska Airlines, and you should be ashamed.

I fly back and forth from NYC to LA often and frequently take Alaska Air. It's been easy to earn reward points and to get free flights and the schedule and frequency of flights makes it convenient for me to go back and forth.

If I could rate Alaska Airlines a zero…

If I could rate Alaska Airlines a zero I would. I had a flight with them on the 12th of May from Las Vegas to Seattle. I was connecting from there to Dublin. However my flight from Las Vegas was delayed which led to me missing my connecting flight. As far as Alaska airlines were concerned it was not their fault it was air traffic control. Initially they refused to rebook my flight, eventually they agreed too after a crew member from my connecting airline asked to speak to the manager. They agreed to rebook my flight but there wasn’t one for 24 hours. They refused to pay for accommodation only agreeing to make an exception when I became quite upset. The staff on the plane and at the help desk were unpleasant to deal with. A woman at the baggage desk when I tried to track down my bag pretended not to know me when I returned at the agreed time that she would help me. Overall I would not recommend Alaska airlines. It was a horrible experience and I will never fly with them again.

Alaska Airlines fraud

Upon check in at first class counter was told the rules changed that morning, NO LONGER 2 BAGS CHECKED FREE. Was charged $40 dollars, when we got to the gate we complained, found out we were lied to, you still get 2 bags each checked free.... but they had no record of my credit card charge, even though I received an alert from Chase and it was charged! Alaska Airlines won't give us our money back because they don't have it... well....who does have my money? I had to report the fraudulent charge and cancel my card on the first day of our 2 week vacation! Also, we saw over 30 people in line get the same treatment!

If I could rate a zero I would

If I could rate a zero I would. It won't allow me. Horrible customer service when you are in a bind. Alaska Airlines flight was delayed by almost 2 hours causing us to miss our next flight. We were stuck in an unknown city for 24 hours with nobody from Alaska Airlines willing to help. They refused to take responisbility for their delay. Because the flight was missed through Alaska Airlines the other airlines insurance wouldn't allow them to change our tickets and we had to repurchase new tickets to our next destination which with everything cost us almost $2000. It's a dip in a pocket for such a huge company. But I guess this is how they make money is off the middle and poor class people. I would've atleast expected compensation for our nighttmare experience but no they are refusing to take responsibility. Please do not fly with this company if you can avoid it. Everything is smooth sailing until you get into a bind then customer service does not exist.
